      @@TheParrottBros Are you considering putting a wing extension on the roadster? I'm just thinking looking at it in the video, black canvas roof and a black wing. It might work. My roadster came with pre-installed spacers, I always loved the way it squats in the rear.

      @@dimitrist3561 I’m going to keep the roadster stock all be it lowered but I kept the stock suspension. It would suit it but I want to just keep it stock save me some money

    Wheel spacers are a must imo I’ve got 25s all around on my 18” kamber after market wheels such a simple job with a big improvement great video Dom 👍

      Thanks buddy, yeah on stock wheels 15/20 is the ticket, on aftermarket wheels it’s all dependant on wheel offset and width. Your right though looks brilliant with spacers for sure

      It’s a great little visual upgrade, and relatively easy to do at home on the floor no special tools required.

    Great content my friend..so pretty much just big "washers" between the wheel and the hub. I always thought they bolted to the hub first. Cheers!!

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On the larger ones you can bolt the spacers down then bolt the wheels to the spacers. My only issue with those is I don’t like the idea of a steel insert pressed into aluminium. That’s all that’s holding the wheel on

    Wheel spacers are illegal in Australia unless the manufacturer fitted them. So double check if they are legal in your country. Even if they are legal where you live do your research as there are many negatives to wheel spacers.

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a great point as often in certain countries certain things can be illegal, in England they tend to be pretty relaxed about most things, if you buy aftermarket wheels you can change the office so that no spaces are required to achieve the same outcome

    Hey buddy, another superb video!
    Quick question - what’s the tyre size for the ‘Fat 5s’ for the MK1 TT? 225/45/17 or 225/50/17, or something else?
    Am leaning towards the 225/50s for a bit more comfort (but will they rub?). Will also add spacers. Car has not been lowered and current alloys are OEM 9 spokes 18”.
    Thanks so much! 👊🏼

    • @TheParrottBros

      Hey buddy, I always ran 225/45/17 and they felt lovely. Nice tyre to wheel ratio without compromising on comfort.
      Couldn’t say for sure if 50 profiles will rub but 45’s fit a dream with spacers 👌🏻

    In Australia you cannot change the track and will get your car a defect and your insurance will NOT cover you.
    And..
    The usr of those spacers are illegal because they create a shear point on the wheel stud.

    • @stevesloan6775
      @stevesloan6775 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m fairly sure you can increase track by 10mm here in Australia.
      And yes wheel spacers are illegal.

    • @tazzygeoff621
      @tazzygeoff621 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevesloan6775 you may be correct on that but that is only 5mm on each side and likely allows for slight variations in tires and rims. Otherwise the gun ho Nazis would find fault in most vehicles.
      Even with steel sizes there is a margin of variance in order to conform to and meet Australian and manufacturer Standards.

      Our laws have moved quite a bit in the right direction in the last few years.
