    Excellent begonia propogation video. You explained it so well. Thank you for showing exactly where to cut & the time lapse new growths. Enjoyed the one leaf separate tray way you showed. Especially enjoyed & surprised to see the one leaf in the pot & how many new shoots you got. Really cool to see how well it worked! Explaining the main veins very helpful to understand how begonias propagate. Love your sunny disposition as well. Thank you so much🥀🌷🥀🦋🐝

    Thanks so much for your tutorial very much appreciated.
    This plant called the Angel Wing Begonia was gifted to me by my brother who passed away during Covid.
    Since 2019 I have been trying to keep this plant alive.
    There was always plenty of leaves and flowers too which bloom now and then.
    Recently I had to cut the stem, put them in water and I'm so happy to see that tiny leaves have sprouted. But there are no roots.
    Please can you tell me how do I now put them in soil? Appreciate your help and guidance. Thanks, Nancy

    Hi Irene.I'm Rose. I just want to know how do you use pafcal in propagating begonias? I bought the pafcal chips recently but I'm not sure how to use them. Do you just wet them, put the cuttings in the container with perlite? Do you add the B-1 liquid as well when using Pafcal?
    In your experience does pafcal chips also work well in stem cuttings?
    when propagating cuttings do you have to put them in a heating pad or put them in a lighted area?
    Sorry i am a newbie and would like to learn more on how to propagate these plants. Thanks Irene! I follow & watch your show a lot! Love them.

      @leafing.around  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Pafcal I use it a lot for rooting and also I've mixed it in with pumice, leca, perlite for some aroids. I would not use it 100%. I think it is made from some PU and other organic material (I heard including beer hop??). It is the result of R&D of a beer company Suntory...who makes Asahi :). Try google 'pafcal' and 'suntory'

    Thank you for this informative video!! I just had one question as I have been reading that using rooting hormone with water propagation is not recommended (some say it wipes off once it enters the water, it makes the water dirty, and others simply say to avoid it), but I saw that you did it for one of the cane begonias. Have you had any issues with using rooting hormone with water propagation?

    Ive watched your videos on tropical garden. Its just so lovely. Now, why did I not think of that instead of going for flower garden and cacti which are harder to maintain.

    Hi Irene, thanks for the great tutorial. I've been looking for guides in our uumid climate and am so glad you came out with this. My propagation leaves just tend to rot away. Any idea why? Could. It be cos my medium. Is too wet? I've tried coco peat, potting mix, pafcal+pumice. Same thing. Thanks!

      I find some type of begonias tend to rot more than others...I am not sure why either. Maybe open and let the container breath more often?
