It looks like an Assassin's Creed game (with the UI) mixed with Witcher (also UI) mixed with God of War and the terrible movement from Elder Scrolls Online, with very boring and generic looking attacks, to be honest.
It's a Sweet Baby Inc game. Cohesiveness and logic are not their main focus.

That was one of the best games I played last year. And I played a lot of the top rated games. It was just mindless fun.
My only gripe is the story. It felt jumbled and all over the place. But I miss that straight to it kick ass action video game so it was fine to push past the story

I recently saw a video that was something along the lines of “7/10 games that are still worth playing”. This seems like a game that will eventually end up on that kind of list. Also some of the issues seem very patchable like the ledge grabs and currency issues.
Agree. What attracts me is unlike Spiders and many other devs, this dev, like Ninja Theory, is highly focused on making the combat make sense and feel rewarding. Their theory seems to be if the gameplay combat isn't working, what's the point? This has integrity for me; especially, since I'm so bad at combat in most games.
I don't know how people don't understand that 70-75% = GOOD.

@@Adr1an511 I'm not defending this game, I honestly have zero interest in it, but god of war was also sweet baby consulted and spider-man 2, spider man had a lot of bs but it was still worth it, the good outweighed the bad in those two games.

I played the demo and liked it for the most part but it seems that it doesn't offer much beyond that. Probably good on a sale. Reminds me a bit of Greedfall.
As you mentioned, might satisfy that itch for a "video game ass video game" that comes around every now and then. I think I scratched my own itch for that with Evil West for now, but I may keep a tab on this for the future. Thanks as always guys!

Evil west was a lot of fun, super underrated game. Even for a AA title the combat was super tight and gratifying

So let me get this straight. Gamers have been asking for 'good old single-player video ass video games,' and journalists have been calling the current trend of high-fidelity gaming 'unsustainable.' Now, there's a developer offering that for almost half the price of a normal AAA title, and gamers are like, '7/10, what garbage.' Yeah, this is not going to end well for the industry.

Ragnarok had a boring story than wasted Thor's storyline by having him the same slop story theme Kratos had in the previous game. Oh no dad problems, wow so unique and totally haven't been explored even in the older games 😂

I somewhat enjoyed the demo of this on PC. The performance was pretty gnarly though and with very few options to alter the graphics (you basically get the same menu as you do in the PS5 with performance/quality and little else). The unblockable attacks being telegraphed (the red dot) midway through animations was a little annoying too, as you would react to the animation and then you're already committed to an attack/block when the red dot suddenly appears. Oh and the shield mobs (in the demo at least) has a near instant shield bash, which was likewise frustrating.
I like how he gave the voice actor credit, but bashed the character writing.
Both things can be true at the same time.

Not totally turned off. I'll keep an eye on it. I tend to gravitate to games that are made with heart yet have some jank because fixes can do a lot. I'm over the AAA market.

i played around an hour and it wasnt a game that gripped me at all it felt like a chore

After its been destroyed by Sweet Baby inc, what does it have left. Maybe the main character is likeable and it could have a good story. "its definitely forgettable from a story and main character standpoint". Welp... definitely sold this one.
Played for a couple hours on Gamepass. Not usually into fantasy or Souls games but decided to try something different cause I’m a sucker for Victorian aesthetics. Ended up uninstalling; story and characters just didn’t grab my attention, got my ass handed to me a bunch (parry timing feels really off compared to other similar games I’ve played), started to get pissed off and realized this is just gonna be a the whole game and just wasn’t for me. Lesson learned: Aesthetics alone do not a fun game make.

I'm just having fun with this game because on easy this game is beating itself on its own.
What I like: 1. jumping and fun shortcuts with these portals, 2. active pet system with Enki - it's not elaborate but I just like to have a buddy to controll, super easy "easy" mode.
What I don't like: 1. inventory is atrocious and it really needs work like implementing showing names of the items on the HUD while equipping them because axes don't look that much different to each other) or better...fucking ditch DS way of handling of inventory which is dated as hell and do something that is not this irritating mess for a modern user, 2. parrying is iffy or rather button queuing - you never know if parry or roll will start after pressing attack button, 3. story is shit, 4. music and overall sound design is all over the place, 4. Ranged weapons while fun this reload system makes you not want to interact with it at all, 5. These barrels and using them to progress...this is one of the laziest way to gate progress to the puzzle - hide a barrel somewhere and make player search for it every 30mins
@@zerobe49 I didn’t know what to expect from this game cause as I said, I was trying something different. If I’m not being pulled in and intrigued by the characters and the world, that’s on the game. I can put up with some questionable gameplay if the story is intriguing but here this ain’t it. And having low expectations can often lead to being pleasantly surprised when a game is great or (as in this case) prevent me from being bitterly disappointed. Which is an attribute I’m applying more and more the last few years due to being burned by games I was actually looking forward to.

3: Aesthetics
4: Replayability
5: Extras
My backlog is massive, unfortunately this game doesn't seem worth my time over anything else I already own. Maybe in a couple years when it's $10. It's a bummer.

