As a foreigner who has visited and lived in India countless times and has a lot of Indian friends, here is why I think… 1. Lack of manners and personal space - There is a stereotype of Americans being loud, but it doesn’t even come close to Indian. I’ve seen this everywhere in foreign countries. It’s like the hunger games, cutting in line. You see it everyday in the mentality of Indians, where wedding parties aren’t about playing beautiful music, but trying to bang drums the loudest and get the attention of others to look at them. You’ll also see it with street vendors, who yell at the top of their lungs to sell stuff. Constantly honking is another example of this. Even on airplanes which only elites of India can afford has a lack of manners and etiquette. The moment the plane lands, people are rushing off with zero consideration for others. The littering is out of control, with most having the belief that it’s their right to throw their trash on the ground, as it’s the street cleaners job to pick it up. The excuses are laughable and sad, I was in a car with a highly educated guy, 23 years old, earned around $114,000 a year, and threw trash out of the car saying that if he doesn’t litter the street cleaner will lose his job 🤦🏼♂️ 2. Delusional nationalism- Although not every Indian is like this, they are many that refuse to see any criticism of India. If a foreigner points out India having cleanliness issues they say “you are only showing the bad side of India”, and whine that they didn’t show DLF CyberCity which 99.9% of India doesn’t look like. There’s no hiding it, you can go on street view and see India is still very behind, with the exception of some luxury apartment towers, shopping malls, metro, new highways, but average Indian neighborhood is still in a bad condition, and quite dirty. How will it change if many refuse to see those issues? 3. Scam call centers - It has gotten so bad if most Westerners hear an Indian accent they assume it’s a scam and hang up, cause sadly it mostly likely is. To be fair the average Indian is not involved in scamming people, but it’s so prominent as millions of Indians work in legitimate call centers, and these massive lists for American corporations get sold off, and then youth will start their own scamming operation, as they are already trained and have access to millions of potential victims. I know I’m being a bit harsh, but it’s just the truth. However I will say, if you befriend an Indian who TRULY becomes your friend, the hospitality they provide you with is unmatched. So many cooked me food, gave me rides, let me stay at their home, and treated me like I was apart of their family with no agenda or strings attached. India continues to be a place I have a love hate relationship with, and the hospitality and many great friends is the silver lining that has me coming back.
Indians only thinks about Religion, Reservation, Freebies and Government jobs for Free. They cannot think above it as our Society, our people all are Fxcked Up and they never let any Visionary leader to rise up as they think "He/She will end Constitution and will become dictator and end Reservation"

Im malaysian of indian (tamil) ancestry. I visited my sister who was studying in mysore. I got instant migraine triggered by the constant horning of vehicles on the road. You will not hear a single horn sound on malaysian roads. Horns are only used for emergency as a warning signal. The first thing i saw as we left bangalore airport was a man peeing in between well manicured plants on the roadside. It was such a cliched sight. I also saw cows strolling casually on the roads and standing inside empty abandoned house. India can improve by leaps and bounds when it comes to basic things like this... My Indian neighbours are like this, its like simple considerations has to be taught. First, They would leave their shoes all over the common area, meaning i have to kick their shoes to the side since its at the middle of the path, i stay in an apartment with 4 units on each floor btw. Second, they would air their sheets/carpets on the railings of the common area, god the smell... On being dirty, they let their kids run around bare footed on the common area, i once took a few steps to pick up something outside my door and my feet was dirty already, i cant imagine how bad the inside of their house it. The worst one, the other Indian family on the opposite side of my unit does this too, they would let their door slam by itself, making a loud bang everytime they open the door, so imagine you're chilling at home, and at random intervals, bang...bang...bang, I had to go over to tell them to close their doors properly, I even offer to buy then a door stopper. Of cos I did it with a friendly tone, after that they eventually stop, but it's sad that a 26yo have to teach a family of 4 how to CLOSE THE DAMN DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!!! Some players, confused about my identity and mistaking me for someone from South India, start throwing terms like 'kala' or 'idli dosa' at me, which I don't understand. Every Indian, Bangladeshi and Pakistani needs to watch this video. Its not only an Indian problem, its a South Asian problem. Our culture as a South Asian is very chaotic and rowdy, unfortunately.

