Since I don't know that much about cars, I'd shout "standard" in James May style to that bodykit. Great video once again! I'd prefer if the videos lasted 20-30 minutes though. 😉 That's because I almost missed this video of yours. Only after I heard today my brother-in-law's recently purchased second-hand BMW got damaged due to winter tires not keeping it on the crystal clear icy gravel road in the Finnish country-side (the recovery vehicles have been busy in that piece of road all winter), I remembered to find time to watch this. Those shorter ones would be easier to check out straight after release. ☺️
Great video Phil, personally I would leave it factory original. I would spend the money repairing the small cosmetic damage, it looks beautiful as it is❤.
I personally wouldn’t bother with the performance kit on this car. Are you going to refurb the alloys? The money would be better spent there for me Phil. Very low mileage for an 8 yo car, nice 6 pot motor 👍❤️😎
Get wheels refurbished, front Bumper repainted & decent Valet, Leave the Body-Kit as its better to leave it all Original as it will be easier to sell when you have finished with using it.
BMW methods state any front suspension damage means the steering rack must be replaced, there could be a broken tooth within the gearing inside the rack, it's not the body shop upping the quote, it's due to thatcham and BMW repair methods
@@Pigeonmilk89 yes, garage does the repair estimate as per thatcham and manufacturer repair methods and then the estimate is sent to the insurer for approval, more often than not the estimate comes back with repair time reduced, blends for paint taken off, they also want discount on parts as well
@@SXI1972 I’d agree insurers are keen to write cars off. I’m in the repair industry and feel strongly that cars that are salvaged should only be allowed to be sold for parts. Not put back on the road bodged back together without a glance at methods. TH-cam gives the wrong impression that this is easy to do.
The control arm bushes are fluid filled. When torquing subframe bolts the suspension should be under load at working height. Torquing them in a relaxed fashion then placing suspension under load will in effect twist and tear the bushes in time, the fluid will leak casing premature failure. The car will also drive like a pile of shite. 👍🏻
Hi Phil, nice cari think if you are going to spend money on the car get the wheels refurbished. The kit might look nice but sounds very cheap so maybe not the best quality.
A quality wheel refurb will be much more valuable and striking than that performance kit.Vehicle is more appealing in it's original form and will therefore attract more buyers. If the new owner wants to put the aftermarket, cheapy kit on then that is their choice. Not going to give you £300 more for an aftermarket kit, might have paid the bit extra if it was genuine BMW kit though.
Get bits , make it look a bit less grandad and a little different it’s not like it’s a fortune for the bits 👍🏻I for one would like to see them getting fitted .
Why throw money at trinkets to make the car look like something it isn't meant to be when the wheels need refurbishing and there are dents and a paintwork issue on the front panel to be sorted out.
Another one saved Phil, but this is just disgusting the insurance quote.... no wonder were paying top money and every car which has a bit of damage they either scrap of write off....
Just a little constructive criticism. Really do like the video's but I wish you didn't waffle on so much and keep going over the same thing and just get on with the job in hand. 👍👍
The problem is not insurance companies or the repair shops. It's society and claim culture. The vehicle can be fixed up and running as good as for not a lot, but if that car is in an accident that injured or killed someone then who ever did that repair is going down.. they face all kinds of legal issues from different parties. Claims from all sorts of people that were involved in accident sue the life out of everyone involved. This is why cars don't get repaired cost effectively and parts always have to be brand new dealer parts. The society of people have caused these repair issues.
You say you have so many cars your working through but we never get to see them because one week your on then we don’t hear from you for weeks 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫
I would ignore the bodykit, sort out the dents and have the wheels refurbished. That would make a beautiful car…
I agree with others that say not to bother with the M kit spend the money getting wheels refurbished......
Get the wheels done and not the kit....😍😍😍😍

6 pot?
Six cylinders
is 4 pot...
@@bobbanton8330 I thought they were 4 cylinder aswell
I think the black kidneys look hideous , don't fit em .

Hi Phil ,enjoyable vid, might be better to do wheels than kit, obviously your choice, enjoy your channel.
Mark
I would do the wheels 1st Phil definitely it would be loads better than think about the kit maybe 😊
Great video Phil, I would leave it as it is other than refurbish the alloys and sort the dents.
Well done Phil good job 👍
Keep it standard don't waste your money Phil 😊
BMW methods state any front suspension damage means the steering rack must be replaced, there could be a broken tooth within the gearing inside the rack, it's not the body shop upping the quote, it's due to thatcham and BMW repair methods
Must be thousands of BMWs that should have had steering racks that are on the road. Also it’s garage that does the repair estimate not the insurer.

