- Khatia Buniatishvili interprète concerto n°2 pour piano de Rachmaninov (Adagio Sostenuto), accompagnée de Rachmaninov l'Orchestre d'Un Violon sur le Sable, sous la direction de Jérôme Pillement
Un Violon sur le Sable est un ensemble de 3 concerts classiques et lyriques, présentant un programme hétéroclite et varié avec des solistes invités différent chaque soir, sur la plage de ROYAN (France) . Créé par Philippe Tranchet en 1987, Un Violon sur le sable se déroule en Juillet, couplé avec Un Violon sur la ville (festival "off").
A chaque concert, près de 50 000 spectateurs, mélomanes ou novices, petit ou grand, plongent dans un profond respect et une grande émotion, séduits aussi par le répertoire composé d’extraits des plus grandes oeuvres telle une véritable compilation classique et bon nombre d'oeuvres originales.

J'ai decouvert ce morceau à 14 ans. Je traversais et j'ai été figée sur place. Maintenant j'aime avant tout la Soul, le bon Rap. Mais Rachmaninov me coule toujours dans les veines. Cette version de Kathia est au top.

Her performance is absolutely SUBLIME, but she’s pretty easy on the eyes, too (which only ADDS to the overall experience, in my opinion).

She's so relaxed and patient, intensely focused, though, enjoying every note. She is truly lost in the music, and an example to us all of what true musicianship is. She knows the value and power of one note given the right touch at the right time. So beautifully delivered! What a goddess! What an amazing performance!!! Bravissimo!!!! Wonderful Khatia!!!!!!!!

What an amazing Musician, this lady can make the Piano talk and she at time is barely touching the Keys, a once in a generation performer, blessed to have heard her play, wow just wow.
Saw her last night in Worcester, Massachusetts and got to meet her up close and saw how she was with the people in the waiting line. I could only conclude she is a lovely warm caring and kind person in addition to all the other obvious talents. A wonderful person.

The gift from the Gods of this Goddess. A brain to hold all the huge scores of all the composers works, and intrepretet them to perfection, and the physical arms and fingers to work the instrument to perfection, along with the outstanding physical beauty. There are other great, good looking, talented classical piano artists, but this Goddess stands out.

Khatia seems to connect with each soloist in turn. What an incredible artist.
Every time I see her l have to start my comments with BEAUTIFUL. Watching her is fabulous, it's like she has a musical conversation with the orchestra.
To blend beauty with this amazing interpretation is seldom to be seen or heard. Talent, practice, more talent and forever practice, make this difficult Rachmaninov piece of art to be a delight for me sitting on my couch. What's next? I do not think of anyone more beautiful and virtuoso than Ms. Khatia Buniatishivili.
The music seems to flow from her, not the piano. It's as if she becomes the instrument. And the lights were enchanting. Such feeling--what a performance!

Great talent. I suspect she might actually be using the force when her eyes are closed. She definitely "feels" her way through a performance as opposed to simply playing. I just watched her rendition of Clair de Lune and it was spell-binding.

I have listened to this concerto many times for over 70 years; it was the first piece I came to love, at age two. I don't think I have ever heard a performance of this movement that is as beautiful as Buniatishvili's.

At times I admire her, other times I find her rather shallow and show bizzy. I have to say she is rather good here, but she is inclined to rush phrases during the more heated moments.
A brilliant piano player without doubt, however it is her musical conceptions I question at times. Most of the Joe Public will love Khatia because she has on-stage charisma in aces.
