I drive the 2023 CHR Sport here in Ireland. Love the quietness of the car The 2023 model has a rear wiper; no rear window wiper would be a terrible mistake with our dark, rainy climate and water constantly splashing up from the streets!

You’re right, it seems an odd choice to remove. Hopefully I can test it in bad weather next and see how bad it gets without one

I have been driving a 2012 Prius since 11 1/2 years now and the engine noise was never an issue !
What are you folks keeping complaining about ?
Every engine is noticeable if you press the accelerator hard !
By the way I haven't had a single problem up to now !
No not even a broken brake lamp !
    Try to beat that .
I agree with the screen though.
Why have a 12,2 inch screen which only can show either Navigation or audio ?
Why not both at the same time along other Information ?
Hopefully it will get an Update !
I have no idea why Toyoya felt it would hurt the design to include a rear wiper !?
Yes rain may be blown off while driving, but that won't help while a standstill !

I fell for that same marketing gibberish about no need to have a rear wiper with the hyundai ioniq..never again..i was constantly cleaning the back window..with irish climate and irish roads a rear wiper is essential and i know a lot of people on mainland UK think the same. Frustrating decision to remove rear wiper ..especially as rear visibility is already poor. Even MG listened to feedback and have re-instated the rear wiper on the new MG4 models. Deal breaker.

Right off the bat: the style! Loving those LED headlamps. Kinda reminds me of the Prius. Overall this is very eye-catching for a Compact High Rider. Despite its flaws, I think we're looking at a potential top selling crossover SUV. I see many of the previous models here in Jamaica, so I know this will do quite well over here.

Good drive but for me it has two weaknesses 1. Not possible to turn off daytime running lights, even when parked for twenty minutes awaiting the wife 2. It’s necessary to keep the engine running, when parked and listening to the radio, just so that the 46Ah 12v battery doesn’t go flat. Basic design faults for me. 0:16

  • @timogronroos4642

The black rear is just for the early cars, a marketing gimmick. It's not a continuing option, there's too much fuzz about it . For my eye, it looks horrible and will get old soon. The normal two color option looks much more stylish, which was supposed to be the theme for this vehicle. The black rear makes C-HR look even smaller, two separate cars. Driving the first generation full pearl white colour C-HR. The design of the first generation stays bolder than this, especially in the rear. The PHEV version is way too expensive, you could almost buy a new Long Range Tesla M3 at that price. Price wise the 1.8 is the only semi-sane option here.

Essential in our climate to have a rear wiper… all this about water flow is ok but the turbulent road spray just sh1ts the rear up , glass and camera alike…

Honda had the same idea with the 8th Gen Civic. Yes the water runs off when you are driving but not when you first get in the car, especially in the winter where the window is obscured by rain or ice! Try reversing it, a camera is fine but you do need to look out of the window, especially when the sun is low and completely obscures the camera view with yellow flare! It was to be honest a complete and utter nightmare and Honda had so much bad feedback about it that they then reinstated it in the 9th, 10th and 11th gen Civic! Would never buy a car without one ever again!

    Another good honest review, Tish!
I just don't like the styling, its better than the old one, which was an abomination.
The tiny rear windows made the old one claustrophobic inside and that hasn't changed.
    I don't like the bi-tone paint either!
