- I got it from a Japanese used store for $20 without trying it out. When I brought it home, it could not be used because the inner gear was dull. There are no spare parts to replace, so I can't restore it to its original state. After a month, I could find similar gear structure from an online store, but not the same armature size. My solution is converting it into battery miter saw. At least I can use this saw to cut PVC for irrigation in my farm.

I bought this mitre saw in June 2014, and I remodeled my basement with it. It it sturdy and it works great th-cam.com/users/postUgkxKL3MYO42eA2JbKxs7_Q0tmRGZI4Ow4Ar . There's not a lot of extra play in the adjustments and it is definitely well built. It is lighter than higher-end sliding double bevel models, so I can move it myself, which is nice. When I had to cut 2x10 lumber, I had to flip the boards over and cut twice; but since most of my cutting was on smaller dimension lumber, the weight reduction and significantly lower price seemed to be a better trade off for the boards I did have to flip. Late in the project, I was able to borrow a DW718, and the sliding feature does make fast work of 2x10s, but it is a tank, and I stand by my choice of the DW715. I also added a laser guide (one of the arbor replacement style sold on Amazon), which is nice to have, but definitely not needed.

Muito obrigado!
Excellent workmanship
Awesome build! Love the motor winding
Esa actualización fue exelente 👍👍👍😋
You have great patience too Anyway have great knowlodge too.
Please add blade protect cover too .I mean have a plastic cover in circle blade Never fingers touch to blade while turning saw.
Great video for understand motor working principles.
I like motor winding test simulator 😀
Maybe you can add hall effect sensor for learn speed winding motor's speed also you can add digital amper meter and a laser light to motor while turning (You must see continue light for perfect balance to other side)
I'm glad you like this test.
Yes, this miter saw need a blade protect cover and clamp.
Anyway, thank you so much for your time and your feedback!
@@gear_show Please read upside updated comment's last section . Because this ideas will give you winding quality too
I watched your video with great pleasure. It was a great show :)
Excellent task testing with a few times failures yet your persistence and do not afraid of failures and demo your failure without cover-up .Finally successful ! Thomas Edison failures thousand times when invented the incandescent bulb sealed in a vacuum glass ! Good designer project task. Keep up the spirit !

Another great video from you. Great job Gear Show!
very nice craftmanship and skilled you are. But i have to ask. Why convert an ac tool to work with batteries?
That is a good question, I will use it in my farm for installation irrigation system.
Excellent job, well done and thanks for sharing
My pleasure! Thank you sir!
Золотые руки, просто респект 💪🏻

Отличный вы мастер!
Хорошая работа!
Using many small copper wires connected together so that winding will be softer and easier to wind than one large wire

When you were playing with brushes, it's electric boom style. Mehdi Sadgdar will like it for sure. 😂😊
I was confused that time. 😂😂😂
Thank you sir for the show and another master class!
Crazy! That's just awesome! Ready for the apocalypse!
Very good
I can almost feel the heat from those batteries!
Thank you for the video. It will be complete if you also include the charging area for the battery...
You're welcome, I'm afraid the video go so long with the charging battery. Anyway, thank you for the suggestion!

Great work hat's off, my dear brother.
Many many thanks!
There is just one thing to say: I am impressed😀😃👋👍👍
Thank you!
It amazes me to see the difference between the comment section here and the comment section on Facebook. Here everyone is giving him credit for what he made (As do I, awesome work) and giving him ideas for new projects. IF this would have been posted to Facebook there would have been over 100k comments condemning him, calling him names or telling him to take his "cheap ass to the store and buy one", (please do keep in mind that this has been a phrase that I have heard towards myself, I have had to make custom tools to finish jobs and when I recorded it and posted it, I was torn apart by the assholes of Facebook). Again AMAZING WORK.
Awesome! BUT more than TWENTY MINUTES on the motor winding etc. Brutal, this could have been a EPIC 19 min video. 11:46-32:00+
😘😘😊😊
Amazing job my friend congratulations 👏👏👏👏
Thank you very much
Good jump scare at the beginning.
Very well done brother 👍🏻
Thank you brother!
You are amazing Sir, respect for you 🎩🌹
Thank you so much!
I watched your videos because you're so damn good at what you're doing, and to remind me of how stupid I am.
I'm glad you like it, thank you!
@@gear_show Like it, no. I love it. Your videos helped me with a cordless battery assembly, and I've been waiting for every new videos ever since. Thanks for your contribution, and keep it up.
Don’t be so hard on yourself mate. Never tell urself ur stupid!
Great job !
Mis felicitaciones!!! Desde Argentina!! Muchísimas gracias
Good job my bro, I very like your video. Success for you

Super amazing, from Kenya 👆
Great job Sir.
What were your impressions? Was it as good as 100V??
What was battery life like???
Seemed really good in the video....
Hi sir!
This time, I really like this result. As I cut the wood, I feel like using it with electricity. I use the battery 18V 3Ah from previous project th-cam.com/video/W_krFez0T5w/w-d-xo.html

Nice my bro
i wish i had the skills and knowledge, great video as always👌
Thank you! I hope you learn something from this video.
Maybe you need to have your own lathe machine now for better machining result 😂
P/S : how fast is the rotation anyway?
Yes, you're right, I should have it. Thank you!
SUPER FANTASTIC ! ! ! 🇱🇹
Absolutely loving the content bud! Your attention to detail is second to none!
How do you always manage to get a perfect replacement motor?
I spend much time on researching
Looks great man, but maybe consider getting a guard? That saw with no guard is scary af lol
nice renovation, but I would like to know where he got the spare parts, rotor, gears ?
perfect work, thanx
Holy Cow
the dream come true
if it can become the Brushless it will be better
I'm still in research process to convert the corded brushed Miter saw to brushless 18V Miter saws to use as to cut multi material as well as cold cut on steel using the pulley system to change the speed for the above two purposes
Yes, you're right, the brushless is better than brush. It will be for next project. Thank you!
Excelente aula, excelente
Great job.....I would not have the patience to do that
Hello mister good job well done
Hello, thank you!
Why did you mount the batteries to the motor? Seems like it would have been much easier to mount them to the base behind the fence, but you would have to use thicker wire to run to the motor.
HLO SIR Very happy to see you
Hello, Nice to see your comment, thank you!
Very useful, good job. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Overengineered, but fun to watch ) Nice job.
it would be interesting to look at the repair of the Bosch gws 14.4 v grinder
It’s perfect
Great job, thank you brother. You are so talented

Thanks for coming
Great video as usual, do u have a wiring diagram for meter saw before you modified it plz
Yes Sir, yous done it!!
Ну ты прям... Учитель физики старших классов!
Hi my friend...
For you to make a 36v was it depending on the type of a wire or on the number of turns?
I really need to know how it works
I follow the existing armature winding. Ex 12V armature 5-6 turns, 18V armature 7-9 turns, 36V armature 10-15 turns.
If I wanted to do the same thing all I could do would be pull everything apart.
With the rest of the pieces lost on return 😅😅😅
@@mas_ter92 nha, don't even bother putting it all back together. Leave it on a shelf indefinitely
How does it get enough power from lower voltage? Is the new armature fixing the problem?
