    Balzac was a famous french writer with a name that sounds funny to english speakers, much like Dumas.

Astro boy, Sonic ‘06, Sonic Boom. You would think their corporate heads would learn the lesson eventually. Let them finish.

    • @SgtTwilight
      @SgtTwilight 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      A fair number of DBZ games tend to be pretty good. I recommend Attack of the Saiyans which is a very solid little turn-based RPG. My best friend said that FMA: Curse of the Red Elixir was a pretty good game too. FMA also got a RPG on the GBA which looks solid with great sprite work but I didn't play much of it. Fullmetal Alchemist: To the Promised Day on the PSP was received pretty well IIRC. Digimon Adventure on PSP is pretty great, and Digimon Battle Spirit 1.5 is a pretty fun little Smash Bros clone. (Not counting Next 0rder, Cyber Sleuth or Hackers Memory since they're not based off any anime but are great in their own right)
      Slayers on SNES is fantastic, actually. Very fun RPG with great graphics for the time. Sotry wise it feels like a fanfic but an enjoyable ones. Ranma ½: Akanekodan Teki Hihou is actually a ton of fun too. InuYasha: The Secret of the Cursed Mask is a guilty pleasure but I think it's a legitimately fun RPG. Lost Heroes on PSP is awesome too, though it's more of a toku game than anime. Sailor Moon: Another Story is pretty neat. Super Robot Wars is a classic. Legend of the Super Saiyan hasn't aged well, but it's fun for what it is. Keroro RPG: The Knight, the Warrior, and the Legendary Pirate is legitimately great. I've also heard good things about the Fairy Tail PSP games.

    • @SgtTwilight

      Oh shit I forgot the best one of all, Astro Boy Omea Factor! That game is awesome. A beat'em'up with a surprisingly engaging story that made me teary eyed near the end. It captured what made Astro Boy great wonderfully while also being a love letter to Tezuka's works.

      You forgot to mention U. N. Squadron on Super NES which is based on the manga and the OAV Area 88 which was offered in VHS at the time at Manga Vidéo which is an anime on an airplane pilot who wants to be part of elite Area 88 where we will follow his progress in the air base elsewhere even during the VHS introduction of the Super NES we were talking about this game inovator.

    WHY ARE YOU DOING THE SLIDING ATTACK AND NOT FOLLOWING UP WITH THE JUMPING SLASH THAT YOU YOURSELF SAY IS OP. IT TURNS SMALL FRY INTO A CAKEWALK.
    Okay I got that out of my system. I think you suggesting or accusing anyone of liking SotB is purely out of nostalgia is genuinely garbage. Invalidating opinions without even considering very real possibilities as to why people might like a game is a shitty thing to do. I'm not gonna say SotB is a perfect game by any stretch, but it most certainly has more than enough going for it for people to like it, but I'm not gonna hold it against anyone for disliking it either. It has some pretty glaring flaws and to not recognize those would be kinda silly, but it's also not really fair to discredit it's merits and those who like it for them. On top of all that, the gameplay you showcased doesn't do your argument or the game itself justice and is, to be perfectly frank, shit. It's very disappointing to see someone rip on a game and not even utilize it's gameplay to even a fraction of its fullest potential, it just tells people you're incompetent or not even really trying and grossly undersells the game to people who don't know otherwise, which is bad when it comes to reviewing or criticizing video games as a whole.

    • @halfdarkshadow
      @halfdarkshadow 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christ man.....relax. Take a deep breath. Breathe in....and out. Okay, were good?
      But seriously though, he wasn't "invaliding" anyone's opinions. He just making some light jabs (via a joke) about the game. People can have other opinions as well, just saying.
      I had the game when I was younger and I thought the game was garbage and playing it recently didn't change my mind. You clearly have a nostalgia for the game and still really enjoy it, which is completely fine and more power to you, but next time I'd suggest learning to have a bit more of an open mind and understand people aren't going to like the same things as you.

    • @FrogofWarRS
      @FrogofWarRS 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      halfdarkshadow I don't have nostalgia for the game. Hell I didn't even get into Berserk or even have a Dreamcast until last year. I genuinely like SotB for what it is and what it DID do right, but am clearly aware of everything it does wrong, some of which he does touch upon and I even agree with him. The biggest problem here is that aside from how he prefaced the argunent with "If you like this game I hope it's because of nostalgia...," he does a poor job at really showcasing the hows and whys and ends up sorta looking like a boob flailing his arms about, which I already mentioned is just grossly underselling the game and making it look worse than it really isn't. And if any part of it was a joke, it was poorly told (I got the GOD HAND joke obv, everyone does).
      Also if I seemed kinda out of hand, I'm sorry. I wasn't really trying to being hot-blooded, pissed off, or anything, just annoyed and disappointed. He can do better than that. Any critic can.

  • @camaraslaurentiu3811
    @camaraslaurentiu3811 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    The Berserk game is quite fun in my opinnion, it is outdated yes, but for being a hack and slash game which came before devil.may cry or onimusha i think it did a good job with what they tried. The gameplay is ok-ish and the localization iffy as heck but the story, music and atmosphere the game introduces are perfectly fit for a berserk game.
    Balzac's story (or however u write his name) mimics guts experience with casca,showing what some people will go through in order to help that person they love the most. The music is fantastic, from remixes like Zodd II and Forces II to new and outstanding songs like Indra , it sounds like the 1997 anime ost😁.
    I recommend the game, even if all just for its story!
    Ps: great video, keep them coming

    Bad Anime Game - Lupin the 3rd: Treasure of the Socerer King (plays a lot like those FMA games)
    Good Anime Game - Blood Will Tell (Not really anime stylized, but based on a Tezuka Osamu manga. Nostalgia tells me it was fun, killing demons with sword arms.)

    11:56 wtf? you don't need to push all those buttons to charge ki, nor play with the analogue sticks. Just press hold the circle button. The fki fireball only shoots when you tap it.
    The game was very fun, of course it was a bit behind it's time, but you just didn't get good at it, like most game youtubers that just hover over the games and if they don't master it in seconds complains about difficulty. You CAN connect combos doing hitting techniques even combining with some ki blasts, you CAN hit Goten and Trunks just duck punching and kicking and even with flying kicks and punches. You just didn't get good at it.

    Sword of the Berzerk its very bad yes but compared to all the other ones that are localized its the "best" Berzerk game you can get, yes the voice acting is atrocious, the gameplay its so fucking bad that you have to fight yourself to not rage quit every 5 mins or less, but i dunno it has certain charm to it, its a guilty pleasure for me since there is no Guts mods for Dark Souls (i dunno if i missed them or nobody never did a real Guts mod for that game) because that could be the real deal, at least in gameplay and visceral action i know Dark Souls isnt the way to a perfect Berzerk game, goddamn just give Platinium the rights to make a fucking berzerk game already dude! no this Omega Force/Tecmo Koei bullcrap.
