Dude, Joe, For the life of me I cannot figure out why this video doesn't have thousands and thousands of more views. Photography tips from a professional photographer on sports cards photography? This should be your most viral video yet. Great job Joe
Thanks Roger! I think the issue is that I don’t make videos often enough. The TH-cam algorithm doesn’t like that. Feel free to share the link (like facebook or discord) that helps a lot.
It’s finally here! Thanks for this Joe the black thing above the card to block the refracted light is a huge detail I’ve been missing I’ll have to try and recreate that at home. I also want to pickup some color swatches like that they add so much to the image. Great work🤙🏻
I actually learned the one-touch for raw cards from you! Definitely gotta see if I can get a "flag"/poster board, didn't know about that one 📝appreciate the super useful tips Joe!
@spartansrock_2469 Hey man. Sorry I just saw this comment. Here is a link to those swatches. www.michaels.com/product/brights-6-x-9-foam-sheets-value-pack-by-creatology-65-sheets-10104249?michaelsStore=8704&inv=2
Awesome video!!! Thank you for sharing all of this fantastic info and showing examples as you are explaining. I will make sure to talk to the cards as I am shooting them hahaha. Never would have guessed that is what you used for backgrounds! I need to hit up a crafts store! Thank you Joe!!
Great video, this shooting methoud will work on Chromium cards ? Sometime they are looks like silver mirrow, beautiful cards but hard to make a good photo for showing.
Hey Max. I made this video quite a while ago so the equipment I used in it is not really what I use now. Presently, I use a canon R5 body with a 24 to 70mm II lens. Or lighting I have a Profoto A10 on camera. Then I have a Profoto D2 off camera with a large white umbrella
It should be illegal, in a sport as awesome and action packed as MMA, for the photo on a card to be of a fighter getting their hand raised. 15-25 minutes of violence and they chose the period of time AFTER it 😡

He didn’t. That’s sick!! I’m definitely jealous of that card. Hopefully Chito has a big win this weekend.

Glad I could help man. Honestly that’s how most people shoot cards. It’s natural to want to shoot with a light behind you.

Thanks for the comment Pepe. Don’t get me started about about bad UFC card photography!
Couldn’t agree more
