I am an American former Coast Guard officer (deck) married to a Filipina from Zambales, i am also a former faculty member of the NY State Maritime Academy, we are both now retired and live on a small farm in Pennsylvania. I am license as a Private Pilot, and have advanced degrees in both business and economics (transportation). I find your videos both educational and enjoyable, I hope to see more of them and welcome improvements in your production skills. I would recommend watching your videos to anyone interested in a maritime career. I wish you my sympathy in the loss of your father, fathers are important to the lives of their children, clearly your father had a big role in making you the man you are, may God bless his soul.

The spice of your TH-cam channel is your sea footage (and great voice). I'm guessing you're probably a bit tired of sea life at times, but it's what makes your channel special. At least now you've got a second reason to be at sea.

I could have continued sailing for another 5 years, the reason for not doing so was because I was always assigned to container ships which were getting larger and larger, the crew smaller and smaller and we were getting older and older. If it was possible for the company to operate the ship by joystick remote control from it's head office ( Copenhagen ) , it would have done so. After 42 yrs I quit. If I had to do it all over again, I'm pretty sure that it would be on bulk carriers. Less stress. I've watched all of your videos so far, and must say they are very good. I'll be looking out for more. BTW, I like your new colour green, and sorry 'bout your father. Life goes on.

This is good for those wanting to join as well as those who just have a fascination about shipping. By the way, my father passed away when I was at sea. Got the expensive sat phone call. Walked out of the radio room and back to work. Really makes a guy feel helpless and powerless when you are a long way from port and their isn't a damn thing you can do other than stand your engine room watch and think. Take care chief.

Discovered this channel while following what was going on with the Ever Given incident, and am SO IMPRRESSED with the video production quality on all his videos. His videos are like professional mini-documentaries, they are that good. I'd like to see how all the SJW's and snowflakes now infesting USA and UK, would handle some basic training. They would ALL be complaining (and crying) that the drill instructor was 'Mean to me!'. I think all those woke-folk in USA and UK moaning about how oppressed they are while living in countries with some of the best freedoms to be had, should be conscripted to serve for just a little while. If for nothing else then a serious reality check in TEAMWORK, which they ALL need. Desperately.

Very sorry to hear about the passing of your father. You have my deepest sympathy. I am the same age as your father.
That was one of my greatest fears about being at sea. The closest Situation I had was when I was Chief on a ship leaving Crete and called home to find out that my wife had been in a car accident. There was nothing I could do.
I had sailed with two other engineers who had lost there parents and they were not able to get off in time. It was very sad to hear their stories.
When I finally retired from sailing after 29 years, my wife had discovered that she had ovarian cancer. I thank God that I was able to take care of her during her last four years of life.
We only have one chance at life. There are moments that you may miss with your family that you will never be able to experience again.
You put out great videos and I enjoy watching the ones that I have watched.
This has been a tough year for most people around the world and I wish you and your family a much better, happier, healthier, prosperous and blessed New Year 2021!

Your videos are amazing, sorry to hear you lost your father, but life does move on, and I know he had to be very proud of you. I hope someday to see your ship as it pulls into the Columbia River.

I am a very big fan of you. I often saw your vlogs and it inspire me to study hard for this profession. I also watched your Study call programs, from the videos I learned many things about ship and it's engine. So please make more vlogs for us who are waiting to watch your sea farer life. and many many blessings for your future life and also for your family
