@@ffotograffydd Yes, I have watched about every LBX review on TH-cam and the steering wheel buttons have been criticised. I drove a Volvo that had that beeping noise when I was over the speed limit. I only had the car for a week so I didn’t fool around with the settings. If they could have a setting to increase the speed where it beeps would help.
A little off-topic, maybe, but local authorities need to up their game considerably in terms of keeping speed limit signs clean, clear of vegetation, and fully visible to keep up with this wonderful “safety” tech we are having to endure through regulation.

Hello Trish nice video. A few things: the intrusive speed limiting warning is a MANDATORY EU regulation for all cars that are sold from July 2024. All cars MUST behave like this. I almost bought it but I ended up ordering the Puma because the Ford dealer made me a better offer…and because the Puma is a truly beautiful car.
Did I not say in the video about it being mandatory? Maybe I didn’t as I’ve been saying it in many others. I have no issues with the safety features but some are definitely better than others at getting 1. The volume low enough so you can hear it but it doesn’t drive you made and 2. Finding a way to turn these systems off easily if you choose to do so. You make some very good points ☺️ Puma is a great car!
Ugly ?!? Are you smoking or something ?!? It’s one of the most beautiful design car there is ! Looks more like a Puma cat than your “puma car” to be honest !
Nice review, but I had to laugh when you said " you have to turn off all the traffic sign recognition and then you don't know the speed that you should be going " , how did you know before they had all this technology, you used your eyes !. I still use my eyes because the traffic sign recognition in my car often gets the speed limit wrong.
Do not get such expensive but small/limited car, for similar price (mine was 35k euro) you can get full options Qashqai for example. So for similar or slightly more you are getting several times better car.
In fact you can turn off the acoustic speed limit sound alone, without completely turning off RSA (road sign assist). Just read the manual before shooting a video like this.
Very good review, but the engines are exactly the same, 1.5 litre, 3 cylinder, naturally aspirated Atkinson cycle (rather than Otto cycle). The extra power / torque comes from a more powerful electric motor. It really isn't worth the extra cost.
Yeah the "newer" second half 2024 model is really a waste of money compared to the "older" first half 2024 model. And the best part of the older first half 2024 is no freaking annoying beeping "over speed" alarm. On my first half 2024 model, I don't have that beeping and can still see how much is the speed limit. Best part of both worlds! No regrets!

No-one should need a car to tell them the speed limit-that's what the highway code is for, and your knowledge thereof. When you sign your driving licence, you undertake to remain up to date with motoring law. Only saying.
Any review that starts out talking colours and front end appeal is probably not going to be good. The Cross has good clearance and large boot space. The CHR has a 1.8 or 2.00 litre engine versus the Cross 1.5. that says it all. If you do a lot of motorway driving get the CHR even if the boot is smaller. If you live in the countryside with a dirt road approach the Cross is great and around town or occasionally on motorway. Why does she not tell us this.
This "saving money city car" is from £25,000... for the base spec! There are literally hundreds of options to save more money... Buy a Dacia Spring BEV for £14,950 with fuel consumption equivalent to 200mpg.... With the £10,000+ saved you could buy 2yr old Citroën E-C4 (with heads up display). The options are out there if you look and saving money is your priority.
Nope. Wouldn't be seen dead in the likes of a crappy electric Dacia Spring or Citroen E-C4. Lots of things in life are cheaper. Doesn't mean that's the way to go! Would rather spend an extra few quid on a higher quality vehicle. This thing will outlive the aforementioned EV's too.
@jdmguy44 Your arrogance.... Dream on if you believe BEVs and Hybrids do not have a place in the world. Hopefully one day when you open your eyes and actually experience things outside your own town, you might realise there's more to life than an overpriced Toyota. As for reliability.... Ask the 100,000+ Tundra owners who have just had all of their "quality" Toyota's recalled for catastrophic engine failures.
Maybe I worded it incorrectly, I don’t mind and I understand it’s importance to road safety however, I think maybe the sound level is the issue here. Other brands have hit the volume level better, so you can hear it but it’s not ruining your driving experience. (It also makes a sound when the speed limit changes - so not just when you’re doing something wrong)
I like the Yaris Cross,my Mrs has a 2022 model, great features and it's been totally reliable. I'm not a fan of the CH-R, so dark and dingy in the back plus the new one just looks weird
Oft, the top spec is encroaching on BMW 1 Series M Sport money. I know where I'd rather put my fun tokens, especially given that the BMW is in the top 10 most reliable.
Just looks like sooooo many others, as they spend their lives in towns and cities, usually seen with one person the driver, exactly what is a cross over jelly mould, looks like a four door golf, or any hatchback.
Traffic sign recognition is rubbish in all cars I've driven with it. Easily mi's reads signs and countless times it's told me the wrong speed, once told me 70mph but I was in a 30mph 🤣 Wouldn't miss that feature, I have eyes that are better that reading signs
There is a stretch locally where the road has a 40 mph limit but it runs alongside the railway which has a 70 mph.speed limit sign, which the car sometimes (but not always!) pcks up!
I've never liked the front grill and I still don't. I find the dashboards in current Toyota's very old fashioned by latest designs and I have a Toyota.
This car is generally poorly built. Body panel fittings are subpar, especially the tailgate which in every single unit is significantly misaligned, including the rear window and tailights.
Why would you buy a Yaris cross over a cHR? Two reasons, number one, most of us are poorer than you, and cant afford the payments, number two, the cHR looks lilke it came out of a parody sci-fi movie. The design is clearly lacking, its entirely functional

