    Does the famous 4/7/8 deep breathing have just a short response as in, JUST minutes only, or doing it regularly, does it help to actually really lower BP? Also is there value aka DATA, to using isometric hand-grip therapy to lower BP... Thanks for all you both do!! :)

    I just saw my doctor yesterday. My blood pressure was 90/50! He told me to stop taking Amlodipine but continue the Linsopril. I lost 50 pounds overall in the last two years and 20 pounds in the last 3 months. My eating habits have changed so my target is about 10 to 15 pounds more loss.
    Thanks for all the information!

    What can be done for someone in her eighties who has a very high blood pressure all the time and the blood pressure meds ARB and beta blocker no longer works to lower blood pressure, which causes more anxiety at home, raising b.p. more? The urine test shows she does not have pheo, but has a lot of stress anxiety, especially of taking b.p. at home, and the b.p. goes even higher. She has had very bad effects from ccbs and thiazide in the past, and is very slim.

    Can a person with stage 1 CKD eat spinach?.
    I just saw two different articles on Google where one says it's not recommended and the other said it's a leafy green that's fine...which one is it.
    It's so frustrating

    • @PlantBasedKidneyHealth
      @PlantBasedKidneyHealth  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It can definitely be so confusing finding CKD diet info online! Spinach is often on do not eat lists for CKD because it cooks down so much when cooked that people consume a large amount and is therefore very high in potassium (potassium is generally not restricted for people in early stages of CKD). 1 cup raw spinach is 167 mg potassium (so not a high amount). However 1 cup of cooked spinach is 839 mg potassium.

    Thank you for this video, very helpful. My question is about bananas. When I first found out I had kidney disease I stayed away from all high potassium foods, that is what I read back in 2014. Since then I realized I don't have a problem with potassium, but I do have high BP. Are bananas okay to eat if there is not problem with potassium on all my blood tests? I eat avocados now but some people say bananas are bad for the kidney even it there's no problem with potassium.
    I also question about CoQ10, there seems to be two types. Which one is best?
    I'm about to see a doctor to change my BP medication since my bp is usually 145/85-90. Good advice about not stopping what I currently take!!

      Can CKD patients have beets, which are also said to help lower BP?

    • @PlantBasedKidneyHealth
      @PlantBasedKidneyHealth  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Bananas are often on the "do not eat list" because of their potassium content. If someone has normal blood potassium levels (regularly) then they typically don't need to restrict potassium, and therefore bananas. Eating a variety of fruits and veggies is important though!

    • @PlantBasedKidneyHealth
      @PlantBasedKidneyHealth  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      As long as the beet portion fits into someone's individual potassium needs!

    do you have studies on the effectiveness (how much does each med typically lower your numbers) of the different pills?
    For example if your in the 150's. Is there one that's has a larger lowering effect? Do you then have to combine multiple drugs?
    How do you choose the different blood pressure pills? Are some safer then others? (some give you that awful cough)
    If heart disease, high blood pressure, CKD, bad chlost4eral run in the family, is one type suggested more?
    If you have an autoimmune condition such as psoriasis/ psoraitic arthritis would one be better then the other.
    How do you know whats causing the high blood pressure?
    What are the best foods to lower blood pressure? How much of the foods do you need to eat to lower the blood pressure.
    what blood pressure meds should you be cautious about when stopping abruptly?
    Do you suggest others as a better starting point if your not good at sticking to a daily pill.
    Is there a way to lower a wide spread of pulse pressure. The difference between systolic and diastolic?
    What causes the wide spread typically? Why are dr's not allowed to prescribe on a wide pulse pressure spread presently?
    normal is around 40 mmHg right?

    • @PlantBasedKidneyHealth
      @PlantBasedKidneyHealth  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is frustrating! It is best to run supplements by all your doctors/specialists. But your kidney doctor should be discussing any contraindications to you taking something based on your kidneys and the medications they have prescribed and are monitoring!

      It is generally recommended to check BP at home in both the AM and PM. You also want to ideally be sitting still with feet on the floor for 5-15 minutes before checking too.

    Good day.
    I'm confused with many of these vegetables.
    Google will say this food is not good for ckd than another article will say its just fine.
    My doctor said I have stage 1 CKD.
    So can I eat foods like Zucchini?.
    Pasta with no sauce?.
    As for chicken.
    Can I have baked chicken without the skin that's seasoned with olive oil and a little garlic salt?
