Bunjie (The O.B.) is a 2010 Excalibur Axiom Crossbow. After more than a decade of killing deer, hogs, squirrels, woodchucks, and even a bear, Bunjie is now semi-retired. Enter Bunjie III (or Bunjie '21, Bunjie 3.0, The Slick Black Cadillac of Crossbows) a 2021 Scorpyd Deathstalker 420, the result of trying various models and looking at dozens of them online for characteristics I liked. It is, in fact, a gift from a Friend of Bunjie, which goes to show how important Friends of Bunjie are to this channel and what an impact they can have. Bunjie III is a testament to modern crossbows, producing over .7 slugs of momentum and almost 140 ft-lbs of kinetic energy with stock arrows--at nearly 400 fps!
Bunjie, Jr., is my daughter Genevieve's crossbow, an Excalibur Micro Suppressor 355. This crossbow was also a much appreciated gift from a Friend of Bunjie, and it changed Death by Bunjie forever by inspiring Genevieve to become a part of our story as a second-generation crossbow hunter, and it also convinced me there is a benefit to a newer, faster crossbow (see our 2020 Maryland Doe Hunt).

Those schwackers are no joke. I’ve taken 4 so far this season with them blowing through like the deer are butter. The damage is awe inspiring.

Congratulations to you both on your great successes with all the Bungee's ! 😂 I two have broken a two year slump with my new Oracle X on my faithful 7 year 10 point Shadow NXT. I was in my tree stand and and a real nice 5 pt Buck came with in 10 yards. Now i know i could have used any scope, but i really feel the Oracle X was my good luck charm 😅 and working perfectly as i said "your mine" and fired.. i didn't record the shot but the camer across from me shows the shot instantly after the Shawaker exit. Small in -huge Out. Im sold 😂 within 25 feet he bleed out, only ran 30 yards. You have great sucess and keep it up. All hail Bungie 😂

If you pour the corn out in long lines leading directly away from your stand the deer tend to line up like cows at a feed trough. This gives you a lot of broadside shots vs a pile of corn where the deer can come up at any angle to eat. You'll notice they don't want to step all over what they're eating.
That's a great tip
I done that too. The only time they wanna walk all over the corn is when there a big group of does pushing each other around

Nice. Well, I got busted twice by the same buck so far this year. I was behind a ghost blind one the first hunt and was packing up. Didn’t hear him come in behind me. He heard me and then saw my head move around the bush behind me to see if anything was there before I got up to head home.
Second hunt I was in a tree opposite end of the field and I knew I heard something but dismissed it as the chipmunks that had been playing all afternoon. When I lowered my bag, and it was about 6ft off the ground. He bolted. I haven’t seen him since.

Awesome video as always. Congratulations on both deer. I own a Matrix 380 and wouldn’t trade it for near anything. Always kept the string off the bumpers and never had an issue. Started using Shwacker 150’s a few years ago. Love ‘em.
Only time I had an issue with the blade expanding was because a small pebble wedged in while shooting at a bag to see how the hole developed . Now I always make sure the blades can pivot without busting the band before loading. A 2 second check that produces a nice 3” hole. Love the blood trail, if they make it out of sight.

PS Rich, we can't bait anymore in Michigan but one of the first things that I learned was to prop up a couple of branches to prevent deer from accessing the bait from behind or in front, giving you a broadside shot.
