Before inserting SD Card into center console slot make sure the lock switch on the side of the card is unlocked or system will not load.

@@DaPeoplesChamp Just make sure the SD card switch is unlocked before inserting it into the car. Once inserted it takes about 10 - 15 seconds and you have navigation. Was really easy to do. I cant believe the dealers wanted $300 for this. My navigation works perfect, I hope yours works the same as mine. I want to buy a CX-5 turbo next!
I bought one, paid $70. For a 2019 Miata. Looked like the most reliable seller. After I paid, Ebay removed the item but it still arrived and installed without problems, shows the street, now to drive and see how it holds up. Hardest part was figuring out how to remove the cover from the card slot. Your video fixed that! Should have seen this first and bought the $30 one, but $70 still way cheaper.

Well i dont believe it .. Bought a 2015 mazda 6 Platinum with the Sat Nat which said go to Dealer to up grade .. Took a chance bought the SD card , pluged it in Bang, working great . Much Thanks

Just purchase a 2021 CX-5 and in my previous car just used my phone connected to BT. But it was the dealer sales rep who told me if I wanted Nav to go on Amazon or ebay instead of paying the ridiculous $399 price the dealership charges. I could have lived without it but for $50 I ordered it right when I got home lol. Thanks!

Definitely getting one. My Mazda 3 didn’t come with one because they asked $600 for the navigation.
I went to the dealership months after to try to just get the SD card he said it’ll still be $600 for the card and tuning of the gps.
Update, got the card from the link in the description and it worked like a charm.

@@maxbrown961 Yes, you leave the SD card inserted or at least I always have. I am not sure once the information from the SD card loads in the system if the navigation will run without the SD card inserted. I will have to try, I am curious now! I am glad you saved some money getting your navigation set up yourself.

Went to Cerritos mazda because my navigation was ghosting dude told me over 500 sd card 399 and 100 for labor. Went in Amazon got one for 40 bucks! And will be here today

This works with the 2018 with the sd card you get on wish. Couldn’t find an eBay one for the year. Takes a little while to come in and the sd slot is underneath the ac controls.
I have noticed that it seems difficult to find the older sd card navigation.

Thanks, it was a dream of mine to get one since 2001. I was imported it from Japan about 4 years ago! It has taken a lot of hard work and money to get it back to par!

I just snagged a 2016 Mazda6 and it didn't come with the car installed. Have you updated the card yet? I was almost thinking to just use my phone but the speaker in the car doesn't quiet down when turning info is given

It does not look like Amazon has anymore for sale, you might want to check Ebay. I have noticed both places are hit and miss recently. Every time I find new nav cards and post, they are sold out very quickly and the listing is removed. Good luck in your search.
will it work on my 2021 Mazda CX-3 ? even if it does not have a built-in wifi?
Note: later this year, the 3G sunset will render navigation and other mobile functions completely nonfunctional for 2019 models and earlier. This cuts across all manufacturers - how amy GMs with onstars are out there? A few manufacturers are offering some make-good updates, but at this writing most are simply walking away from their customers. Call your congressperson.

My 2018 CX-9 Touring (purchased used in 2020) came with Maps, but not Navigation. The "Find Address" option is grayed out. I think the Grand Touring model and up had default Navigation. Maps without Navigation isn't very helpful, particularly since the maps shown will only be where the vehicle is.
Anyway, my infotainment system kept resetting every couple minutes. The dealership this was because the SD card was "full". A new SD car fixed the resetting (yes, painful at the dealer) but did not add Navigation.
1. Is Navigation fully a function of the SD card? Would a different card have added Navigation?
2. Why is the SD card getting "full"? Particularly since there's no Navigation to store routes, Favorites, etc. The dealer remained vague about what this data was, mentioning what the previous owner might have added. I'd like to know, since if it filled up before it could again.
3. I have the old SD card. Any way to see what's on it? The dealer said there's no way to clear or reuse this.*
*Note that after you drive 63 miles/100 km the system burns the VIN into the SD card so that it cannot be used on another car. Geez

i bought it but it doesn’t work how i thought it would. i was thinking it would be like apple play and when i have the GPS on my phone and plug it into the car it’ll route but it doesn’t. it’s hard to work with because if you’re going somewhere that’s a route or something then it won’t work. it only works on simple addresses. if i’m doing it wrong then please help if it does work with USB
In order for those options to work the car would have to support Apple Auto.

If I am correct, I believe that the SD card is located inside the glove box area.
Bought a navigation card (model K on Amazon) for my 2016 Mazda CX3 Touring but it does not seem to work. Followed the instructions as in your video but nothing happened (my car also displays that message that the Mazda is not equipped with a Navigation system).

