South means not only kerala, tamilnadu.
There is telugu and kannada people
We are also south and we have also great culture and tradition.

Anonymous Anonymous who talked about dravidian?
Dravid is a sankrit word which means place where three ocean meet i..e south india near kerala and Tamilnadu.
Coming to south India. There is no official south India. If we want to go by north and south. Then below vindya and satpura mountains is south India.
Goa is way below telangana. So if telangana is south india then goa wins by a big margin.

Humans didn't just pop out of nowhere. They evolved through the years. Likewise language doesnt just develop out of nowhere.
Isn't it crazy to think the all the grammar popped up just like that? It takes time for them to develop.
And the only way people can find out about age of languages is when they look at written data. Tamil is found out to be one of the oldest languages because we can analyze its texts and what if there was another language which didn't make it to the written form?
Just because I say Tamil is not the oldest language doesn't make me a Sanskrit lover. Disrespecting another language to uphold yours is not a good option and calling me a pig shows how arrogant you are.

Being from NorthEast, I have the privilege of being lived in North as well as South India. From my first hand experience and observation after living several years in both North and South, I find that so many people from north are racist, ignorant and some are dumb and stupid af. Dont get me wrong here, I'm not generalizing all the north Indians. But I find more such kind of people in the north than in the south.
South Indians are nice, friendly and always ready to help when in need. And they tend to have better understanding of other peoples culture in different parts of the country. I guess what i meant to say is south indians are more civilized and more educated than the northern counter parts. And most importantly, south indians are secular.

I am from Bengal. I visited both north and south India many a times my personal work; but I would say South India is way better than the North. I am saying this because, they are well educated, more civilized and have more civic and hygienic sense than most of the people of the northern states(except Punjab). I found that states like Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu are more clean than most of the northern states like UP, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Chandigarh. I just put my opinion as an east Indian and I am honest about my views. If I am biased, I am sorry for that, but what I had said is the harsh truth. Anyways, I love both North and South. I love my India. Jai Hind

Anshul Sharma Thanks for your pragmatic thinking.. I have been staying in a Punjabi colony here in central Delhi, I like the Punjabi food and the people are really good.
For all my north brothers and sisters....
Many north Indians mock at me saying ohhhh you a madrasi? Idly Sambar, on skin complexion and the list goes on.. One day a Rajasthani girl happened to say that all the south Indians are Rakshas Jati and they are Dravidians.. I come from an orthodox strictly cultural family, I felt very low inside when she was saying this thing.. I believe, although north people are good to others they have to come out from that dogma ki they are superior race and white in colour.. I believe it's just a pigmentation problem, what one can I do with the skin colour... And yes we are Dravida... It was Guru Shankaracharya, a Kerala Bramhin identified himself as Dravida when he was aksed of his whereabouts by a north indian, Dravida means where 3 seas meet ( drava means liquid, Google the etymology). For that matter we in south have 7 avatars of Vishnu and north has only 2 i.e., Ram and Krishna, the rest 7 took place in south like Narasimha, Kurma, and Varaha in Andhra Pradesh, Parashuram, Vaaman in Kerala and I find people in North India do not celebrate those festivals, may be they don't like south indian incarnations of lord Vishnu. And they also say, we are guarding the border and south Indians do not participate in army for protecting the nation... For those people, who are working in DRDO, ISRO making India secure?? the other day I was reading Economic Survey of India, I felt very happy that south India take back only 32 paise for every rupee it contributes to the nation, while North India ( avg. 1.8 rupees) specially hindi speaking belts like UP and Bihar take 2.80 and 3.2 rupees for every rupee they contribute to the central government... and out of 6-7 net contributing states 4 are in south.. except Delhi and Gujarat rest all the states run with fiscal defects, get central funds to run their business unlike south states. We loose 0.70 rupees for every rupee contribution to the centre but still we feel happy because we know how we can make development in south but the poor states like Jharkhand, UP, Bihar, MP need funds to get the basic needs and infrastructure. But, I'm very optimistic, one day not too long from now, such stereotypes in the India society will not exist, I'm happy to see many north Indians working in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad... making their homes.. I remember my grand father teaching me what is India, he says according to Vedas, India is one which is sandwiched between River Sindhu and Sindhu Samudra... You can refer to the shlok it goes like this Aa Sindhu Sindhu paryantahm..... We south Indians cannot live without lord Ram yaar, and do respect our local culture.. we believe India is one and we have to go together not with such stereotypes.. I may felt a bit emotional and sentimental, sorry if I hurt any one. Thank you.

