On another note. I downloaded it on game pass. The game is so dark. I tried gamma 100% still hard to see stuff in darker areas. It’s a shame as I like it.
I'm finishing the game and I don't have enough iron to upgrade my second hand weapon (hammer) to get the achievement. There's very little loot in the game and it doesn't appear after the world is reset. Did you upgrade all the weapons in one playthrough?
You cannot upgrade all items, there's simply not enough resources. I ended up with helm, 2 melee weapons, one grenade and the main flintlock upgraded to max, then a couple others upgraded once or twice.
Got this and i guessed right on the kind of god enki is withering curses and marks of death duh an easy give away a god of life would have full control over that domain not the god of death
Pity that they did not go a little more deeper about gods. When you said that Enki is a lesser god I was hoping that they took some inspiration from Terry Pratchet book Small Gods.
Just played it on seriesx performance mode. No problems, technically. Wont give up on it just yet as the movement feels good to use but not feeling the combat yet.
Demo felt solid for me. And at the price I feel good about a day 1 purchase. Hopefully it can find a market. And maybe we can even get a sequel which addresses some issues and innovates further.
The game is decent. Story and characters are irrelevant. Exploration and combat are the best things here. Enjoying my time with it. If it wasnt on Gamepass I'd wait for a sale.
I am enjoying the game I think the combat is indeed very fun, the story is about on par with a lot of modern games, nothing special but not bad either. What I am wondering is how he beat the game so fast, and how the "how long to beat" has this game at 8-14 hours. I've been playing for 50 hours and I am not yet done. I am not a slow gamer that I know of but wtf. Did anyone else who isn't Mort play this game here? How long did it take you? Did anyone take over 40 hours or am I just a slow ass motherfucker on this one. . . I have been doing all side quests and some of them did take me a while just to figure out where to go, which was my one gripe but I suck at finding stuff in games sometimes.
Thanks for the time and information! I think I may pick this one up. I was on the fence but August for Star Wars and wu Kong seems too far away lol! I’m replaying farcry 6 now mixed with Helldivers
Stuff like this doesnt really require anything besides just playing the game all the way through, plus a lot of games released these days don't have insanely obscure stuff anyway. Other times I either figure it out on my own, or I miss the embargo, which happens sometimes, and then I can collate information from everyone else.
So glad you didn't complain about the "drama" that everyone else has been and writing the game off completely. It looks pretty good regardless and I can't wait to play today!
if you have played any of the modern souls game(elden ring or lies of p) its not a pushover but not head bashingly punishing, just good fun, very little rage
Hey Mort, is it possible to turn off the fog/butter smearing visuals in the game? I'm not usually fussed about graphics but the weird foggy look is a bit offputting for me. I need some colour!
Hey Mortem, thanks for the review. What would you recommend: Flintlock or Banishers? (Or if you think that is too subjective, which benefits do they have against each other?) I have only played God of War in a similar genre and with my budget being somewhat tight (damn the job search in immigration), I can only start with one of them so far. So, would it be Flintlock, Banishers, or anything else?
Im not him. But i guess Banishers is a better game. Watch his Banishers review also, and see what game he was more happy with. Also, decide what you want from the 2. But im prettt sure, Banishers is a more immersive game, better grafs and also a cool story. Wich this game lacks. Combat seems kind of clunky on both Gluck with job
from both his reviews : combat is the selling point in this one, story is the one for Banishers, both being a bit janky because AA with realistic graphics and similar lengths IIRC - also if you've liked Vampyr it's the same team as Banishers if that helps
Sounds like a great game for me. Not too long, good combat with a few different things going on, rewards aggression, and ... has Dragon Age Dreadwolf's story line? Count me in!

On another note. I downloaded it on game pass. The game is so dark. I tried gamma 100% still hard to see stuff in darker areas. It’s a shame as I like it.
Hell yeah we get yt jazz this time
I'm finishing the game and I don't have enough iron to upgrade my second hand weapon (hammer) to get the achievement.
Mort you’re killing me wallet! But how did you know that I would look for a review for this game
I mean its kind of my job to know
been looking forward to this one. im hyped for it
He put in a steam deck section 🎉😊
Sniper elite ?
Basically Sekiro style gameplay mechanics
Please cover Kunitsu -gami Path Of Goddess . Thankyou
I have GamPass so i will give it a go. Looking forward to see how the 3060TI coupled with the 5800X3D hold up to this title.
I love the game ashen. So I was excited for this.Looks like a decent game. Nothing crazy but just a good game
The game is decent. Story and characters are irrelevant. Exploration and combat are the best things here. Enjoying my time with it. If it wasnt on Gamepass I'd wait for a sale.
I’m going to try it out on game pass. Thank you!
Easy locking achivements is a hard pass for me
Easy mode is not an achievement at all
You guys are too used to games being "handholdie"
There’s are accessibility options that are separate from difficulty.
Excited for this one!
Doesn't seem like a too bad a game.
Just seems a little.....generic.
Nothing really stands out
when you're working to 100%, especially like in this game where you get a prerelease copy, how do you deal with hidden achievements?
Stuff like this doesnt really require anything besides just playing the game all the way through, plus a lot of games released these days don't have insanely obscure stuff anyway. Other times I either figure it out on my own, or I miss the embargo, which happens sometimes, and then I can collate information from everyone else.
$40 price point is a very smart move for this studio. They will be successful I believe. The game looks cool and I will definitely be checking it out.
Fox spirit? I'm sold
So glad you didn't complain about the "drama" that everyone else has been and writing the game off completely. It looks pretty good regardless and I can't wait to play today!
Is it very hard on normal?
if you have played any of the modern souls game(elden ring or lies of p) its not a pushover but not head bashingly punishing, just good fun, very little rage
Hey Mort, is it possible to turn off the fog/butter smearing visuals in the game?
I'm not usually fussed about graphics but the weird foggy look is a bit offputting for me. I need some colour!
The snowy area is just more muted in general by design. The second area, mostly a desert, is more vibrant.
@@MortismalGaming Thanks. It just looked a bit odd to me.
Ir wouldn't stop me playing the game though and I may check it out eventually.
100% king 👑
Looks like a game I will play, but sometime down the track.. which was what I was thinking before watching a review.
Combat seems kind of clunky on both
Gluck with job
from both his reviews : combat is the selling point in this one, story is the one for Banishers, both being a bit janky because AA with realistic graphics and similar lengths IIRC - also if you've liked Vampyr it's the same team as Banishers if that helps
Yeah as was stated, this has better combat, banishers has a better story so whichever of those matters more to you
Wicked excited for this one, already pre downloaded a week ago
Sounds like a great game for me. Not too long, good combat with a few different things going on, rewards aggression, and ... has Dragon Age Dreadwolf's story line? Count me in!
Just get sekiro or elden ring.
@@prophecybydefault4708 Itching to get another sekiro-like. Elden Ring isn't it, though. Flintlock might be, if it's short and focused.
I am VERY INTERESTED in this just by watching this.
Good enough for me it's on gamepass so it's a thumbs up definitely playing this
It's not even out yet and you're already done? Well can't wait to hear your thoughts
This game screams eurojank. Some people like it. And that's ok.
That’s what I was expecting. It’s not though. It’s basically a slightly lower tier God of War. It’s fun.
Wouldn't call it eurojank just AA, that's all
Gronk!