I am not sure because the navigation/infotainment system is different. However, from what I researched your car should have a SD card slot. You could always purchase a SD Nav card and see what happens. Good luck!
I have a 2017 sport, did I see 3d /buildings whenever the navigation turned on ? do you need a vin number etc 2 purchase the SD card for navigation....good video $300 😕 ...I'll pay that $35 all day long

Yes, you can update your nav software. Compare which one you have and see if there is an update version available. Good luck!
i have my cx-5 sd card but after 3 years it expired Can i purchase it though mailbox and keep use the same card or i should just purchase new one ?
I would just purchase an updated current sd card with all the new map information for 2021!

No I have not tried to update the maps yet. All the roads in my area are showing on the map, so I have not needed an update at this point in time.

Depending on the road, yes it does show the speed limit on the navigation screen display!

Not sure about updating a map with the Mazda 6. I do not have any issues with rust my underbody perfectly spotless.
Shouldn’t you be able to install the file on an existing SD card and load it that way?

I did the same fur my 17 Mazda 6. But when I tried to update the maps the Mazda tool told me that the card was obtained illegally. It would not update it.

@@JDMRightHandDrive Same here. 2015 Mazda 3 hatchback. It came with the car, has an original label on the card which says 2021/2022 Europe maps. When the card is plugged, the navigation is stuck somewhere in Russia, and nothing happens. When I add a new waypoint, location, it counts down, and that's it: nothing. Compass also not working, saying 0 sattelites. Mazda tool saying it's an illegal card, but it's original by the label...
After the 3 updated what happens? Do you have to buy another one ?

Good question I just put in the year and model of my car and sd cards for my car showed up on Amazon. They're only around $50 or so
@@antoniojohnson4890 lot of times you can do a search for your car and or vin # and it may tell you what the model # sd nav card you would need
Does the speed limit alert work now that you have NAV?
The navigation chose the recommended speed limit sign icon. It also does show the speed you're traveling but it does not have a limit or warning or anything like that.

Yeah so I just got mine and I live in Sacramento how do I change my current location because every time I go to put in a location it shows the destination that I want but it shows my starting point all the way in Texas

The card that I installed was the newest with the 2016 updated road maps.
I just made a video on this, the maps are 2020 to 2021 Maps. The reason why is because after those years, Mazda only allows their OEM cards to continue being updated. I think it's good enough, because my abs are hardly going to change if we're being honest.

Yes, it will work with a 2015 Mazda 3. Before you purchase the SD card, just make sure your model and year for your car are listed to be compatible.

Does your car have the same infotainment that my car has. The link that I have posted on my video description below shows that the SD card works with a 2014-2018 Mazda 3. I looked up your car in the 2014 year and it appears to use the same system as my car, so I would believe that the sd card in the link will work for you. Good luck!

Yes, I left the SD Card inserted even after the navigation loaded.

As long as the navigation system is the same as what is shown in my car it will work. I don't believe the Mazda 3 changed its system until 2020.

The SD card navigation is region specific. MY card is designed for USA, Canada and Mexico. If you can find a card for your region, then yes this would work for you my friend!

Yes, it does show current traffic congestion issues.

But is this legal? They are really cheap. What will happen when I take my car in for service - will the Mazda dealer notice that the software is not authorized?
I am not sure how the dealer would be able to tell if it is authorized. You are buying a card from a company on EBay I would consider that to be legit. I think the dealer has a crazy mark up on things. For example the splash guards I bought for my Mazda 6 on Ebay were $12 and the dealer wants $150. I would think that if these SD card were non genuine that the Ebay store would get shut down.
@@JDMRightHandDrive I talked to my Mazda dealer. They told that they have had people come in with these cheap navigation cards. The customers were not happy when told that they could not have it updated by Mazda - because Mazda could tell that it was a copy and not an original. I don't know how, but I guess they can look up a number or something.
The dealer told me, that the cards online are cheap because they are copies. Of course the dealer makes money, so their cards or over-priced.

Is the SD card locked? Check the side of the card and make sure the little switch is in the unlocked position. Good luck, I hope you can get it.

do you need to drive over 60miles with the sd card inserted before the map shows up or something?
i just inserted mine and after hitting the navigation icon, it still shows me the compass--it does not load the navigation map immediately after inserting it..

The map came up on mine as soon as the navigation finished loading. Map was ready to go 20 seconds after the SD card was first inserted.

In my case, i inserted and nothing pops up; not even the loading screen. re-inserting did nothing either. Inserted w/ the gold pieces facing down.
