Hey guys hope you liked the video, i'm seeing a lot of people having an issue with the cart going only one way. make sure you turn off the switch for the car to go back to the start. It is a bit manual but the reason for this is because if you want to stop it half way or make it go back at any point you have the option and I wanted to keep this farm as simple as possible. On that note it is possible to make it go back to the start automatically so if you want me to make a little update video on how to do that let me know.
@@luckiincasaito4389 i rebuilt the movement system basing it off a basic water system to get it to go, and used xnor, nor and xor gates, different from the video but it works for forward and backward now, I think he left a step out somewhere in the video.
Superb video, straight to the point! Not a 20min + gameplay to get to the info. I deeply appreciated it. Please do a similar video for auto base defense, like auto spud guns and traps.
I did a total rework of the logic setup on this build and have it fully working with the press of a switch. I am working on doing a recording of it and I will help anyone out that needs this help. Thanks for the build tutorial as everything else besides the logic portion is pretty much identical.
badrul Fakharudin I did in fact get it to return. I am not really good at editing videos and am having a hard time to get a video decent enough to post but I am working on it. The issue with the original build is the logic controls are not correct. I could show you in a game if you would like
I seriously can not get this thing to go backward. I have it setup just like yours however it travels forward, makes it to the end go back and forth and then travels all the way to the end and will not go backwards unless i hit the switch again then it repeats the backward and forward movement and travels all the way to the end and stops.
Great guide man, had problems getting it running, my bearings/controllers would not act like yours did. solved by replacing controllers with 2 electric engines. 1 forward 1 back. cheers man
I am having a problem with the wheels as well (read comments) I can get it to go one way but unless i change the wheels direction it won't ever go the other way.
i think if you just make the water part of it and put it in the middle thats good enough (basically repurposing the planting part because they are all the same thing)

Both my Controllers seem to be on constantly, so the thing doesnt move! If I turn up one Controller (increase the rotation or speed compared to the other), it will move. Would rather it worked with the button though! Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
Saw your original post on reddit and was inspired to build my own design based on yours. I pretty much came up with the same principle as you but slightly different. Am only using 5 pumps per row, because that's what I had at the time of building. I'm using binary logic to automate the machine to return into default position, I launch it by pressing a button (not switch) which toggles the memory to switch from 00 to 01, triggering the first controller and the and-gates on the sensors, as soon as it arrives at the end it switches from 01 to 10, disabling the first controller and enabling the second one which is just there so it can move back. As soon as it arrives at the end it toggles the memory back to 00 by using a sensor. I personally think your design is simpler and cleaner but both really are almost the same. Also mine's driving on two rails, left and right, because I found that the stability is a lot higher and I don't risk tipping the machine over by accident
what about an auto wall replanisher with vaccuum pipes? I mean it is probably easier to build a wall that can't be damaged but that might get "patched" and things
Amazing. By what means (schools, texts, diet, socialization) are you so intelligent? I barely wrapped my head around what you were up to after connecting the pumps to the logic gates. Does that mean the vacuums have some programming within them that detect for each item placed inside them? Like water dispenses only on dry ground? Or is the logic gate solely responsible for detecting that a plot can be upraded/altered? Thank you so much for the video!
Hey thanks for the nice comment :) The vacuum pipes actually don't have any logic currently in the game. The way it works is that the pumps only activate if the car is moving forward and if the switch that they are connected to is triggered by the notches placed on top (6:51) which are set up right above the soil/crops.
@@TheMrRgon Oh I see! at 6:21 you set the sensors to a range of 4 and the notches fall within that measurement at 6:51! You wrote a program in 3d while also constrained by survival mechanics using only a few component kits. Brilliant and elegant! I didn't know what the sensor range was for on the first pass at the video. That is so cool that you are skilled in both static and dynamic spatial ability. Thanks again!
Unfortunately this does happen sometime, from my experience its about 2 seeds or so for a 120 plant. It is caused by some pumps not firing so it doesn't waste seeds. It does happen randomly so I assume it is a bug and hopefully it will get fixed soon.
Haven't seen it happen myself but saw a comment saying that he made the platform out of wood and it would glitch off once you change the material it works fine... could try that.
@@antoniocarrenoarnedo9364 i originally used cement 3 to build bridge and wood for cart, and thats when i had the issues. i didnt change any materials, but i built a platform/wall at where the cart stops and that solved my problem. just make sure it doesnt block the dispensors and sensors.
When the collector pumps are activated they work, but when the seed and water launcher rows are activated for the first time they disconnect completely. The blue lights on the tube corners that indicate they are connected to the chest turn off, and won't turn back on until I disconnect and reconnect the vacuum pumps. Any help?
Is there something I am missing on how to get the carriage to go the other direction? I have watched your video a dozen times and for the life of me I cannot get the vehicle to return to where it started from. Hopefully I am missing a minor detail somewhere. Thank you for the great video. Also, after leaving the game the carriage/vehicle keeps falling below the track. How does one fix this without having to tear the track out each time to drop it back in place?
I haven't experienced any issue where it goes through the track so it might be a bug... for the backward part make sure you got the connections right and that you connected the logic gate of the switch to the back controller. the way it works is that the switch is connected to the front controller but the logic gate of the switch is connected o the back controller. This way they are opposite because the logic gate of the switch should be set to "NOR". make sure you followed the part after 4:30 correctly

I have rewatched the section at 4:30 several more times and still cannot work this out. @@bevins68 I got stuck for 2-3 hours with that issue. Is your controllers in a loop? For me re-doing the connections from zero while following this video step-by-step helped.
If you figure it out let me know, can even invite to my world to better understand the issue because for me, when it's off it moves forward and when it's on nothing happens. I too watched the video repeatedly, rewired it repeatedly, etc.
For those of you having issue with motion, I had to rebuild this at a new location, and I built a simple platform with the wiring in creative mode so you can download it and see all the required connections and sensor / logic gate settings. It uses less logic circuits for the platform, and is laid out in creative mode in a way you can easily see the wire connections, and test it if you build a simple runner track for it. here's the workshop link: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2118657575
im struggleing to build a good easy defence for around the wall. sawblades dosent work cause they are afraid of them and keep their distance. i tried with crusher traps but they glitch out. and spinning wood sticks only knock them over. ps great video. ill be building one of those in my world

As for me i just put two auto turret directly in front of the farm and the entrance to my base is in front of the turret. Then put a toilet sit on top of the farm so that the raid will try to get to you and the farm while the auto turret finish up everything. Not a single issue with this setup. My only not really an issue is that, I have too much loots from the raid to bring back to the refiner. Need to figure out automation for that too. :)

You do things soo fast and flick your camera non stop so i cannon see the the position you set wheels... happends alot in your videos. You go really fast without showing. You basically just do vocal over gameplay or something
This ticks me off. If you’re not smart enough too follow a block by block tutorial, don’t make the TH-camrs job to fix a problem that doesn’t work exist. You didn’t build it right. fix it. lol.

I had this problem, I remade the farm with the same blocks and it worked. I now have a mega farm with 240 soils.

Can you automatically put fertiliser in the plants, or is that not possible with vacuum pumps?
you can, but you have to hunt for fert or get it from the trader, the pumps will shoot whatever is in the connected chest

That’s what I use but made it one bit by inverting the output of 01 when going backwards

For some reason some soil is empty, the seed is not thrown at it, of all 120, 4 have not been planted. It's not a big problem, but I wonder why.

Pair that with a dedicated potato auto-farm that links to the ammo box and your farm is practically invincible.
