Very interesting! I have a Canadian '15 328i xDrive that has the intake pieces standard. It's been very cold here in the winter, getting to nearly -40c at times. Just this morning on my drive into work it was -21c. I'm kinda thinking of doing the reverse for the winter, removing the bend and blocking off the grill area port!
@@MDrives yeah, come to think about it doesn’t make a lot of sense. We’ve had a few days earlier in the year where it got close to -40c. Even though it’s been closer to 0c recently, I converted my intake to the Hot Climate intake and seems to get up to temp faster.
It’s not useless, it sucks in warmer air from the inside of the engine bay area so the engine warms up quicker and helps with keeping emissions low in the first few minutes.
Looks a useful mod. Where did you buy it from and do the 140's with the PPF have the air intake on both sides. I also noticed your friend still has the resonator on the intake pipe has he thought about changing it to a straight through pipe. Williams performance sell them at a good price.
He got it from BMW. I doubt ppf models would have two intakes. Good shout about that resonator. I’ll have a chat with him as he might want to do this mod.
@@MDrives Yes it's for hot countries where it doesn't rain much either. There's a reason why it's not fitting to cars coming to the UK because it's always cold and wet there.
You made this look very easy to install, took me probably an hour with swearing breaks included 😂
I have to admit it took us about 30 min to do it too.
God you made this look easy. Even with my child sized hands I struggled to get it to mate up to the plastic perfectly!
Thanks. I admit, it wasn’t easy. But definitely doable.

I’m surprised to hear that you have it on your car, living in such a cold area.

Same parts for the f32/f33/f36 B46/B48, but my 430i already had this fitted.
Possibly it was part of the M-Sport package.
Depends on the climate you live in.
Would be interesting if it had a front grill air scoop attachment as well
I don't think this is necessary with turbo engine.
Thanks for this. So if you don’t have this, is the air conduct that leads to the airbox completely useless and where does the airbox take air from??

thank you! could I message you quickly somewhere for some advice ? @@MDrives

Hej 🙋🏻♂️
is it possible that water can be sucked in by the intake now when its raining?
No chance. It’s the same in M2
@@MDrives alright
What a patience ! Enjoy it.
No offense but your accent isn't Scottish, am i wrong?

I don't get why you removed the torx screws.
Which ones?
@@MDrives the ones you Put back at the end of the Videos. Under the hood
@@gudelauneee too remove the grill
when it rains, there is no risk of water entering the filter?
There isn’t. It’s a genuine bmw intake which normally you can find in countries where is hot.

Do you have the part number or link for it?

Lube lube lube
Lube what? 🤔
No difference
Interesting video but kind of useless if you don’t know the part number or where to get it. Too bad it’s not mentioned