@@Pigeonmilk89 totally agree, it's the fact as well that if the salvage car has a current MOT it still stands....bodge it, drive it.
11500 pounds to repair ,that is the insurance quote. At 33.10 minutes in he Finally tells us the Cost!
Sad Story....
no kit needed lovely as it is.
Yes Phil, wheels refurbished dents done and body kit would look good 👍
Great fix mate
Hi Did they leave clubs in the car?
Lovely car id do the dents machine polish great valet and leave standard ps i had those alloys a total nitemare with potholes

Lovely car Phil, nice job! Will the 4 wheel alignment need doing?
So many cars get written off for a small amount of damage, it's ridiculous
Hills salvage . Sell loads of green parts now to body shops . Second hand parts . For Insurance repairs . Know this for fact ..
I always say try and keep cars original. Hope he got a chunky payout from his local council.
Definitely add the m performance bits. I’ve done it to mine, massive improvements and will make it easier to sell.
yes you should put a performance kit on this car but only if you plan to keep it yourself .
I think it looks fine as it is
I agree get the wheels refurbed but no shoddy cheap bits its not an M SPORT
It is an M sport. It has all the M sport trim on it.
Definitely just get the wheels done with the £300 otherwise a good video, nice car
Nice quick fix for ya buddy
did the indicaters work for the mot its very rare to see a bmw with working indicators
😂 Made me chuckle
I would get the tracking checked and the wheels refurbished, don't bother with the aftermarket kit.
Needs alloys doing and a rear lip spoiler
Hi Phil, nice cari think if you are going to spend money on the car get the wheels refurbished. The kit might look nice but sounds very cheap so maybe not the best quality.
Please don’t leave callipers hanging by the pipes 😮😮😮😮😮spotted this mistake on the rear 😢
And the front 😢
I wouldn't bother with the M kit. But it does make it look a little more special.
Car looks good as it is turned out really nice well done Phil
Thumbs up for the M Performance bits 👍

Yes to the body kit.👍👍👍👍
Definitely go with the kit it really helps the look of them.
I put a febi control arm on my E38 Last year it failed its MOT on control arm again 7 months ,
Will the wheels off the white one your scrapping fit onto that one,or are the tyres badly worn..??
Great result & content 👍
Get wheels done not kit, has the Skoda taken up residence, been there ages.
How much will you be asking for the BMW I'd be interested especially with the body kit Adam
Phil, leave the stupid body kit off, concentrate on the body dings, before the rust sets in.👍🥂
Get bits , make it look a bit less grandad and a little different it’s not like it’s a fortune for the bits 👍🏻I for one would like to see them getting fitted .
Need a new video Phil
spend the 300 on the dent man a good valet and buff, reaiiy enjoy your content phill cheers
is this a 3ltr v6 nice power .
Straight six, bmw do do a v6
@@georgedaville4662 yeh i meant v6
Add the extra trim it deserves it after the great job you have done make your mark on it.😊
Looks a good buy Phil, the body kit would be standard body kit as its a m sport... like a vw r line meant to make it look sporty.
Wouldn't bother with the M performance kit. Keep it all original IMO
How much are you wanting Phil
Hanging on the lift the near side front wheel is hanging much lower than the offside, worth checking not an SE strut fitted.
Why throw money at trinkets to make the car look like something it isn't meant to be when the wheels need refurbishing and there are dents and a paintwork issue on the front panel to be sorted out.
Get the wheels and dents sorted, forget the kit,
You never say how much your selling them for tho.
No point adding the kit and leaving those wheels in a mess.
Another one saved Phil, but this is just disgusting the insurance quote.... no wonder were paying top money and every car which has a bit of damage they either scrap of write off....
No body kit; you have not the time with the vehicles stacking up.
Hell yeah, get the M peromance kit on this car! it will suit nice
I agree with the majority leave the body kit of and do the wheel refurb .
😊👍
fit trim kit all day long
Shame no proper overalls in a commercial garage. Looks like an under the arches job.
Nope would never buy a car with a fitted kit ... can't beat standard
Don’t bother with the stick on bits, it makes em look “Barry’d”. I bet it made a bucking fang when it hit that pothole, oooofta
Just a little constructive criticism. Really do like the video's but I wish you didn't waffle on so much and keep going over the same thing and just get on with the job in hand. 👍👍
Yes this is why I stopped watching his channel
I would have to agree. I watched in the early days and struggle to not get bored in I’m honest.
I wouldn't, you might not get your money back Phil.
Wouldn't bother with the M sport kit. Keep it original. If I was buying and I wanted it to look like an M sport, I would just buy an M sport
Price ? As is
Ye im up for that but are you still in prophet at the end
Defo put m kit on will look 😍what you thinking of asking for the car when your finished ££..??
Don't bother putting aftermarket crap stuff on Phil , original is best , have the wheels refurbished, will make it stand out from the crowd
Refurb the wheels instead
It makes the car look cheap
Come on man, spending £300 on a kit when the wheels are so tatty
Hello mate long time no see
Reckon alignment might be slightly out !!!😂😂
Hi phill yeah I wud buy the kit for it
Would be nice to get updates about your channel Phil as you disappear for weeks??
Yes put the m kit on 👍
What wrong with WHite beemer
That front wheel is goosed……don’t put that back on …..
Hello 👍
M performance kit 🙋🏻♂️👍
Yes phil put body kit on.
Please no! Original is a must
Forget about the rubbish kit all black parts look rubbish and make the car like a boy racers car

That ridiculous bmw price gives us a chance to make money ?
Just fixed a 2016, F22, spent £1400 on parts and 50 hours of my time.
Nike Air Just Do It
don't fit it, its not original and i'm sure you will be able to tell it's a £300 chinese nearly fits aftermarket job
Not impressed by the kit and I would rather spend to get the wheels and dents sorted. Thanks for the video.

When do you plan on coming on next …1,2,3,or 4 weeks lol….
Seems to me you consentrate. On the look of the car rather than structure/ safety of the car..🤔🤔🤔
