Wunderschöne und detaillierte Aufführung dieser spätromantischen und perfekt komponierten Sinfonie mit gut phrasierten doch perfekt vereinigten Tönen aller Instrumente. Der dritte Satz klingt besonders schön und echt melodisch. Der intelligente und geniale US-amerikanische Dirigent leitet das perfekt trainierte deutsche Orchester im gut analysierten Tempo und mit effektiv kontrollierter Dynamik. Wundervoll vom Anfang bis zum Ende!

There are many great performances of this masterpiece on record: Toscanini, Szell, Klemperer, Böhm, Sawallisch, Levine and some others, and this is not the exception. One of the best in the lasts decades. Bravo, maestro Gilbert and this excellent orchestra and hall.