I am from Odisha, Our breakfast starts with Idly/vada/dosa/samosa/aloochop ( half north half south ). Also we have our own version of (Dosa + Roti )/2 = Chakuli.
We are hard rice eating people at lunch.( may be South influence ) , we have our own curd rice ( pakhal )
Curries are watery and fries are Dry ( Dryier Than North Cuisins ) Gradually we move to Roti/Paratha to Dinner.( North.. May be ).
People wear Lungi/Dhoti at house normally , when they go out they prefer north indian dressing style.
Some districts like Rayagada/Brahmapur are fluent in telugu, while Kalahandi,Balangir some speaks better hindi. Of course we speak Odia all.
There is not much discremenation there. We love all.

    • @RakeshKumarMishra1986
      @RakeshKumarMishra1986 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

There are several reasons, why Telugu people and Odia people generally get along.
      1. We share Bay of Bengal, sometimes flood, Any time a low pressure is formed in Bay of bengal, AP and Odisha are combined more affected.
Of course sea route is a mean of communication and trading route. I believe most of the Fish product consumed in Odisha are from Andhra.
      2. There are almost 90% cook and 80% support staff in Hyderabad from Odisha. They mingled so well with local population sometimes, its hard to find the difference. AP/Telangana is so courteous to accommodate us. You visit any paradise hotel and see Odia's cooking and serving there.
Of course , 50% security personnel in any private security agency also are Odia.
      3. Many Odisha districts depends heavily on Vishakhapatnam for their medical treatment. almost all western and southern districts come to vishakhapatnam for their medical issues reosolved.
4, IT industry is greatly shared between these two states. There are tons of Odia working in Hyderabad and a better percentage of Telugu IT professionals starts their career in Bhubaneswar. Academically also, people from Odisha sent their kids to Andhra for schooling.
      5. Govt.s in both the states don't fight ( Its a trend these days to fight over issues to create division in society )
But mostly I feel its the people of both the states they like being in company with each other and usually matches in tastes.

Maharashtra is technically and culturally South India. It is just that we can speak Hindi. AAI is a Tamil origin word. Aaji Ajoba are kannada origin words. Bhakri is staple food of Maharashtra and Karnataka. Lugda worn by Old women is same as that worn by Kannada and Telugu people. See the managalsutra worn by women same as Karnataka or Kasuta (type of wearing sadi ) of Maharashtra is same as that of Tamils.
Even Marathi was written in MODI lipi was much like Kannada.
So you are not neutral here..😂😂
Jokes apart.. Lingayat samaj and Deshatra Brahmins in Southern Maharashtra and Northern Karnataka have two mother tongues both Marathi and Kannada.
Now you will ask me how do I know this so... My bff is Marathi... and half her Family is Kannadiga.(from her mom's side) Her mom's mom is Marathi but her Mama is Kannadiga.