Finally voicing out what i have been saying for years. Even in the UK, discrimination exists because indians sticking to their community and those areas look like india.
As a Canadian who has worked with A LOT of Indians I can say these criticisms are a very common behavior among NRI. Apparently even when they live in other countries, they take the bad behavior and bring it with them.
I'm disheartened to see many people getting defensive instead of using criticism as an opportunity for growth and change. How can we progress if our mindset is limited by racism, casteism, sexism, and other forms of discrimination? Just because India is a large and developing country with its own set of challenges, it doesn't mean we should accept the status quo. We can't use our population and developmental stage as excuses for tolerating unhygienic conditions, inequality, and social injustices.Stifling voices that call for change will only hinder our progress. Just because the current system works for some individuals, it doesn't mean it works for everyone. We need to foster a culture of open-mindedness, critical thinking, and constructive dialogue. Let's embrace information and perspectives that challenge our beliefs, rather than dismissing them outright. We must encourage diverse viewpoints, question existing norms, and strive for continuous improvement. Only then can we work towards creating a more equitable, just, and prosperous society for all.
India's GDP is amongst the lowest. The economy is largely feudal ( as a disproportionately large number of workers are stuck in agricultural activity. Most of them are landless. Doing away with multiple taxes , octroi etc took 70 yrs. This should ideally have been done in the 60s. In most areas things have been allowed to decay and changes can now only be done slowly amidst massive opposition. Lack of infrastructure kept the country feudal & it's only got attention in the last decade. In short , industrialization & growth are the only way out.
@@discomallu9769 I agree India's economy needs change, but it's not just about industrialization and growth. We need to address the root causes - feudalism, unsustainable agriculture, corruption, and infrastructure gaps. And let's be honest, it's also about changing mindsets - breaking free from biases like casteism and sexism. But education alone can't shift mindsets, it requires a cultural evolution. And that's the irony - a developed nation with an underdeveloped mindset won't go far. We can't just build skyscrapers and highways, we need to build a society that values equality, empathy, and progress. Otherwise, we'll remain stuck in a cycle of growth without genuine development.

Unfortunately, Indians are bred as a slave class right from their birth. Due to Brahmins who are called upon for birth, marriage, and death. This stranglehold is a tight grip that slave Indians cannot escape from.

As a foreigner who has visited and lived in India countless times and has a lot of Indian friends, here is why I think…
1. The excuses are laughable and sad, I was in a car with a highly educated guy, 23 years old, earned around $114,000 a year, and threw trash out of the car saying that if he doesn’t litter the street cleaner will lose his job 🤦🏼♂️

In 2000 we immigrated to Canada. The anti Indian hate here really ramped up in the past 10 years. It's to the point that if I pick up the phone and hear an Indian accent I immediately hang up, because I can't trust the person not being a scammer calling me to get my personal information. The lack of personal hygiene is also a massive concern. My wife is east Asian. When my mother in law first found out about me she asked my wife if I smell (because I'm brown). My wife told her not to worry because he's not Indian lmao. This is how bad it is. The lack of social awareness among Indians is shocking.
Oh the place i work, the Indian workers would play their music so loudly that i have to tell them to lower it down.

I fully resonate with the points made in this video. As a Nepali playing on the Mumbai server in Valorant, I've often encountered situations where, once Indian players realize I'm Nepali, 7 out of 10 times they start calling me names like 'momos,' 'sabji,' or 'bahadur.' Some players, confused about my identity and mistaking me for someone from South India, start throwing terms like 'kala' or 'idli dosa' at me, which I don't understand.

And let's be honest, it's also about changing mindsets - breaking free from biases like casteism and sexism. But education alone can't shift mindsets, it requires a cultural evolution. And that's the irony - a developed nation with an underdeveloped mindset won't go far.
