I headed up to the Peak District National Park for a Wild Camp, I decided to camp on top of Winnats Pass, overlooking Castleton.
The wind was hitting 30+mph, and snapped one of my tent poles, this was officially the windiest wild camp I've had.
I cooked up some dehydrated food and got settled in for a long night with no sleep.
The sunrise in the morning was worth all the hassle and broken tent..
The equipment I was using is listed below
Tent - Terra Nova Laser Competition 2
Sleep pad - Exped Synmat 7LW
Sleeping bag - OEX Fathom 300
Stove - Jet Boil Flash
Ruck sack - Vango Ozone 40 Ultralight

Mate, what a windy one that was!! 🤦🏻♂️ getted for ya tent, hate not getting any sleep on a camp! There were a few occasions here where I thought ya camera was going to go!!

It was mental all night 😂 I bet your pleased you didn’t come up! Camera went a few times, snapped my microphone off! I also tried using the tripod to prop the tent up after the pole snapped but the wind blew if and dropped on my head. Cheers for watching mate. Joe.

Really windy but it seams like it was a beautiful trip and we'll worth the wind. Just makes for a hard to shoot video I am sure...I bet a recorder or mic wrapped on your collar with a shamaug would help but back alot of that wind.🤠🤙Nice trip friend

It was an experience that’s for sure. I knew it was going to be windy and wanted to test the kit out and it certainly put it through its paces.

Shame about the weather, the views were great but could have been better with vibrant sunshine atb Taff 🤠

just one thing ...get a mike muff....apart from that stunning views, real hardcore wildcamp, stuck it out in conditions that lesser guys would go home!!!!.

I had a muff on but the wind blew my tripod over and snapped the mic off the top of my camera.
I do love a challenge, I’ll be heading out in a Bivvi bag once the snow falls.

Oops, not what a person needs in the middle of the night to struggle with a broken pole...have been their myself while it was pouring rain too...not a pleasant experience, but it goes with being outside...and on most occasions, a not so good day outdoors beats any good day at the office...lol...take care...
I think we’ve all been there before and will probably be there again, it makes you appreciate the good camps even more.

Yea it was really windy! Yes they made me up a new pole, slightly heavier than the original.
