I know….I was very surprised, it did take longer but I generally wait for a sunny day! I was getting ready to travel for family and needed to get it completed so …. As we know, it’s just paper😂
Peg, thank you for the kind shout out. What a gorgeous cyanotype! I have wanted to do this for a while but was intimidated by the process. It looks totally doable. Thank you for sharing. I will be looking for your video on adding it to an encaustic.
Very cool project Peg! I have done some wet cyanotype using foliage but have wanted to try this stencil technique - maybe I will get to it this summer thanks to your inspiration! Love your final encaustic piece. The marks with chains were such an awesome idea! 💙🙌💙
That's why you can get sunburned on a cloudy day. Ask me how this redhead knows that!!! I was never one to use sunscreen except for AFTER my 2nd degree burn on a cloudy day at the beach! (I was young enough to have been told but old enough to ignore the warning!) That was an awesome print. I think I have Ceri's rose stencil. That might be one to try. Are the chemicals always blue or can you change the color? ❤❤❤
Great question! You can make the most out of your cyanotype kit and be surprised about the variety of colors you can produce from it using chemicals from your laundry room and even your kitchen! Because you asked I will do some more adding different varieties of Toning The Cyanotypes! Let’s see what different colors we can achieve.
Thank you for demonstrating the process. What did you say about choosing the gold this time near the end of your covering the papers? Or did I hear that wrong?
I’m not sure what you are referring to as there is nothing more than the cyanotypes solution applied to the paper. I do use a pan pastel gold in the encaustic wax but that has not yet been posted!
WOW‼️‼️‼️‼️. That’s so cool❣️❣️❣️
Thank you, certainly an inexpensive stencil!
What a lovely creation! Appreciated seeing your process and the steps involved in your work. Thank you for sharing with us!
Thank you Amanda! I was a bit surprised this turned out as well as it did on a cloudy day!!
It was surprising how well the process worked on a cloudy day. There’s even hope for the Seattle area.! Lol

Any time! I was a little shocked at the outcome given the weather!
Ohhh we love ya Peg!
💕Thank you!💕. Getting closer to having more time!!! Love the stencils!
