I love to be outside exploring, either walking and wild camping in the hills or camping in the woods with a roaring fire.
I also enjoy canoeing and I will be heading out and camping along river banks, lochs and lakes.
And finally I love cooking over an open fire with cast iron pots and pans.

In this video, I head to the Lake District in my converted Landrover Freelander, I set up in a carpark close to Ullswater. Once set up I cook up some good food and enjoy a nice chilled evening before getting some sleep. I headed to the Peak District for a Wild Camp in my bivvi bag, I arrived and the weather was very overcast and cloudy. After I climbed to the top of Kinder Scout the visibility was down to 30 metres maximum. I have this brand new, completely forgot I had it! So chuffed I found it. I’m practicing packing it and noticed it’s perfect for 8kg but I needed more so it came to 10kg and it became a lot less comfortable :/ I’ve been trying to find what it’s max capacity load should be? I have just bought a standard no mods Freelander Adventurer. I have some standard jobs to do. After that I am going to add a few mods 50mm lift kit ordered. But I want to know about the most suitable off road tyres. Some recommendations please. Great video by the way, some great technical off road driving and lovely scenes. Cheers.

Hi, thanks for watching! My advice is to try and find an automatic one, I’ve heard they are better, mines an auto and not had any issues. Hope you find the right one.
A good video. But I do wonder how long five acres of woodland is going to last with all the camp fires.
I took some of my own wood with me, I had assumed it would be a popular spot and to be honest there isn’t much deadfall left. I would suggest anyone going to the island to take some rather than cutting down any more trees. Thanks Joe

Looked like a chilly one. Well done for enduring the harsh conditions but you had good gear which helps matters. You do need to look at your mic as it was really hard to hear you. To be expected unless you have a decent mic. Good tale
