    Hello Melissa!
Thanks for the tutorials! I’ve started to take care of my skin after seeing one of your tutorials (I think it was the double cleanse one)😊
I’m a 23M so applying right amount and correct way of applying skin care products was a struggle for me until I found your videos!
I have oily skin and very acne-prone. I have breakouts on my nose and cheeks almost every week.
    My routine right now is:
    Bioderma sebium micellar water
Cerave Foaming cleanser and cerave blemish control cleanser 2x a week
LRP effaclar serum/cerave blemish control serum depending on what I could get with employment discount
Neutrogena water gel daytime before work, Neutrogena water night cream before bed
I have a few questions about my routine😅
Firstly, I live in a very cold environment, would you still say the Water gel during the day is good, or should I get something that is a bit more thick like a cream?
Second, I work inside the whole day, and the sun is not out when I go to work and when I leave(during winter), should I still wear sunscreen?
Third, I noticed that sometimes during work that my t zone and cheeks gets a bit oily, should I then reapply the water gel, or wait until I get home and move the full night routine right after work instead of before bed?
Last question, would you swap out any of the products for something stronger/better? I am a pharmacist so I have access to any drugstore brand in Europe.
Thank you for taking time to answer and keep up the good work 😁

The issue with using a cream that contains heavy oils or petroleum jelly is that it increases the likelihood of clogged pores. Instead, you might consider using a gel with more dimethicone. You can reapply it as needed, but generally, slightly drier skin is preferable to an overly oily surface, which can lead to new breakouts. A product like CeraVe Ultra-Light Moisturizing Gel could be a good choice.
As for sunscreen, even though UV rays can penetrate clouds, I personally don't use it in such scenarios. The argument often made is that cumulative exposure over the years can lead to premature aging. However, it also depends on your comfort with using chemicals daily over several years, which could negate the benefits of sunscreen or render them less significant.
Regarding the build-up of oil, mixing it with moisturizer could potentially cause clogging. My advice is to use kitchen paper or blotting paper to dab off the excess oil, which is what I do. Then, when you get home, use a foaming cleanser to remove it. As for micellar water, I'm not sure it's the best option. I recommend a balm cleanser, like the Beauty of Joseon Radiance Cleansing Balm, which I've found works well for acne-prone skin. It's gentler, very hydrating, and shouldn't clog pores.
Overall, depending on the formulation of your CeraVe Foaming Cleanser, you might consider switching to Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser or Beauty of Joseon Radiance Cleansing Balm, as they aren't as drying. Sometimes, CeraVe's foaming cleanser can be too harsh, especially with frequent or long-term use.

It would be interesting to know if you would experience the same issues if you only consumed wild-caught fish/organic food that has not been treated in various ways. The same can apply to vegetables and fruits. Also, do you eat/drink a lot of sugary food? If yes, it would be wise to stop doing that as well to reduce your cravings and inflammation in your body. @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  ปีที่แล้ว

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel is a product that is primarily designed for facial use, as it is formulated to provide hydration to the delicate skin on the face. While it is possible to use it on other parts of the body, it may not be the most effective option for moisturizing the skin on the rest of the body.
The skin on the face is different from the skin on the body, and the formulation of facial moisturizers is typically designed to be lighter and more easily absorbed. Using a facial moisturizer on the body may not provide enough hydration, especially for areas that tend to be drier, such as the legs and arms.
Therefore, it is recommended to use a body lotion or moisturizer specifically designed for the body to ensure that it provides the necessary hydration and nourishment to the skin on the rest of the body.

Overall, you can't really compare these formulations as they contain different ingredients. Also, I haven't tried any Balea skincare products nor these Neutrogena Moisturizers, so I can't speak from my personal experience either.
Still, no, you do not need to follow with an additional moisturizer after the gel. The gel alone can be enough, given that it is suitable for your skin type. If not, you would simply look for a richer cream, but not layer two moisturizers one after the other.

In general, I wouldn’t recommend using any skincare products, as they might interfere with your skin and create issues you didn’t have before-just focus on maintaining a healthy diet (such as avoiding too much processed food, fast food, added sugar, and wheat). However, if you have dry skin or specific concerns, or if you're using treatments that cause dryness, then yes, you can use it to counterbalance the dryness.

@@Kris_413 So, this type of acne is already very different from mine, which includes Papules, Pustules, and is hormonal.
For example, whiteheads are caused by clogged pores filled with sebum (oil) and dead skin cells. Over-the-counter topical treatments containing ingredients like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and retinoids are often effective. These ingredients help to unclog pores, reduce oil production, and promote skin cell turnover. Therefore, you have a very good chance of reducing or even eliminating them with a balanced and targeted skincare routine.
Papules and Pustules can also be treated with topical products to some extent, but they may require a more robust approach due to the presence of inflammation and infection.
Hormonal acne is influenced by hormonal fluctuations and is not easily treatable, as it's affected by the body's hormonal changes.
Drinking lots of water does not help in acne treatment, as the body does not need that much. However, eating less sugar may be helpful, although for me, it does not make any difference.
My acne appears to be primarily linked to preservatives and other additives in food, although I'm not exactly sure what's causing it. It hasn't responded to the medications I've tried, though I haven't explored treatments like Accutane or other strong medical options due to their potential side effects. My husband used such treatments in his youth; while they cleared his acne, they left him with numerous small scars on his back. Given this, I prefer to avoid these treatments and accept occasional acne flare-ups until I can determine the exact cause.
