On built motors they can go over 1000 rwhp pretty easily and they make badass torque. If this blower works you can make any blower for a gt500 work. • @95Sn95
    @95Sn95 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Obviously on the strip high stall low gear is a plus but I would think now supercharged on the road a lower stall and higher gear it would definitely seem more impressive and deff way more enjoyable...? In my oll 92 hotrod pickup I have a mild street cam 230° .480" 108lsa Howard's cam in a 355 sbc the cam card said as you would assume 2000 to 2400 stall so I put a 2400 converter (still with my stock highway 3.08 gear) and it went pretty decent well I blew up my monster 700r4 I installed with the engine swap and put my unheard of perfectly functioning 225k+ original 700r4... With the stock converter and we'll I love it it pulls right from the bottom strong if you snap the throttle from an rolling idle it will light both tires up and still pull pretty good up to a gps 120 mph and that's with a original old school single plane torker intake not the low profile torker 2...(and 9:1 & Indy/diy ported gm iron open chamber heads) It seems to defy all hot rodding logic at least knowledge I've gained in my still immature 48 years...? But I bet that supercharged 5.3 would take way more gear and way less stall but if your going back to turbo prob it wouldn't be ideal? But not like you don't know all of this you obviously know what your doing im just ramblin

    • @DivineSpeed
      @DivineSpeed  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I don't know what I'm doing and you're probably right. Although I do have a pretty good tight converter, I actually wished that it was a higher stall. Closer to 5000 for the track. It hooks and launches pretty well. Two weeks ago it ran a 7.12 with a 1.50 60 foot. I think with the higher stall, I could knock that 60 foot down some more but if I switched to higher gears like you said, I'd definitely gain some mph. And it would be a little more street friendly with a 3.73 gear. So I think you are right and I do want to swap the gears out. I've since then bought a Camaro to put a new turbo 6.0 in so this engine and setup will stay in this car and it works well in the 1/8 mile. I haven't turned it up at all and it's real conservative on timing so in a month I'll be going back to the track to see what it will do. I'll try to make an updated video about it. Thanks for watching.

  • @shadowopsairman1583
    @shadowopsairman1583 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah the M90 blower from a Buick series 2 needs a pulley change.
    Supers are acceleration, turbos are long range top speed.
    Best is a compound charge.

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a generic one size fits all way to look at it that isnt fully accurate. Superchargers can make some damn good power up top ecspecially centris they are basically turbos that are belt driven. Boost climbs as rpms climb. Turbos can be sized correctly for the engine or run smaller sized twins for a really nice power curve. Turbos arent always top end heavy they can make some badass torque down low it's all in the sizing of it to the engine same with superchargers. If you run a 4 liter whipple its gonna be lazy on the bottom end and pull like crazy up top...a properly sized blower for the engine will make badass torque down low and hit alot harder and make great power all the way to the top of the tach.

  • @hondatech5000
    @hondatech5000 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I get how to square the plate on the high ram but how do you make the pulley square to the other pulleys? Like a laser pointer? Last is there a drive mandrel or something that can be done with how the pulley is mounted? What would also be awesome is if you could tension some more wrap in no doubt it’s slipping. It looks fantastic and I bet you can’t hold the throttle down long enough to tell the belt slip. Excellent work

    • @DivineSpeed
      @DivineSpeed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used a long square and eyeballed the pulleys. I did change some things around on the belt routing but I ended up switching back to a turbo to do what I wanted it to do. It was a good time while it lasted. To keep the pulleys in line/square, I just made sure my bolt diameters on the adapter plate were a really tight tolerance. I could have used dowel pins on everything but this was a quick and dirty setup. Worked. Was a lot of fun.

      @@DivineSpeed Well after that bought a 1250hp 8-injector Sniper off the 'Bay, too.
      You see my buddy accidentally built a 6.5 compression Pontiac 400 (with those old humongus '74 455 heads) back when he was 16. (about '79). His '72 LeMans always was slow. See he's a born diesel guy and I'm the born gasoline guy.
      The hold up now is a huge enough fuel supply. Best not skimp on that, right?
      So I bought an ancient (but new) Enderle gerotor pump. Right now I'm thinking to put the Enderle right behind the gas tank and drive it with a hydraulic motor ran off the power steering pump. It's also gonna have to have a cheapy 65psi electric to get it started.
      Hope you can see where we''re going with this...

      BTW , if you take off that front bumper and split it apart , you can use a plasma cutter to swiss cheese that rear support and eliminate those 2MPH bumper shocks along with relocating that battery to the trunk , replacing those 4 glass headlamp bulbs with the plastic versions , it all helps to get that weight off the nose.

    • @DivineSpeed
      @DivineSpeed  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have no doubt that the blower would work but I'm not sure what the limitations are of that blower. The blower I have is spun relatively slow. Factory pulley. So how hard would you need to spin the m112 to make the same power? That would be the question that would need to be answered by the ford guys.

      @@DivineSpeed well my ford lightning m112 blower that i got on ebay has the 2.8 pulley so it's spinning a bit faster then stock. Do you think i should go back to stock or keep that pulley? @@s10blackwidow that is gonna be sick. The m112 isnt as good as the m112 for sure but I would suggest getting it ported. They get really good gains from porting there is alot of gains to be had there. It just makes the blower flow more air and work more efficient overall. It should give you a nice powerband on that ls1 I would leave the current pulley on it see how much boost you're making and go from there. Adjust accordingly you might need to pulley down some more idk though.
