    I received my P1S yesterday and all I can say is....... I'M AMAZED!
    This thing printed out parts right out of the box after about 20 minutes of initial setup time and does a really, really, REALLY good job on the prints.
    If you're a 3D printer person and you've never seen something like this print in person you'd better prepare yourself. The speed of the print head is what I call unreal. So easy to use and prints are as close to flawless as you get without have the part injection molded. 👍👍👍 😄
    Side note: Make sure you have solid table or surface to place it on. It can shake most simple tables pretty hard. Doesn't hurt the print but seems to want shake my beer off the table. 🤣

      Any idea how this compares to an ender? I currently have an ender 3 and a mars 3 pro. Resin is a pain to deal with and looking at prints off this machine they look far better than an ender. It is hard to tell tho since it's a TH-cam video. Does the quality of the machine make a difference? Or is a .16 on a bambulab still going to look like a .16 off an ender?

    • @midnightvr6538
      @midnightvr6538 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @_Patrick_ these printers are so much better then an ender creality just is not a good brand anymore. If you have the money it is a good printer but very loud.

    • @DaveBuildsThings
      @DaveBuildsThings 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@midnightvr6538 I'll accept the noise (although not really much with P1S enclosure) so long as I get good prints. I want a printer that makes parts for my projects. Not a printer that wants me to baby it for an hour before it will deliver a part.

    I ordered a P1s based on your review. I been 3d printing for 2 years, all on DIY printers, and I have gotten pretty good at it. I have a heavily modded Ender3V2 that can print some excellent quality models at high speed, but it can only print so long before it requires maintenance / repairs / serious re-calibration. Not to mention I have spend enough money on it that I was almost at the price of a P1p.
    But now, I just want to print, I want to make toys, parts, art. I don't want to mess with the printer that much, I just want to print. I want to get better at 3d design and design my own models, but I cant do that if I spend all my free time modding / upgrading / repairing / troubleshooting.
    Thank you for the honest review, appreciate you.

      @@BV3D not yet with the ams, as I post process all of my prints, but I cannot wait to try this new system. I had an overly modded ender 3, which basically had nothing original on it except certain frame parts. I spent more time tuning my printer and trying to troubleshoot it, that I was disinterested in using it.
      This seems very user friendly and with food advancements

    Nice printer. I'm tempted, BUT, I must have a color display. I haven't done monochrome since the early 2000's. Sure, some people don't care, but I'm spoiled and only want color. It's not like a color display costs that much more at all.
    I have a ton of them for projects I make and they are not pricey.
    That being said, the other issue is all that waste.
    I've been watching some vids on that and there are ways to avoid almost all waste.
    For one, there's a new option that takes advantage of a long retraction.
    It will retract most of the filament, only purge a little bit and change filament.
    Then, there's another option (if I understand this correctly) where you can have a "purge tower." The recommendation is, that if you are printing multiple parts, you can select one of the parts to be the purge tower, where you don't care about it's color (could be a part inside another part). So no purge waste as the parts is built with the purged material.
    Of course, there's infill as well, but I'm not sure how well that works.
    I understand that there's also an option to just turn purging off altogether. This would be if you don't care about where the colors change, in that, you don't need a sharp change.
    I'd be good with that. But the monochrome display is a deal breaker for me.
    It's too bad that they don't offer an "upgrade" to a color display or just dump the stupid monochrome display altogether.

  • @BayAreaPEV

    Really tough choice for me .P1s with AMS is just about $1000 after tax. Creality K1Max is $860 after tax during labor day sale. Most of what I print is Flexible TPU so speed and AMS doesn't really matter as much. But would still be nice to have for other filaments. Don't really plan on abrasive filaments either. Mainly PETG,PLA,ABS possibly. Bambu definitely seems more refined with the slicer and hardware. But the K1Max has the 300m build volume. I feel like the P1s 256mm^3 would be just enough for most things. I've run into size issue on my SV06 with 220mm build volume occasionally . Hard to choose between cheaper K1max with bigger volume but no AMS or slightly smaller P1S for$140 extra. Would love your thoughts. Thanks gain for the video, really helps to make an informed decision.

    • @wildfire9887
      @wildfire9887 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So, just my two cents on the matter. Firstly, the Creality app has so many ads and is not nearly as user-friendly as the Bambu app, which personally would be reason enough for me to go with the P1S. Also, even if you don't plan on doing multi-color prints, the AMS just adds a level of convenience by being able to have four colors/types loaded and ready to go. In your case, as you print a lot with TPU, you'd probably want to add/print a Y-Splitter so you can easily switch between the AMS and your TPU spool as TPU doesn't work when loaded into the AMS unit.
      Assuming you really are not limited by the smaller buildplate and are able to print most of the things you want, I think the P1S is a no-brainer.

    • @nykidxxx
      @nykidxxx 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If the AMS doesn’t matter much then you shouldn’t be factoring it into the cost comparison. Without the AMS, the P1S is cheaper by $160. The print bed size is probably what you need to consider if you regularly do prints over 256mm

    You need to design your models with layer height in mind for painting when using ams. That way you limit changes in color as often. Make surface layers height on your models slightly higher in spots you need to immediately change colors.

    I've noticed a lot of people, while using different printers, say they have the same gloss on the bottom and non gloss on top when printing that little boat, I wonder if it's maybe in the file since a real boat, the color would be off due to corrosion on that portion of the boat that goes in the water...idk cause I've not seen anyone so far that hasn't had that same thing. I'm probably wrong, but just a thought cause if nothing else you print has the same issue, then maybe🤷‍♂️

I’ve looked at the bamboo, labs wiki operators information and I cannot find any information about the physical clearance for the install of the P1 S. Do you have any dimensions you could share I’m specifically wondering how much room needs to be left at the back of the P1 S for the spool.
