    As a black man myself, I say Amara looks very pretty, and I am sure the people whom she encountered are very jealous and bitter.
    There's nothing wrong with a black woman embracing her natural hair and rich, melanated dark skin and refusing to submit to Eurocentric beauty standards.

      True.. And just because you're dark skin doesn't automatically make you gorgeous.

    • @RadicalforGod
      @RadicalforGod 6 ปีที่แล้ว +360

      dondreg16 dark skin people don’t walk around enslaving light skin or white People because of their skin color. Dark skin people don’t have a history of calling light skin people names and discriminating against them. If anything dark skin people have made fun of other dark skin people because of the self hate they have been taught.
      There are beautiful dark people just as there are beautiful light skin people. But to simply call someone ugly because they are dark is ignorant because being light does not make you automatically gorgeous either. I have seen plenty of unattractive light skin people. There are plenty of biological benefits to being dark skin. So if I had to choose one I’ll keep my melanin.

    • @dondreg16
      @dondreg16 6 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      You do realize I'm in agreement with you, right? I do have a question though. What dark skin female celebrities or entertainers do you consider beautiful?

    • @RadicalforGod
      @RadicalforGod 6 ปีที่แล้ว +113

      dondreg16 ok, guess you forgot to hit the like button.
      First of all dark skin celebrities are outnumbered in this country by white, mixed or light skin women. Watch the movie coming to America and you will see plenty of dark skin actresses in that movie. Unfortunately dark skin women don’t get picked for a lot of things because they are dark. The dark skin women like lupita are rare in Hollywood because of the negative stigma and racism of being dark. You can only find dark shades like Gabrielle Union, actress Kisha that has a twin sister, Patti labelle, Stephanie Mills. Back in the old days when black women wore their hair natural was more recognized than today.
      You do know anyone with color in their skin gets their color from a dark person? The dark dark I would like to see in Hollywood don’t show them in movies. By the way Lupita won prettiest woman in the world. There has also been dark skin miss America’s. There’s beautiful dark skin people everywhere, go outside and you will see.

    • @RadicalforGod
      @RadicalforGod 6 ปีที่แล้ว +76

      dondreg16 what constitutes beauty to you? Because beautiful to me isn’t a bunch of makeup. Beautiful to me is like the african women in Africa with no makeup, glowing melanin dark skin that looks like minerals, natural hair. Tell me who you think is light and beautiful and please don’t mention someone fake.

No rapper speaks for others especially me . I love my dark women .A lot of these self hatting guys are evil - turning beautiful dark women against there own race .Bad enough with the other stuff .

    • @joeblow1385
      @joeblow1385 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      *Naima Lee* You realize that's a wig she's sporting, right? And that most West Africans we descended from didn't wear 'Afros' because it would have been too damned hot, but cut their hair very short. So, logically, 'Afros' and most 'napptural' hairstyles are not 'natural' to the Africans we come from. Also, she used contact lenses as she was not born with light brown eyes, so she's kinda full of it.

    • @joeblow1385
      @joeblow1385 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      *Aaliyani* Nothing wrong with straightening hair. Most men, including most Black men, prefer that to kinky hair. It's just that she's praising a woman who claims to be proud of her African heritage and whines about how her keeping her kinky hair could hold her back, yet Naima has straightened hair.

