Wow how divided are the opinions over the comments. She did get a standing ovation though. I personally think it must've been something really amazing to be at presence. I enjoyed watching it.

Chenoweth is briliant , no doubt . and she does here I am in paris .. francevlike only an American can . But this performance has a Lucille Ball quality I love and the wind creates an an interesting ambience
@@frogmouth I don't need to hear her to know her technique is awful. 1. Look at her neck - it's straining. The neck must be relaxed! 2. Her jaw, and shoulders - stiff and full of tensions. 3. Her tongue - it's shaking. It should not! It's also the reason for her wide, siren-like "vibrato". 4. Her mouth - it must never be spread like that in operatic singing. It makes the voice shrill and unpleasant.
You must be kidding me. One of the worst opera singers of the day singing one the most terrible arias in the opera repertoire. Good heavens she is terrible. Luckily one does not have the whole terrible spectacle. 🤮🤮🤮🤮
Over acted? For TV yes. But for that large live audience, not at all. As for the lyrics, who cares in a repetitive text? She sold the song to the large audience, and that was her job.
Quelle horreur! Horribly spreading high notes. Look at her tongue trembling! A sure sign of vocal insecurity. And what an actress? Usually. Comparing her to Lucille Ball is spot on since Lucy never pretended she could sing. PS. I can't believe I prefer Damrau... who is totally shot.
@@mckavitt13 I listen to a later clip of her, and it's, as I predicted, even worse. She sounds like an old lady, with a wobbly, leaking voice. It's very sad that people let her do this to herself.
Marvelous! Captures Bernstein's intention ..... and then some more. Fabulous performance!

Tu as de la chance. Ou non...
Her comedic ability is extraordinary! Her ability to play tragedy is staggering! What an amazing talent!
I LOVE her... she sang a REALLY great Blanche de la Force back in her day! and her early music stuff is second to no one!
BOY...!!! her "enough, enough..." was THE BEST I've ever heard... soooo REAL!!!
Merci !
She is absolutely unique. A major opera singer who is also unsurpassed as a comic actress.
Great actress, great singer! Enjoy the way she is acting the most, comparing to other singers and actresses. 🙂🙃😇😘

What an amazing talent!
Wonderful woman and artist! And the most beautiful voice!
she is wonderful , loved her ever since I discovered the baroque Operas she was in early in the century
A real buzz. Great voice and wholehearted performance. Fun fun fun
Love the way Patricia takes things in stride.
Kristin Chenoweth - Glitter and Be Gay
I'm in love with this woman
Petibon is the Lucille Ball of opera -- and I mean that as the highest compliment.
Totally
Yes, I can see that.
bleib dabei
ein guter Versuch
I was thinking Carol Burnett . .
Toujours aussi inspirante et étonnante de fraîcheur....
Splendid. Patricia can do it all. Very wonderful performance. 😃

To be present.
Ahhhhhhh :D I adore Paticia :D :D

Versatile 👏😃
She is magnificent - so full of life and fun!
fantastic!
das glück dabei zu sein oliver
Wonderful.
Singing outside and in the wind, something that a proper bel canto singer should never have to submit to...
Candide does not call for bel canto. it needs raw energy . It's very Broadway. Petibon has this in spades
The best!
so cute, so cute!!
Quelle gaité, quel bonheur!
MARAVILLOSA
Good job
Excellente !!!

she's having a lot of fun !
I'm sure not. 😕
❤
She was born a singer. It comes from her bowels. I'm fascinated. And so would Bernstein.have been.
Fabuleuse !
A major opera singer
es maravillosa
NIce
She's fabulous, but I couldn't tell whether she was singing in English or French. Hopefully, it's the acoustics rather than Patricia.

So no one is gonna y’all about the fact that she messed up the lyrics, and over acted,

Two abused, ugly voices, deteriorating as we speak.