@S K I don't know whether you belong to south or north. Its my duty to pitch. Kannada is like soul to me. I am pretty sure I cannot live without soul.
Note: if you don't believe in soul concept take it as brain.
I rather throw some shit on hindi rather than throwing that away.
Now let me enter to the main stream topic. North and South.
      1. Karnataka is one place many worlds.
      2. Bengaluru is the most dynamic city in the world.
      3. It has got more livelihood and best climate whatsoever.
      4. You can experience all sort of climate from hot tropical to rainy to cold weather and what not.
      5. It has got diversity in food I mean to say the north Indian food is better cooked and served in Karnataka.
      6. If you go and ask dosa or idli you will get that in South, however, if you ask for roti, kulcha, naan panner based food, butter based and all and you name it we serve it to its best at the nominal price.
      6. Coming to cleanlyness. I have travelled all in South and North. South is cleaner and "Mysuru" is named as cleanest city in India.
      7. Concepts of toilets for every home is was eventually adopted a centuries ago in South India
      8. We in Karnataka experience lesser climatic fluctuations compared to any place in South and no comments for north.
      9. We people of Karnataka try to speak telugu, tamil, malayalam, ofcourse Hindi and other languages too to certain extent because we care about the people.
      10. Bangalore is startup capital of world
      11. Karnataka was the first place to get electricity in india.
      12. Karnataka has got the world's largest solar power plant.
      13. Karnataka has got many scientific and research institutions like iisc, iit Dharwad, raman research institute
      14. Bangalore is the silicon valley of India.
In general term if someone want to answer, how many kannadigas are there in north India and how many north Indians are there in Bangalore.
Coming to our brothers in South
      1. It happened to me in Kerala where highway patrol jeep was driven in the wrong direction at a speed on almost 80kmph. The people there never care about others travelling on the road
      2. Andhra people are more in Bangalore than a proper banglorean.
      3. Tamilians, though they boast Kannada is derived out of tamil. If you see the alphabets of tamil all five consonants are expressed or written with the same letter. They don't have the differentiation in letters. However, we kannadigas we explored and evolved into the new language. Tamilians boast about Kannada derived out of it but apparently forget that Kannada literature has got more Jnanapitha prize for literature. That is 8 in number. But tamilians stop saying that Kannada derived from tamil and start thinking about winning some literature prize.
      4. Goto any state in South India other than Karnataka it is very hard to find the food that can please all kind of people. Apparently that happens in Karnataka.
      5. Karnataka has got some richest wild lives when compared to any other states in South India.
      6. Apparently tamilians has forgot that their Rajnikanth he is from Karnataka, jailalitha she is from Karnataka.
Do you anything to say guys. I dint mean to offend any one here I just wanted to share the facts.

Okay, so I have been observing all the comments here, and sadly I noticed that all my Indian brothers and sisters are fighting just because of their cultures. Don't forget that India is Unity in Diversity. Always remember that United we Stand, Divided we Fall. People like them divide India, and seriously, to be honest, North, South, East and West India doesn't matter at all. India is just one. Indians are one. We are obviously diverse, and that's what makes us : INDIA. So we need to be united and support each other. If you keep dividing and fighting among yourselves then countries like China, Pakistan, USA, etc will find an opportunity to capture India. India definitely needs to empower it's economy and we will surely one day get a permanent seat in the UN Council. And, one more thing, whether it's North India or South India, East India or West India, each part of India is dependent on each other. If you look at the number of jobs, education, etc there are many people from different parts of India working and studying together. If you divide India, then we will never become a superpower nation. IMF has said that India will rule the world's economy by 2050. Did they mention which part of India? NO! So, it's better that we work together and stop discriminating against our own fellow countrymen. All parts of India, whether North or south are beautiful. Stop comparing India with India! God Bless My Country! 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳

I've a dream of visiting South India, specially Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Though I'm not saying that my North Indian friends are not good. They're also very good. Even my North East Indian friends are also excellent.

I am from North India and living in Chennai I love this place specially there food idly and dosa😂😂😂 also the things here are much more organized as compared to Delhi and rest of north....one more thing that adds pros this side of our motherland is the greenery and cleanliness I go for running and always see the park as clean as it was the other day....while in UP from my native place no offense the parks are not maintained at this level.
The only con which I have faced here is language problem people don't know Hindi sometimes nor English and that is what makes unwanted situation to handle especially with our maid😂😂😂 also people are always angry and sometimes I feel that by asking someone a thing also can award me a slap...but I know that in there deep in their hearts is lots of love and I experience it sometimes. That is only beauty of our incredible India.

Ya the language problem is a real thing here. Most here speak only the one native language. At most, you could see only bilinguals that too with only English as the other language.
I'm a Chennai guy and IDK Hindi. lol. Almost all other South Indian cities are trilingual in that they speak at least broken Hindi.

    • @TheGanesanem
      @TheGanesanem 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Ludic, Just my humble observation. You seems to generalising the language problem based of the cities. A city is a very small part of the State. In other southern state the same issue exist in sub urban and rural. Most of the States in India is made up of Rural and Sub urban. We have to get that in to the account while we say something.

Ludic India reorganised its state based on languages every state must speak their languages only their languages if move to another city or state learn their language thats it. there is no need to be trilingual. may be when the day comes where Hindi states like Bihar, UP, MP adopts trilingual formula and learn tamil. we may we too adopt that. dont be a jerk to ask southern people to learn nothern language without asking nothern people to learn southern languages.
