The styling of this generation Type-R is something I would've loved when I was too young to afford a Type-R. It's kind of _busy_ for my current tastes. Sweet car though. If I were in the market for a FWD performance car I'd want nothing else (even if I'd hate looking at it everyday).
The looks grow on you . When I first seen the type R. Wasn't a big fan of the looks. But after the car was out for a few years . I started to kinda like the crazy look of it. Now I have one sitting in my driveway. But I bought it more for thr driving experience. Than the looks.

@@RaitisRides good afternoon, the vehicle is also located near Jacksonville fl. If you or others become interested. It has been garage kept never been driven in the rain. I did have the dealership install black wheel lugs and locks, door visor, cargo tray, upgraded carpet floor mats and has a nice indoor soft cover from honda. I did purchase a nice pair of tinted front side markers that I never installed same brand and style honda pro Jason installed on his yellow honda civic type-r.
Love this Honda Civic Type R and I think it's a freaking dandy of a hot hatxh and when I saw that 8t was Yellow I thought if Honda could've added the black lines on the yellow Body then now we're talking. Thank you for showing this NATIONAL School bus Yello of a hatchback and thanks for Lori for some great angles.
Ynot really because the 16, 17, 18 , 19 , 20 year model all come with overheating issues , ( can't hold 4 laps at the circuit , google it ) also transmissiom issues, so this LE type r is how it shoud hve come initialy

congratulations Kevin!! that's awesome. I always wanted want but even if I could afford one not marked up to oblivion, I was told the upkeep and maintenance cost a bit with tires needing to be replaced fairly often (around 10-15k miles) what has your experience been?

Agreed! This is one of the reasons why this car has already increased in value. At first I thought Honda was saving its edgy design language for the Integra since this will be the first time we have both the Honda Civic Type R and the Acura Integra together in the States but the reveal of the new Integra was a letdown. We haven't fully seen the new Type R based on the 11th gen Civic but I can already say I like this FK8 platform more.
@@xL0stKIlah I have a 2019 Honda Civic Type R and just went to the Honda dealer for some routine maintenance and on the showroom floor I saw a 2018 Honda Civic Tye R going for over $51,000! No, they did an amazing job with the 10th gen Civic and that is why they are in such high demand. BTW they did have some 11th gen Civics, brand new sitting on the lot outside.

If MSRP‘s were exactly the same between the GTI than I’d take the Type R. There’s actually one LE at the Honda dealership near me! Sadly all the dealers are charging about $25K markup which makes it out of reach for many people. Joe and Lori, Enjoy the holidays !!
Definitely go on the CTR team. I always love the crispy and sharp handling rather than a more moderate and refined Golf R. I am glad to own a 2020 boost blue CTR and love driving it on the roads.

Thank you Joe for the thorough videos. I have two criticisms. I’m sure many love the enthusiasm of “on throttle” so this will be controversial. I want to hear the cars engine and exhaust when your flooring it and in many cases I can’t because I hear you over it. Try to hear the Hellcat Durango engine video. My wife’s criticism is similar. She said he’s very thorough but he has to convey his enthusiasm without sounding like he’s yelling. I felt the same way. You are doing a great job I swear. Thanks.
Thanks for the feedback James. I guess part of the issue is that #1 that is my true enthusiasm, and #2 I am just normally loud. I guess it comes from being the oldest of 6 kids in an Italian family. I will try to make some adjustments though.

About to get my LE here in 2024 3 years old with 17,000 mi actually for $40,998 that CarMax I haven't seen one under 45 $50,000 so I'm waiting to see it here in a couple days. Love your enthusiasm
The limited edition is not a better experience on the street. It’s louder, rides rougher and slower over surfaces unless they are glass smooth. Only on the smoothest tracks will this car be faster. I lightened my type R by 50lbs by changing the wheels and tires and even more by modifying the exhaust. It’s such an entertaining car. I drove a dozen cars between 40k and 115k and only the Porsche 911 Carrera (regular not the S) was the only car I would trade my type R for.

1: Happy holidays. 2: The answer to the question that is the title: Yes. Hands down. Regardless of whether you are in the drivers seat or the passenger seat, you can tell what the car is made for and how focused it feels from the moment you sit down. It has some of the smoothest shifting and transmission, one of the best engines that is really a 500 hp engine that has been detuned to the max for longevity purposes, and overall, the heavily bolstered seats, aren't uncomfortable either, and the car always feels planted. To top it off, there's a reason why car reviews that compare even the base Type R, the Golf R, the Golf GTI, and the AMG, they all pick the Type R.

Beautiful Type R. Love the yellow. But as a MK7 Golf R owner I would buy a new Golf R over the CTR. Having AWD more power plus I like the style of the MK8 Golf R better. As for myself I have yet to find a CTR that can touch my MK7 Golf R stage 3 running a 10.9@126mph quarter mile plus having a Bilstein B16 suspension setup.

With all conditions being perfect, shift points perfect, and consider that it's a 1 foot rollout time. Real world 0-60 in less than absolutely perfect stellar conditions is much..much worse. They love to spin. My Tuned Edge Sport destroys them all day. With better traction mods, and very...very sticky tires, along with perfect conditions helps a lot, but I hate being dependent on conditions, roads, and weather to get traction. AWD > FWD

This is by far the best civic generation ever came to be since 1996. That yellow color scheme on this vehicle is so breath takingly beautiful 😍

Grab some 18"wheels first - wider set and cbeaper than the 20s by at least $100+ per tire - wheels pay for themselves in no time

2: The answer to the question that is the title: Yes. Hands down. Regardless of whether you are in the drivers seat or the passenger seat, you can tell what the car is made for and how focused it feels from the moment you sit down. It has some of the smoothest shifting and transmission, one of the best engines that is really a 500 hp engine that has been detuned to the max for longevity purposes, and overall, the heavily bolstered seats, aren't uncomfortable either, and the car always feels planted. To top it off, there's a reason why car reviews that compare even the base Type R, the Golf R, the Golf GTI, and the AMG, they all pick the Type R.

Beautiful Type R. Love the yellow. But as a MK7 Golf R owner I would buy a new Golf R over the CTR. Having AWD more power plus I like the style of the MK8 Golf R better. As for myself I have yet to find a CTR that can touch my MK7 Golf R stage 3 running a 10.9@126mph quarter mile plus having a Bilstein B16 suspension setup.
Honestly those EA888/Golf R's are just insane with how easy they make power. It'll be my next car, and I traditionally HATED VW, Lol.
I mean yeah you are comparing a awd tuned car to a fwd car in a straight line

With all conditions being perfect, shift points perfect, and consider that it's a 1 foot rollout time. Real world 0-60 in less than absolutely perfect stellar conditions is much..much worse. They love to spin. My Tuned Edge Sport destroys them all day. With better traction mods, and very...very sticky tires, along with perfect conditions helps a lot, but I hate being dependent on conditions, roads, and weather to get traction. AWD > FWD
on a manual trans, no less. Elantra n does 0-60 in 5 sec but only on the dct auto.
