Hi all, Just wanted to post my success story too. My dial wasnt totally dead but did require a lot of spinning to get it to move at all. I did not spray like crazy, but I did lightly spray in from the top through the shaft with WD40 Specialist contact cleaner. My dial now clicks every time. Much improved in the feel now. The contact cleaner can work for you. Its cheap so it doesnt hurt to try.
I had been struggling for a long time with the selector switch on my LG washing machine. I followed your instructions and I am happily surprised that now the selector switch works perfectly. Thank you very much.
Is there a part number for that switch? In case the cleaner does not work, it might be worth while to replace just the switch instead of the whole board.

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel Thanks. I was able to fix it simply by spraying contact cleaner as you showed. But it is good to know the entire board is available if I ever need to replace it!
I want to buy a new circuit board for my old frigidair washing machine that has an 8 options selector button, but the board is no longer available, only a 9 option selector for a newer model. It looks exactly the same when it comes to size and attachment points and all, so I wonder if the new board would still work even though it has 9 options instead of 8. Life-hack-style.
Hello, I did everything but it seems that the pointy part that’s actually turning is also not responding and not the knob, i cleaned it like you said and still, what do you suggest?
Sure wish you would have shown how to get the selector knob off! I have the LG WM3670HWA and cannot get the knob off to clean the contacts like shown in your video.
I think it was really hard to get mine off also and I used a flathead screwdriver to gently pry the knob off of the plastic stem. Just take your time and push a little bit on each side of the knob as you wiggle it off.
Mine did this right out of the box brand new. Never bothered to contact LG because we normally just use the normal strain cycle now I need a an electric dryer and probably will not buy LG.
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel when I test it on the settings the hot and cold water fill it just won't sense the clothes in the wash and thanks to your video I fixed the dial so I appreciate that.

Excellent,
Thank you 😊
Thanks for sharing.
You literally made this world better.
Awesome,
Thank you 😊👍
To solve this problem, I play the song "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" By Bonnie Tyler while struggling to select my wash cycle. It seems to help.
Great idea 😊😊😊

My washing machine is not working what's wrong with it?
What do you notice Nora?
few LEDs are short thus failing the knob switch functioning
Yep,
I bet soldering in new LEDS would fix it.

6:03 great
Thank you😊
Didn't Work:(
I think it’s time to buy a new selector. You can use your model number to find a selector switch online👍
My washer is stuck on sensing and wont load the water in with the clothes? How to fix?
Can you try it on both hot and cold water loads?
Check the water valves on the wall to make sure they are turned all the way counterclockwise 👍
Can you see the basket spin a little?
