Great review Ian. I'm really happy with my 16X. Glad I waited for it to be released and did not pull the trigger on the Z10. I ride mostly in the city and find it to be nimble and fast. The wheel slaloms amazing and hold a nice carve.
I bought my kingsong 16x from you guys and I have put around an hour into training and still can't balance on it. Man I can't wait for the 'click' moment and I can start doing these awesome trails and skills
@@Speedyfeetuk thanks for the support, I love the 16x and can't wait to use it for work and just pure fun. Side note, the service and packaging from you guys was amazing.
@@swivel709 thanks for the support, this is definitely a hobby I want to invest fully into. I can already see myself floating around all over the place on different trips. Got to admit though it is frustrating lol. I'll be sticking at it, trying to learn and not completely ruin this amazing bit of kit is a challenge though. Should of got myself a cheap one to learn on 😂. And maybe start doing squats, the 16x beast has some weight to it haha.
@@Deuce_Allan Yes this is my first wheel but my friend let me ride and practice on his three wheels which consist of a cheap $300 wheel, the MCM5 and then the Gotway Nikola. Needless to say I was flat hooked and after alot of research I chose the 16X. Funny thing is my friend with the three wheels now has a 16X after riding mine.
The CYT tyre is the H-5167. I swapped my CX321 for it, and I now prefer the wheel's handling. Then again, I'm not doing much off-road riding, so there may be trade offs. What I like most about the CYT, is it doesn't seem to tram-line (follow ruts in the surface) as much.
Nice update. BTW, the Nikola light is also variable (dims when you stop) - don't recall if you've mentioned that before. But I think the KS16X light is the best light ever made (has the down pointing spot beam and the distance light). Big thumbs up. I don't like the side pads. Wish they were thicker so I could grab the wheel easier without having to squeeze hard.
Great review Ian! I am a huge fan of your channel, thanks for the inspiration! I am not riding my KS16s at the moment as I got very cheeky and broke my arm after it cutout :( I cant wait to hit the road soon though! I would love it if you made a video about cutouts and general safety about EUCs for noobs such as myself to have a better understanding before doing anything silly. keep up the great videos man!
Joaquim dalmeida wow that’s scary, I have had my ks 16s for about a week now without any cut out issues, did u have the warning alarm + kickback set to 34kph?
I’ve installed v1.06 firmware which works ok except for the tilt back that happens at 50% battery (74volts) which limits speed to 25moh and then progressively slower as the voltage decreases. I find this the one thing I really don’t like about this wheel. 50% batt tiltback takes a lot of the range out of the wheel which didn’t happen on v1.05. That’s my biggest gripe about the 16x. The advertised range of 50-60 miles is not really true if you want to ride at full performance. Did you experiens
Apparently not, the tire was not available from the supplier at time of release was the reason. I have not had issues with the original tire to be fair, its worked like a champ!
@@Speedyfeetuk Thanks for that Ian,..that's news to me and for many others, I bet!... Good to know as that was one of the reasons why I had second thoughts on it.
@@Speedyfeetuk do you have any advise on how to stop my 16x from wobbling under heavy acceleration or braking? Ive not been riding that long and im trying to advance where i can 👍👍
Hello Ian thanks for all these videos. I weigh about 200lbs. Should I be jumping up and down sidewalks with this wheel? Will the axis hold up with time? Thanks
Tyres, just a guess based on cycle tyres but the CX tyre is a 'cross' tyre biased towards trails and offroad. The newer CYT? tyre is a hybrid/city tyre biased to harder packed, tarmac, road surfaces. Also I notice no mention of it wanting to tramline from the first ride, has this stopped.
Nobody talks about brake application on V8or kingsong nor is there a user manual on it. Why? Am I way behind time? Now tell me how to apply brakes on V8. Thanks.
Oooohhh, thats a tough one. I will have to wait until I hit 1000km on both I think to give a correct opinion, to early at this stage - they are tied at the moment is all I can say!
I would go V8 initially, get used to the ride and feel, then 6 months - 12 months later hop up to more powerful large wheel. (V8 video on this link: www.speedyfeet.co.uk/collections/featured-collection/products/inmotion-v8) Hope this helps!
Well, to give an accurate answer I will need all data 🤔. See video for the range I got I think about 23km. If you want range, then you will need to go up to a V10 (www.speedyfeet.co.uk/collections/featured-collection/products/inmotion-v10)
I second this. I'm still on my V8 that I bought back in February and I love it. It's my first wheel, but I can also feel that I'm slowly starting to want something a little bit quicker, even though its speed, weight and range is very suitable for what I'm using it for. The new wheels just look so damn sexy though. XD
Lol, time for you to get a wheel 😉 Essentially though the gateway to them is from the Car Park next to linear park (the car park opposite the black train on the otherside of the road)
@@Speedyfeetuk They do look great fun! Ah OK, I tend to follow the cycle track and head off down towards mallards or cannop and explore round there.... i've have to look at these ones more closer to home!

Thanks Ian, great update. So they may have changed that tyre as people have found that it pulls a little similar to the Z10.. BUNG DEETLE 😂

Ian- what was that grinding noise, when you were doing the hard braking test?
Canon AutoFocus (I wasnt mic'd up on this shot, so its the inernal mic on the camera)

what do you mean? there are no brakes, you brake with the motor by tilting backwards.
Which tyre installed on your wheel? Brand and model? Do you feel gyro effect with this tyre?
See: th-cam.com/video/GlgoThT4A4Y/w-d-xo.html (will start at correct time for tire info)
I have had no issues with it.
on the spot question:
your personal choice: nikola 84v or 16x?

6:08 the only time I tried charging and riding, I ripped the cable out )) gutted
Is the ks16x suitable for beginners? Which should i take? A used one? A ks16s? Msx? 👀🤔

Thank you, but the range of that is very low, isn't it? 25 km (flat) with 85 kg should be able to reach it (this is my daily E-Scooter route)