Nice but I would buy a Honda Jazz.
Very efficient and reliable small suv but inside so cheap feeling plastic
Tell me a car that's not ?
@doncarter4172 I really like interior of Hyundai kona hybrid which is similar price
Its a car designed for old people. Its very popular with the over 60s here in Ireland.
That’s me, I’m old.
A bit ageist 😅
@@ianmcmillan5590 Maybe but it's true. It used to be the Corolla now it's this.
@@sharonec5419 and to think I was going to buy a secondhand one , now what 🙃
@@ianmcmillan5590 lol. DO.
Was that Anroid Auto/Carplay on the top trim only?
On all the trim level
Toyota CHR Aygo X & Raize dose models cannot come to South Africa .
Already had 2 of these (leasing), supergood on fuel consumption and no nonsense car but too bouncy on bad roads and too plastic feeling interior.
I enjoyed watching the video, I actually prefer the C-HR as I like styling more 😊
Good morning
How are you
This is a Cross I'd be happy to bear!
the chr made me feel claustrophobic tbh. hated it lol
@@jdmguy44 Good for you.... Dream on.
@@mikadavies660 "Dream on" for what exactly??
@jdmguy44 Your arrogance.... Dream on if you believe BEVs and Hybrids do not have a place in the world. Hopefully one day when you open your eyes and actually experience things outside your own town, you might realise there's more to life than an overpriced Toyota. As for reliability.... Ask the 100,000+ Tundra owners who have just had all of their "quality" Toyota's recalled for catastrophic engine failures.
@@mikadavies660 You seem to be getting a bit uptight Mika. Take a chill pill. All that stress can't be good for your health!
Front grill design is different here in UK other countries Yaris cross grill look much better.
CHR is alot more expensive for a start !
I do not understand why you don't like to be warned when you are going over speed limit? It is vital for your and other road user's safety, isn't it?
Maybe I worded it incorrectly, I don’t mind and I understand it’s importance to road safety however, I think maybe the sound level is the issue here. Other brands have hit the volume level better, so you can hear it but it’s not ruining your driving experience. (It also makes a sound when the speed limit changes - so not just when you’re doing something wrong)
Cause it's annoying just for 1 or 2 miles over
Had a loan Aygo X 24 for a day, the speed limit beeps drove me bonkers.
Tich Cormack are car tester long hair of Britain her name is Tish .
Holl good morning
I like the Yaris Cross,my Mrs has a 2022 model, great features and it's been totally reliable.
I'm not a fan of the CH-R, so dark and dingy in the back plus the new one just looks weird
Agreed, the CHR is a bit dark in the rear seats. The panoramic roof fixes that although it is an expensive option.
I get that mpg from my honda ehrv, and its far superior to that
Poor at best but found out after I bought one….
Traffic sign recognition is rubbish in all cars I've driven with it. Easily mi's reads signs and countless times it's told me the wrong speed, once told me 70mph but I was in a 30mph 🤣
Wouldn't miss that feature, I have eyes that are better that reading signs
There is a stretch locally where the road has a 40 mph limit but it runs alongside the railway which has a 70 mph.speed limit sign, which the car sometimes (but not always!) pcks up!
Good car no doubt but front end styling is not my cup of tea! Why cant toyota hire better designers like mazda. Its embarrassingly unattractive.
I've never liked the front grill and I still don't. I find the dashboards in current Toyota's very old fashioned by latest designs and I have a Toyota.
Again someone testing a car without knowing how the cvt gearbox works

Facelift …….
This is the worst review I've seen it
@@kerar87 thanks, where can I watch yours? ☺️
Oooooh, naughty comeback :) getting angry are we? Lol
From day one i dont like it
This car is generally poorly built. Body panel fittings are subpar, especially the tailgate which in every single unit is significantly misaligned, including the rear window and tailights.
Sorry Tish, but it’s a no from me for both this and the CH-R (is that what it’s called? Toyota naming beats me). I think both are ugly & pointless
Why would you buy a Yaris cross over a cHR? Two reasons, number one, most of us are poorer than you, and cant afford the payments, number two, the cHR looks lilke it came out of a parody sci-fi movie. The design is clearly lacking, its entirely functional
@@fabulously695 this would have been such a balanced comment had you not thrown in ‘poorer than you’ you know absolutely nothing about my circumstances. I drive a VW Up! 👍🏼
You're a bit of a feisty one you are aren't you? Lol :)
A Renault Captur is much nicer and classier too.
Yaris Ugly Cross :D looks like a wasp
Awful design. Front end is like a Piccanto . Wheel arches bulky .
