The Christmas by the Sea Christmas Markets and magical wonderland return to Blackpool again this year and are located in front of the famous and iconic Blackpool Tower.
The Blackpool Tower Festival Headland, has been transformed in to a magical festive village, with log cabins, selling festive food and goods, a FREE outdoor ice rink, simulated snowfalls, larger than life light installations, magical projections and festive themed fairground rides.
We decided to take a trip to the Blackpool Christmas by the Sea, to see just what was on offer and see if it's actually worth a visit.
In this Blackpool Christmas By The Sea vlog, we check out and review some of the food on offer, we have a look around the whole festive site, we take a festive ride on one of the beautiful Blackpool Heritage Tram Rides, we walk the whole length of the famous Blackpool Illuminations, all the way from Blackpool's South Pier, past the Blackpool Central Pier and back to the Blackpool North Pier, where the Christmas By The Sea event is taking place.
We are also treated to a spectacular Blackpool Sunset, near the North Pier, where we get to see the famous Blackpool Starlings
We love Blackpool at any time of the year, so we were excited to visit and review this year's Blackpool Christmas By The Sea Festive Christmas Market, but was it worth traveling from North Wales to see what Blackpool had to offer over the Christmas period? Well, we'll let you watch it and see what we thought of this year's Blackpool Christmas By The Sea.

Welcome to the official Postcard & A Pint TH-cam channel.
Postcard & A Pint was thought up by my partner, Rachel & myself, Wills one day while taking our daily 1 hour exercise during the lockdown of 2020. All of a sudden, we were spending more time together, not working 6 or 7 days a week in the arts industry, and binge watching travel programs, and we were actually really enjoying it, and it made us re-evaluate what was important in life for us. Now back to working 6 or 7 days a week again, with very little time off, our happy time is getting out there on our brief times off together and making short travel videos that we are now sharing with you. Enjoyed the "Christmas by the Sea" tour, Rachel and Wills. Any festival that is 95% food is alright in my book. The bratwurst looked great! The lights are lovely and it looks like a fun town. Thanks for bringing us along. .

We really noticed on the drive in just how much it’s gone downhill which is heartbreaking as we love it. This was a good event though and fingers crossed it brings some money in for the town. Cheers for watching and happy Christmas. 🍻

Epic shots of the Starlings over the pier and beach - crazy how many there were! Love the Turkey in a Yorkshire Pudding Christmas wrap, I would definitely try one of those - not actually seen one of those before! Good to see the tram all dressed up in tinsel, I'm with you on the fairground rides, no way would I go on that either!! I've been to Blackpool in the summer (it was freezing cold) so it's good to see it at Christmas time! Merry Christmas to you both!
Cheers Matt, yep those starlings were a definite highlight for sure. It was a good event and Blackpool is always fun. Prices this year have been noticeably higher though! Now that, Rachel and Wills, was some sunset. And the birds, so gorgeous. I've seen a few clouds like that and I can't stop watching that waltz. I'm with you on the 'No No not high and don't spin me round' bit Rachel. Not on your nelly. The bus ride was a good way to save the feet a spell. Lights, music and the food. Oh the food. That's what those markets are good for. Love having so many choices. ( I interrupted this viewing-see photo on Instagram as to why). ~we have a wee market this year as opposed to other years. That did look like a fun night out, even if the illuminations weren't at their best, it still looked very pretty. Darkness and coloured lights is kind of like snow, it hides the ugly and looks nice!

We stayed in Blackpool during “Strictly weekend” in November. The Christmas village had just opened. You had better weather than us. Another great video.
We really lucked out with that sunset! Although I bet the atmosphere was great on the Strictly weekend. At least the tower didn’t catch fire 🤣🤣🤣

Lovely blackers sunset and starling display. A free ice rink? Wow. The Yorkshire Pudding wrap looked lovely. The £7 hot dog looked alright, these must be Christmas Market prices. The stall holders do get charged a rather extortionate rate so they have to reclaim it somehow. Love those old trams, glad they are still running. Nice loot on the falls! Do they still have the great lights from the gynn to red bank road? I love the massive placards. Well done Blackpool, great free display and loos! Well done on the video guys. ❤
It naught be tired be we always have a fun time in Blackpool. The sky was just stunning at sunset and those starlings were something else. The trams are incredible to think they’re so old and still running. The illuminations could do with an overhaul, or make the companies who have sponsored each section responsible for their upkeep! We’ve found in both markets this year that prices have been through the roof! We’ve definitely missed the German Christmas market this year. Cheers 🍻

It was a stunning sunset and the starlings were amazing to watch. I don’t think the ice was real to be honest. The Newfies certainly were though, gorgeous dogs!!! They do all seem to have a saliva problem but they’re so cute!!!! Cheers 🍻

Really enjoyed the vid. I live in St Annes just down the road but only make rare incursions into Blackpool. I miss the old trams .used to go round the stalls at Pleasure Beach but you have to pay now even if not going on rides. Attractions inside the Tower building not as good as they used to be. So its interesting seeing others viewpoint .Ive seen illuminations so many times but the best bits are away up from the North Pier and not on the main prom. Did a you tube vid last year walking from Fleetwood to Lytham Windmill going through Blackpool but it was also a bit of a pub crawl!
Ah thank you. We do love a visit to Blackpool. We too miss the days where you could go into the pleasure beach just to walk around, or maybe buy one ride. We only went into the tower a few years back and were absolutely blown away by the ballroom, what an incredible building. The sunset looked really nice! The starling murmurations are amazing. We get them down here on the South Coast every winter. Unfortunately they're on the decline here in the UK, and nobody's entirely sure why. Mmmm Xmas dinner burrito 😋 £9 is a bit much but as a one-off it's acceptable, you'd pay for that fish n chips nowadays! The German sausage looked decent, very impressive size, oo-er. I liked the festive vintage tram! Nice keyrings, they'll make good stocking fillers at least. Looks very nice all lit up. Cheers. The starlings were just incredible! Seeing them all sat in their flocks on the beach and then taking off, it was incredible. Add to that the perfect pink sky and we were on a winner! Prices at the U.K. markets this year have been extortionate, but as you say for a one off, you can cope! The German sausage was excellent and we love the vintage trams too. Cheers for watching 🍻

I spent the New Year in Blackpool. Those Christmas Yorkshires were actually £10 when we were there eek so a £1 rise again!
Im not sure if yous have ever been , but you must try out the Ma Kelly's Showboat for great cabaret acts (its the one just before Bispham)

Blackpool did look like a lot of fun. Not sure 18 bucks for a wrap and 14 for a sausage is good value though. But... German sausage.
It was flocking great! Imagine a 3 kilo sausage! We’d manage!! Blackpool is a lot of fun but is filled with a lot of stag and hen dos and loads of drunk people! It’s probably why they wouldn’t let you outside the mulled wine chalet with alcohol!! You can’t be trusted in Blackpool. The prices at all Christmas markets this year have been extortionate - that hook a duck game was £4.50! Shocking. The only free thing was the flocking starlings! Even the dogs were on the grab! Oo I might have lied on my last response - Yorkshire puddings are the food of gods. I cheeky batter of eggs milk and flour and baked to perfection! Served with traditional beef Sunday dinner!
