77. Narrowboat Living - Sometimes it's easier to 'keep your mouth shut!'

- Narrowboat Living - Leaving Tixall Wide on the Staff and Wocester Canal we journey on towards Penkridge.
The weather gets even worse than it has been of late, as Paul and Ernie get caught out in the hailstones at Radford Meadows. We pass the lovely, well kept Stafford Boat Club on our narrowboat journey only to find there are no eggs left at the next lock!
We moor near Acton Trussell and visit Penkridge Market. Paul gets canal rage and shouts out and then rants on camera all about it...Canal rage is quite different to road rage as on the canals you can pretty much guarantee that you will pass them again at some point and that is exactly what happens!!

I once did a couple Dagenham market and a couple of smaller ones and it was hard going 🫣 As for tiller handling, I am a lot more comfortable now but still have my panic moments 🤣😊

my idea of perfect living that is. i would have a stew cooking in a cast iron pot on top of the fire stove especially during winter to go with that bread ❤ i'd love to live on a narrowboat... would be so cozy in winter fluffy blanket home made bread and stew and a good book and my dog cuddled up to me... the hubby would be on his games 😂😂 my dog would NOT have gone out in that weather tho 😂😂 pugs are fair weather dogs

Hi Hugh, yes video 27 is about our solar set up but I think during the renovation vlogs we do discuss it and get it relooked at when we swap over our batteries to lithiam which is in a later vlog 😉 😊

Must always have the camera's rolling 🙂 Poor Ernie getting all wet and hit by the hailstorm. Looks like he recovered well tho from it 🙂 Love the scenery and how well kept some homes & properties are beside the canal 🙂 It was great to see one section of the 'towpath' was mowed.... but they need to get the weedeater out and trim the edge of the canal, to just finish the job off properly.🙂NZ*
Hi Andrea. Hope you're well. Think it's more of a case of quickly trimming the grass sections inbetween the wet weather at the moment, can't see them taking the time and care to actually do the job properly 🤣 😊
@@uponreflection *Yep I am well... The weather is all over the place... mind you it is winter here. I have been out and finally ordered the shower unit.. paid the 50% deposit... I have also brought a small heater for hotwater cupboard aka airing cupboard, since the new cylinders these days do not throw out any heat!! So when the shower unit arrives at the shop I shall be going to get it... no not on the motorbike lol and storing it, for when I get the job done. 🙂.*

Hi, good idea, although he's finally got the hang of it now we think. Also not sure if our battery set up would cope with an electric bread maker, something I'd have to look into 😊