      @steloneil6699 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Charles Adams White women are the ones who started the "we don't need a man" feminst BULLCRAP!! Go and do the research on "THE HISTORY OF FEMINISM", there you'll find the names of: Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Coffin Mott, Lucy Stone, Susan B Anthony, Simone de' Beauvoir, (and these are just a few, there were hundreds more where this came from) these names are from the era of "THE TURN OF THE CENTURY" these women risked LIFE AND LIMB!! DO YOU UNDERSTAND,..... LIFE AND LIMB!!! to get their message across to the men of that era, that they were tired of STAYING AT HOME!, THEY WERE TIRED OF ONLY BEING SEEN AS OBJECTS OF SEXUAL GRATIFICATION, TIRED OF NOT HAVING A SAY IN HOW THEIR LIVES WERE TO BE LIVED, TIRED OF THE NOTION THAT THEY SHOULD ALWAYS REMAIN BAREFOOT AND PREGNANT, TIRED OF CONSTANTLY GETTING THEIR ASSES BEAT TO A BLOODY PULP, TIRED OF THE NOTION THAT THEY SHOULD ONLY BE SEEN AND NOT HEARD, TIRED OF WALKING 2 STEPS BEHIND MEN, TIRED OF NOT BEING ABLE TO GET AN EDUCATION, OVERALL.......... TIRED OF NOT BEING SEEN AS "INDEPENDENT" (remember 'INDEPENDENT' was your word when you described what black women wanted). So yes!, EVERY LAST SINGLE WOMAN I NAMED......... ARE ALL WHITE!!! Now here are a few names of some recent historical "INDEPENDENT" women: Gloria Steinem, Germaine Greer, Helen Reddy, Betty Friedman, Camille Paglia, ok these women were all born after the 1900's, and guess WHAT!!!......... THEIR ALL WHITE!!!!!!!!! So getting back to your statement.... "aren't ya'll supposed to be strong INDEPENDENT black women that don't need a man", you also went on to ask black women " why do we want black men to stand up and protect us?, am I correct? you did make these statements right? Also you went on to express that you are "CONFUSED" as to why we as black women would want protection from black men? Well perhaps I can "UNCONFUSE" you as to why us black women should expect black men to stand up and protect us. So ok, looking at this issue from an HISTORICAL POINT OF VIEW..... At the time when black men were CONSTANTLY throughout the history of the United States were being (and might I add........by the ugly lies from yours truly.......... WHITE WOMEN) by the hundreds if not thousands ( the numbers were so exorbitant and the racist legal system didn't bother to record them) LYNCHED, BUTCHERD, MUTILATED, BEATEN TO DEATH, CASTRATED, DRAGGED TO THEIR DEATHS (behind horses/carriages/cars) BURNED ALIVE, CONSTANTLY BEING SHOT TO DEATH, AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, BEING JAILED AND IMPRISONED UNJUSTFULLY!!!!!............WHO IN THE WORLD DO U THINK WAS THERE? PUTTING THEIR NECKS ON THE LINE FOR ALL OF THOSE ATROCITIES BEING DONE TO BLACK MEN?..............DO YOU THINK IT WAS THE WHITE WOMEN WHO WERE CONSTANTLY ON A EVERYDAY BASIS LYING AND CRYING CLAIMING THAT BLACK MEN WERE CONSTANTLY SEXUALLY MOLESTING AND RAPING THEM? IF YOU ARE A BLACK WOMAN HATER, ESPECIALLY A DARK SKIN BLACK WOMAN HATER...........THEN YOU PROBABLY DO BELIEVE THAT THE LYING AND CRYING RAPE ACCUSING WHITE WOMEN WHERE THE WOMEN AND NOT BLACK WOMEN WERE THE ONES PUTTING THEIR NECKS ON THE LINE FOR YOU BLACK MEN!!!!!..........Ok Mr. Adams,........ these are some of the many reasons why we as black women believe black men should as you asked "STAND UP AND PROTECT BLACK WOMEN"............. Givin' your comment,........... I'M ALMOST PRETTY SURE YOU'RE STILL "CONFUSED"

    This also affects the Asian countries as well, Korea, Japan, China or South Asia like India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan. This shit happens in the Asian community in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and other Asian countries. dark skin people are considered poor ugly and can never achieve anything. My brother is a darkskin(not pale/fair) bangali boy who has a girlfriend, athletic, straight A student, manager at his job at the age of 16, and is make a whole lot more the any Asian boy in or neighborhood. I agree with you that colorism is a global issue and the we all need to be more open minded.

      Europeans/British didn't totally wipe out all the pure blooded people in the world.
      I once saw a pure blood native American in St. Louis with his 2 children at the Arch.
      I was so amazed that they still existed......
      I thought they were all killed off.
      They were so dark skinned and beautiful.

    It’s not just black or Hispanic community it’s all over the world . Asian community equates fair skin to wealth, beauty and intelligence. Funny thing is Caucasian find dark skin beautiful. I have never experienced bigotry by the white community, but the ignorant and classless kids I went to school with that were of my same ethic background made fun of my skin tone and big lips. Yet here I am not prego or a high school drop out, darker as ever laughing all the way to the bank and consistently complimented on how pretty I am. Skin tone has nothing to do with success and anyone who puts that much weight on skin tone other than protecting yourself from skin damage is a loser with low self esteem.

      Im with you. Sooo afraid of this happening. If she does this it will fuck up the planet!! I mran, it will simply throw the whole NARRATIVE OFF. Her beautiful dark skin and embracing it is what its all about! ( I mean it is clearly obvious that she is very intelligent and talented too ) but what has resonated with us about hwr is her dark beauty and how much we need to have it respected and acknowledged for its beauty. Its time for this idea of eurocentric standard of what makes a woman beautiful to cess! It has destroyed the entire pyche of an global world people. Who, by the way are the majority of the people on the earth. The indigenous people to the planet. Our rightful place is now and time to rise! This what she represents too me. I know it sounds deep. But it is DEEP. We have got to stop worshipping whiteness. Until we do, we will continue to self-hate and deconstruct. Sorry for such a serious discussion.....but not sorry.

      No. Blame the media and T.V and commercials and stuff. Those many dark skin guys you talked to grew up watching sitcoms, commercials, and other stuff where White women are plastered everywhere and in movies black women are depicted very badly. It's just programming. It's up to the parents to make sure they know what is going in to their child's minds.

    • @AlexiaChanel
      @AlexiaChanel 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      But if a person is using skin lighting products because they have skin problems that's NOT bleaching their skin... Thats trying to fix uneven skin tone. Please don't even refer to that as bleaching because it's not. A person is only bleaching their skin when they're using bleaching/skin lighting products with the intent to become a lighter skin tone all over their body.
      FOR AN EXAMPLE:
      A woman with a caramel brown skin tone has black colored knees caps & wants to use a skin lighting product on her knees so they can match the rest of her body. (THATS NOT BLEACHING) ... But if a dark skin woman is using the same skin lighting product ALL OVER her body to become lighter. (THATS BLEACHING)
