    Oh wow, very, very informative tutorial. I love anthuriums a lot and have killed a lot too, over the years🤦‍♀️. I am now collecting them all over again. I repotted all of mine nearly a year ago using potting soil mixed with peanut shells and cow manure and also some coir dust. I also used coconut husks to anchor the plants inside the pots. They seem to be doing much better now, but where i have them its a bit overcrowded, hoping to make some adjustments to the shade house soon.
    Thanks for imparting your knowledge to amateurs like myself, lol, I truly enjoyed👍☺

      Hi Sally, thanks for your question and your support. We're located in Jamaica and purchase coconut husks from persons who sell the dry nuts, either in markets or at selected locations along some roads.

      Hello Dianne. I usually soak the husks overnight but a 4 hour soak would be sufficient. Also if you don't have compost tea, you may use a foliar fertilizer at half strength. For examplee: 2 teaspoon 20-20-20 soluble/liquid fertilizer per gallon of water.

    Thanks for this video. What's the ratio that you used for the spray mix?

      @gardeningwithcalyx  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re welcome Kerry-Ann. I used 1 tablespoon per gallon of 20-20-20. This promotes vegetative growth as it has equal proportion of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, (as well as smaller amounts of micro elements). However, you can use any other fertilizer that has approximately equal amounts of N-P-K. For example, you may use an organic fertilizer that has a much lower concentration of nutrients. If you wish to promote vegetative growth, select a product that has approximately equal amounts of N-P-K (e.g., 5-5-5). Just follow the rate of application recommended on the product label.

      @thelmamccatty9181 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ann-Marie. Sorry for the delay, I just saw your question.
      We make our compost tea by placing one gallon of compost in a cloth bag and suspend it in a 5 gallon container filled with water. Stir well. Place in a shady area for 5 - 7 days. Stir at least twice per day. Remove the bag and use the 'tea' as a liquid fertilizer.

      Sorry I missed this question Valda. No, we do not have the resources to produce sufficient plants for sale. Our intention is to provide the info so persons such as yourself will be able to grow more of what the like. Keep watching😊🙏
