Took the time to educate me about the product and how it was drilled out for several other blowers already if I decided to upgrade. Told me everything I needed to get everything installed, even took the time to look up parts (without me asking) to make 100% sure I got the right stuff. Not exactly a low budget install IMHO. Sure, the GT500 M122 last I looked was $300-400 used, I bought mine many years ago for $200 a low mile take off. That said this nicely engineered kit looks based on a $550 Magnusson tub lower with the custom intercooler, and adapter plates, fuel rails. Not sure of the kit cost but I'm betting well north of a grand. I'm currently looking at the feasibility of using a low ram, adapter plate and meth injection on my 5.3. Enjoying the videos!

Man I LOVE the engine durability of the 5.3 platform (usually reserved for "big block race engines") and innovations today, as opposed to 40+ years ago. Way back when it was a daunting task (and big $ ) to put a rootes blower (detroit diesel) on an engine a make it run well. It still costs lots of $$ but at least now, ya don't have to be a NASCAR engine build shop to produce respectable HP.

So break down of price looks like this.
Blowers can be found at the price listed but will probably go up.
    $400-$800 m122 blower
    $350 for throttle body kit
($100 if you are doing dbw and supply your own throttle body)
$1750 Adapter plate, intercooler and fuel rails
    $250 pulley kit
    $587 Magnuson lower tub
So total price could be between:
    $3087-$3737
As long as the price of the supercharger doesn't go up significantly. Also keep in mind the other things like water tank, pump and whatever else is needed to make the air to water intercooler work. It not a bad deal but some may choose to go a different route. All depends on how well this fits your needs. I will say I got to speak with the guy that sells the adapter and he seems like a great guy that is very helpful. So if you don't like the price please be respectful.

This is why some throttles have an egg shaped throttle arm, GM uses a ski jump on the back of some throttle blades , Ford uses a toothed throttle body gasket / dual staged throttle blades. How much taller is that blower combo in the L33 compared to the L33 when it had the stock truck intake on it? Would this set yo with with a kwik wide bracket corvette spacing accessory bracket kit. I have a zr2 4x4 s10 (2000 year model) than I've been gathering parts for and the last think I need to get is that corvette spaced accessory bracket kit that kwik makes. I plan to daily the truck and I have a turbo I had planned to remote mount since I will be running an A/C system (also from kwik). Not sure if I should try thus or just go N/A with the truck build. I have 2002 WS6 6speed TransAm than in planning to do an H/C/I on and just leave the 125/150 shot on it that I've been running. I build a stroker 383 also with nitrous and converted to an lt1's T56 in my old 89 formula firebird. So most everything I've done is either just built motors with or without nitrous and I wanted to do this 4000lbs S10 as my first LS swapped forced induction build that i can still daily drive (went a bit over board in the 89's stroker 383 and it wasnt very traffic friendly but a hell of alot of fun. I may consider going this route also long as I dont have to run a 4+" cowl hood to clear the engine like I ended up with in the 89 formula firebird. I figure I'd have to do a 2" just to clear the truck intake anyway and the opened back of the cowl would help some with heat extraction from under the hood but I would like to be able to see the other side of the truck since the scoop on the 89 meant I could see the pop up head light with out leaning forward. Thank in advance. You do great videos. I'll likely do the HCI to the 2002 soon since its sitting at 74,961miles as of today and need a new clutch and slave cylinder anyway. That should give me time to figure our the route I'm gaining to ultimately take with the zr2. Thanks again

Hi Richard, great idea for the blower insulation. Wondering if a Holley low ram intake base or midsize with a home made flat aluminum adapter plate would work. My concern is hood clearance. Looks like you have the stock truck alternator bracket. The alternator looks taller than the top of the blower. Wondering how much space.😊

$1750 USD (from Demeuse) for the adapter kit ONLY, then the price (and perhaps headache) of a used blower is too close to the $3000 overall price of a TorqueStorm Tuner Kit. The TS kit is still the 'Budget King' from a realistic and 'all parts purchased' stand point. While the packaging of a PD kit and it's charge cooling is nice, the TS kit still remains king.

    • @jacksonjdr94

Very true, but a Torquestorm won't make the low rpm torque that a setup like this is capable of.
That being said.. the torquestorm is an excellent centrifugal blower, and more efficient at lower rpm than some other popular centrifugal blowers of it's size.

If I do something like this, will a hand held tuner allow the proper files to be down loaded? Is there a different system needed to change the factory tune or do I need to completely bypass the factory ECM and install the Holley system you use? I'd love to see a video on how you tune these engines.

@@richardholdener1727 the throttle body inlet is on the opposite side so it wouldn't interfere with the alternator, and would allow for use of stock location air intake, it also appears the mounting holes for the throttle body hold down bolts may work with a 92 or 102mm throttle body, but it may be ford or roush proprietary. The positioning of the charger pulley also seems like it would give decent pulley coverage without needing another pulley in the system, the routing seems like it could go from tensioner, idler, alt, to tensioner, idler, supercharger, alt. ( although this may cause slip on the alternator, as i'm not sure how tall the demuse setup places the supercharger) either way, no stretching or re routing the MAF wiring cause stock location, no battery relocation to fit an airbox in the battery tray area, and still get decent access to driver side ignition coil bracket once everything is on, instead of under the intake piping.

I’m seeing supercharger kits and they’re saying 515ish HP on a stock motor, seems low compared to a supercharged Coyote that can yield 700+ on a stock motor.