Tbh i think I'm easy to please, because this looks fun. I'd buy it for 35 bucks, seems pretty okay for that price.
Even better if you have game pass. A 10+hr game thats pretty engaging, beautiful, want you to grind, and allows customization is all any adventure gamer really needs imo😅

It's all removable. I just got done playing it. I personally hate Hud in certain games but I always appreciate games with a lot of accessibility options. It also has a photo mode. You can turn off motion blur as well, where in ff16 you had to wait almost 2 months for them to patch it in

I heard another reason why people aren't bothering to buy it is because of who the devs brought onboard to help make the game. Also word is the Main Character was never supposed to look the why she does in the first place meaning she probably had a better and more fitting design than that

@@sdgamer1860 I personally doubt it. The rumors I've seen have all just tried to make people mad at SBI (a consulting firm) for "race-swapping" the protagonist.
They don't have any real evidence and sound just like rumors about previous SBI projects that were debunked by the devs.
The protagonist was shown ever since the game was announced over two years ago.

They can't "force" anything when their entire job is to just make suggestions that the developers can choose whether or not to follow.

I play it in gamepass and I like it. I'm a totally Bad at souls like games and this game is not really hard as the others in the Genre.
What I don't like is some graphical errors, like mirrors not working, shadows dont really stay at your character sometimes.
But I still like it
I like the game , you can play for fun and don't get too much stress , or someone maybe like the game that you can die very often and get frustration , this game is focus on RPG mechanics , where you mixed your skills and equipments
I felt that the combat was really clunky in the demo so I just put it down. Maybe the full game has it fixed and as it’s on gamepass I guess it’s worth a retry.
I don't give a cent to any company that hires Sweet Baby Inc, so for me it is automatically a before you don't buy.
That's one of the things I look for when I'm considering a game. Alan Wake 2 and Ragnarok are good but I refuse to donate to companies who think activism is part of the creative process.

"Black wash" doesn't really make sense tho, considering this is an original story instead of an adaptation and the MC's always been Black, as far back as in the official announcement trailer.
I mean I get quitting and uninstalling after having that experience (even as someone who's enjoying the game), but I really don't think it could be considered Black washed.

@@wilfredwayne7139 It's not historical though. It's Fantasy. Admittedly it takes elements from the Napoleonic era, but it also takes its pantheon from Mesopotamian mythology.
I think the devs have potential like I mean most of every game borrows from something else and it worked for Palworld. I love the inspirations they taken here like the God of war ragnarok like traversing, souls like bosses and graces, and has gunplay that doesn't seem too shabby. I think games like this are like a devs first steps and I think if they get to work again they can really churn out something solid. I think the worst part of this game is just that it's super generic in both title and characters.
Palworld worked because it is so different than any other Pokemon game.

Ready to play it tomorrow. When I seen the price I set my expectations. I tried the demo and it was interesting enough I stopped early on so that I don’t have to double back and do everything for a second time on my Xbox. It’s been pretty installed for a week from game pass. There’s no other games out so why not.

I was honestly pretty excited for this game for a while, it looked like a pretty fun take on a Souls-like or maybe Souls-lite, and the demo from Steam Nextfest was pretty fun. Hearing that the rest of the game does feel like a good old video-game-ass video game makes me happy. Looking forward to grabbing it.
Found this on gamepass and I gotta say this game is actually pretty competent. Its the "Bloodborne on PC" I've been waiting for with all the pistoleering you do. Once you unlock a certain skill you can parry unblockables and once you get a certain armor piece you can just grenade everything. Currently addicted.

Something about the upgrades too is it makes you pick what you want and only upgrade that. Can't really expirament when you are destroying with the gun you've been upgrading the whole time.

The dying-drop-points-recover system killed it for me. The one gimmick I despise in "modern melee action games," also known as soulslikes (since melee action games not trying to be soulslikes are almost dead).
It feels strange when you strike basic ennemy in the face and theres no feedback. They don't flinch, theres basically no impact, you just see their health decrease. It's... Not that well made.
It almost look like they ahave permanent hyper armor
They have hyper armor only for one strike. Second strike will stagger them.
Also funny to hear about that, when millions played Elden ring.
That reminds me of Star Wars Outlaws.
You can repeatedly shoot an enemy in the face at point blank range and they just stand there.

I will say, with the flubs triple a games have been hurling up for the sake of cash and perpetual profits, I've been giving much more attention to the lesser popular, independent creators...but then, I was never really hyped about brand marketing.

Friend of mine worked on this. At least it satisfies gamer lizard brain. I like the bullet-time, I think my 13 year old son would love this.

@@smurfie8412Elden Ring is fun but is a horribly unbalanced game that punishes players for not using "Meta Builds" . Its open world isnt that special. Aside from some legacy dungeons.

Gameplay would've been awesome, but seems like everything has 150 poise and my attacks have almost 0 weight. Only way to play effectively is super defensive.
Esp on harder difficulties where you can die in one hit to multiple enemies.
This makes me appreciate how good Lies of P was

I got this game a week or two ago on game pass for an early download I was SO excited to play! I started playing like 3 days ago… WHY IS THE LEVEL “battle hardened” SO DIFFICULT even on normal I get the mini boss to half health and then I die and have to start all over… why can’t it save when the boss is at half health, I’ve been on this level for 3 days
