Whenever you are in the surge area and that means there are not many drivers matching up with high demand, you don't want to accept that head to outside the zone. Just be patient and wait until the shorter trip comes along, so that way you can still stay close to the high demand area.

In my market here in Minneapolis, I haven’t see a surge in nearly two years. Be glad your market still has surge.

glad you drivers are United and the drivers no better to take garbage unlike the market that I work people work for peanuts. I’m starting to show drivers things myself but the real thing to do is go independent work for yourself. Your clients that pay you 2 to $300 a night and you only have to work with one person get away from Uber and Lyft, those companies will take advantage of you. Thanks my guy from Boston.

I think they use surge pricing as some kind of test because sometimes it makes absolutely no sense. One night I picked up a $20 surge at an empty shopping plaza. There was NO ONE there. I mean, not even the cleaning crew. I just grabbed the surge and got out of there - used it on a 2-mile ride and called it a night. It made no sense. To them (uber) it's like a Pokemon game or something.

Surge is now fare replacement, it means nothing , its garbage. With surge or not , offers are very similar, its all the same. $2 or $10 surge, same offer, they think drivers are dumb and cant do even basic math. On top of lying about time ETA.

Yep. They seem to lower the base fare then add the "surge" pricing. So what you get is essentially the same as regular pricing. Yeah, they think we're stupid.
