You know CT, I see comments complaining that you never finish one thing before you start another, but I personally like the constant variety. It's similar to how I approach my own projects; when I get bored with one I set it aside and work on another.
CT, like many, I struggle with the bouncing back and forth from one UNCOMPLETED project to another. Here’s hoping you’ll finish the bug without interruption. I’m enjoying your work on it, and I want to see the finished project. Take care.
First time for me and evidently don’t know the history on this build. When You get everything back together and begin front alignment, I can help with that. Very simple DIY procedure , just have to fabricate a simple toe tool to make it easy, and if you make it like mine, it will work on pretty much any vehicle. No need for 4 wheel alignment on these beetles as Your not going to be adjusting anything on the rear.
Glad to see the type I again. Those rear brake hoses that go from the frame to rear brake calipers are hitting those mufflers. I did the same conversion on my 67 and I went with a hard line from the frame that went to a small 4” hose on the back of the caliper.
Cool deal! I believe you are missing two large rubber snubbers on each side of the front beam between the trailing arms. Not sure you’ll be able to put the body back on with the carburetors installed. Tip: use some lip balm on your cardboard manifold gaskets to prevent leaks. Also; put some wheel bearing grease on each of the carburetor linkage pivots; it’ll operate a whole lot smoother and last longer. Finally; get yourself some 11 mm space saver nuts for the carb manifolds.
Several things: - At 15:00 in, allow me to encourage you to start using an appropriate anti-seize on all your threads or tightly mating parts like splines - especially so since you live in humid Florida. Trust me when I say that you'll thank yourself some day... and so might someone else who comes along after you! - At 16:15 in, remember that not all tires are going to be perfectly concentric on the tread pattern. While you can use a tape measure to get the alignment close, it probably won't be dead on so keep that in mind. The last thing you want to do is prematurely chew up tires - especially so in the era of Bidenomics! - At 36:15 in, the M/C... why didn't you deal with it when it was new to prevent rust? I would suggest a thorough clean followed by self-etching primer and paint at the very least although nickel & cadmium plating would be best before paint. That part would be perfect for a home plating setup in the garage or shop - the plating would stave off rust formation indefinitely if you did it right. Best wishes! - Max Giganteum
I was curious why you have disks brakes on the rear but drums in the front? usually its the other way around. on the carbs I found using those 11mm brass nuts a much easier way to secure the carbs and as an added benifit they dont conduct heat the same as steel and wont back off like steel nuts sometimes do. Great job , love how you walk everyone though your logic when dont something new
Love the bug but being a chevy guy starting to dream about getting a classic Corvair or at least an engine to start with. It's like a bug engine on Steroids🤣. Some folks even use them in aircraft being aircooled and opposing clyinders.
Hi CT cat that thing on the road🇺🇸,wood like that verry much my friend🙏🏻,Im almost done with my project,😓will be eight years of work June 2024😉.we started all´most on the same time you with Rusty 🐣I with my T3 SC.greetings Hubertus.🇳🇴🇳🇱🙏🏻☮🍀🇺🇸
CT I have been watching since the first episodes. With rusty when you did a first start. I have watched every video of vw stuff some s Of the Karman ghia is hard to find. How many KG's 4? Two were 1967 & a 1972 I think plus the 5 ? VW-Porsche 914's. I know you live down in Flordia. If you could please keep a eye out for a vw411& or vw412. Try finding a Fastback & Sqaureback they arw really great fun fast (for vw) the Automatic are kinda puke. The Automatic Stickshift found in Beetles & Karman Ghia are fun. Hope to meet you in person some day.
Guys, The Beetle is back! Let me know what you think & Check out FlexiSpot here:😎😎😎

Hi CT nice you seeing working back on patina build 👍
Thanks Andy!
My friend, your auxiliary pump cannot lift the fuel from the canister. You need to fill the pump with fuel and everything will be ok...
Ct baby, long time no see, glad to see you back on track....get those buggies fix and get them running 😮. Again.god bless.
Wow, welcome back
We have been waiting for you to build this car for a long time
Thanks for sticking around! I appreciate it! =)
Bro, give it a paint job, already!😂👏👏👏
Looking great !!! But the brake pedal pad is upside down
If it's not to expensive I would have all the tin powder coated. It's more durable and not prone to chipping and scratches.
Good idea! That would be nice!
I just love the VW emblem on your toolbox really cool. now go find a VW Rabbit and fix it
hello love the bird sounds , its nice , //in the back round .
Thank you so much

Hi Ct
Are you going to use the laser to remove the rust, And then put primer on. And then paint. the beetle?
Hi CT cat that thing on the road🇺🇸,wood like that verry much my friend🙏🏻,Im almost done with my project,😓will be eight years of work June 2024😉.we started all´most on the same time you with Rusty 🐣I with my T3 SC.greetings Hubertus.🇳🇴🇳🇱🙏🏻☮🍀🇺🇸
Thanks Hubertus! We've been at it for a few years now! =) 👍
Hope to see "Shultz" running soon mate! Any thoughts on smearing him with some patina juice?
Do you need a engine to chassis ground wire too? Noticed you only had the battery grounded to the chassis.
Yes, the transmission has a ground cable to the chassis. I think the starter is bad. I will find out tomorrow.
CT I have been watching since the first episodes. With rusty when you did a first start. I have watched every video of vw stuff some s

You're going to have to fix the brake pedal pad it seems to be upside down.
Seems to you have done this a time or two
I hope you never paint this car. This patina look is soo nice in this Bug!!
No paint for this one. The patina stays! =) We will use some clear wipe to make it pop.
