    Thanks for the information on Wax Begonia .
    Bought a small one recently and i really appreciate this video.
    How often do you water the mature Begonia in pots?

      You're very welcome Cynthia. Re: how often to water, check that the top 1 - 2 inches of the potting soil is dry before watering. But on average, once a week should be sufficient.

    I’d like to take cuttings from my wax begonias before our first freeze so I can replant them in spring. I’m in zone 7b. Is this a good time of year to take the cuttings? Willl I be able to keep them inside? Thanks!

    • @thelmamccatty9181

      Eax begonias are usually treated as an annual in areas such as your that experience frost and freezing temperatures. Which means you usually start with new plants in spring.
      So, while it is not the best time of the year to propagate, you can certainly do so and treat the young plant as a house plant. Place in a very bright, warm location indoors, make sure the potting mix is free-draining, and water and fertilize sparingly.
      Let us know how it turns out💕

    Can the humid chamber be used for crown of thorns too?

    • @thelmamccatty9181
      @thelmamccatty9181 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Juley, crown of thorns do not need a humid chamber as they naturally retain a lot of water in their stems. So they do not need the high humidity in a chamber to stay alive until they grow new roots.

    Did you use any rooting hormones on them?

    • @thelmamccatty9181
      @thelmamccatty9181 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, I did not. That's because they're softwood stem cuttings which have a high concentration of natural hormones and so root easily without artificial rooting hormones.
      Thanks for watching.🙏
