    I followed your suggestion and added similar padding to my gotway tesla. It worked so well! I don't use it for jumping but I now have much better gripping and control. It really makes a big difference. I will now do the same to my KS18XL, and eventually all my other wheels. Thanks a million! 👍

    Great Jump Kuji. I have done it and will test it tonight with my KS18L. I used additional experiment by drilling a hole to the cover to make it tight and firmed grip on my foot.

    TIP: instead of building up your neoprene with double sided tape, you can use spray adhesive like 3M Super 77 and similar. It's much more economical, good double-sided tape is expensive. But I love so much that you told me how to build it instead of telling me where to buy it. SUPER AWESEOME.

    Hi Kuji, really like this video back when you release it and I guess this is the source of inspiration of the new wave of so-called "power pads". However, these ain't custom fit and many comments are raising regarding how they help acceleration and brake, but also how they are in way of our knees when the wheel bounces back when hitting road holes/imperfection. Do you have any views on these "p-pads" ?

    Do You know that cyclists mount their feet on pedals using a special clip-in/step-in clipless pedals and cycling shoes with a cleat?
    In cycling this is usually used for efficient power transfer. But it is also good for safety and more relaxed feet position, thanks to reduced risk of loosing the pedals e.g. in downhill racing.
    Do You think something like that might eventually arrive in EUCs?
    Similarly to reduce risk of loosing the wheel in wobbling and making jumps easier without padding the EUC body.

    I tried this with not so good results. I used neoprene foam 3/8" (1/8 thicker), chamfered it about 45°, took it out on the trail, and the pads tore in a few spots ON DAY ONE. Jumps eat away at it, and it cannot survive even a low-speed tip over. Are your EUCs able to take small falls on the neoprene without immediate visible damage?

    • @KujiRolls
      @KujiRolls  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Three suggestions: 1. Remove any rubber on your pedals if you have any. 2. Replace the grip tape to "vicious" brand. Its much better. 3. Bend your knees, wiggle your heels in as close as you can to the frame so that when you straighten your legs, your ankle bumps press hard against the frame without having to squeeze your knees in. Then attempt to jump.

    • @KujiRolls

      I would put pads the same way i did the 16X. The 18XL pads were an experiment (thats EVA)... ive gone through a lot of iterations of different paddings and that was just one of them. Using EVA will probably be less comfortable, firmer, and cheaper. Of all the different types of foams ive used neoprene is by far the best.

Sometimes is very loud, and sometimes so quiet that you nearly don’t hear it. I don’t feel to disassemble the wheel as I have no practice. What do you think about it ? • @KujiRolls

      I'd say the MSX because its the most powerful wheel out there right now. The 18XL can probably handle you too, but i think you'd probably get a little more buffer with the MSX. Also wear protection. Big people have big falls.

    • @theflyingveteran6250
      @theflyingveteran6250 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm a total noob as well, but I've done a lot of research over the past couple weeks. I think you're on the right track. At your size either the KS-18XL or the Gotway MSX would fit you perfectly. The new KS-16X is another option, but they're only available on pre-order. If you want to go REALLY big and really far, there's also the Gotway Monster, but I doubt a 22" wheel would be ideal to learn on. Personally, I selected the 18XL as my first wheel as I don't have the patience to wait for the 16X. The 18XL seems to be the most well rounded of all the wheels in it's class. The MSX is a bit faster and is a straight up beast off-road. But the 18XL has a more creature comforts and features. You can also get a protective cover for it from eWheels or Roll-NZ. According to Marty Bake's tests (ElectricUnicycles Channel), it has better range as well. Check out Kuji's comparison of the two as well as ElectricUnicycles and SpeedyFeetUK.

    maybe try F1 seat molding technique (expanding foam or silicone gel)? :D

    • @KujiRolls
      @KujiRolls  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have played with that packaging expanding foam with poor results. It's hard to keep it in place and it's not dense and flexible enough to maintain its integrity. Good for knowing what kind of shape you're going for though

    • @KujiRolls
      @KujiRolls  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your intuition is wrong. Handlebars make it much more difficult and dangerous. There are plenty with seat modifications though. The Gotway Monster is probably the best wheel for sitting since its got the biggest wheel and tallest body.

    I am struggling to just balance left and right while driving my V8, picked it up yesterday and put 3km on it in my house, took it outside scratched it up a bit, but had the pads on it, I can not get the balance on left and right while going slower, Any tips? Thank you so much

    • @KujiRolls
      @KujiRolls  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just practice riding. It'll get easier with time. Also, going slower is more difficult than 10mph+... A nice jogging pace is good to start with and you can safely bail if necessary

    I just made some of these and now I can finally jump up curbs! They do irritate the hell out of my ankles though, would that be because I made them too thick?

    25mm Double Sided Tape (white color): amzn.to/329HKtu
    Question: the link is (now) sending to LLPT Double Sided Tape for Woodworking Template and CNC Removable Residue Free 55mm x 108 Feet(WT261). Says the tape is for "woodworking template", but you still used this? It's in my shopping cart already, but I just want to make sure before I pull the trigger. Thanks in advance.

    • @KujiRolls
      @KujiRolls  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, i use tape like that since its pretty tacky, but also can be removed easily without damage.

    • @KujiRolls

      It depends on where you put the pad. For me, theres no interference, but just barely.
