Hey phil you know it probs recharged it self after the car started? I imagine it builds up enough charge in a short amount of time enough power for a one time start, then as it was connected began recharging after car starting. Who knows, great piece of kit really

ST came with all the parts ,it's surprising how much easier it is when you've got things like calipers, bolts, etc.👍

You deserve all the subscribers as you are a genuine guy producing great content 👍👍. Looks like it lost an argument with a pavement, also the front seats are heated. They sre door edge protectors, great idea. Also with the keyless entry keep your keys in a faraday pouch in the house as car thiefs can boost the signal and steal the car
Wise words, since the day i drove my S4 out of the showroom i've always kept the keys in a metal tin! Great idea keyless go, but not the most safe idea at the same time!
@@SeriousAboutSalvage keyless go is great it's just the keyless entry that is the problem. Manufacturers have now fixed this issue by getting the key fob to go into sleep mode and not transmit after being inactive for 15 seconds. Should have done this from the start
That battery booster is a good idea.
Charger it off you battery while everything is ok and Chuck it in with the spare wheel for a OMG moment 👍

Looks like a reasonable fix Phil, result that the bumper is on deck! Save you a fortune on buying a new one with all the fixings and grill etc.

It’s a beautiful looking car, hope you can repair it as cheaply as possible, I am familiar with those remote door edge protectors which deploy as the door opens because I have seen them before on certain higher spec Škoda models such as the Octavia Laurin & Klement.

I've driven one of these a 2013 63 plate really liked it alot of car for the cheap money they go at I couldn't insure on at my age but if I could I'd seriously consider having one

You could get a diesel space heater for these winter months for when your working in the unit . Also if you did decide to keep it put a Cat2 immobiliser on it.
Great choice of cars lately. Keep it up. Only down side to your promo of the booster pack is that you never pressed the start button to show us the car was dead. Neither did you pull on the boot when you said that wouldn’t open. Would of been nice to see that as reassurance that it really is completely dead. However if it is that dead then that jump back Is most deffo worth the money. Didn’t even struggle and it stayed on after running for few minutes.

Nice little project! Looks like the driver clipped something immovable like an unexpected bit of kerb. The pop out bit on the door are the automatic door edge protectors ford have fitted for a. Number of years. They normally work fine, or they did on my car.

My first bit of salvage arrived. I got quite lucky, just the alloy steering knuckle snapped at the thin piece near where the shock bolts up. The Driveshaft has fallen apart where they've lifted it and the wheels flopped out 😂

Bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing the Focus ST, looks like an ordinary estate but I believe they are quite a quick car! Looks like a good find and should be in an interesting rebuild. Your new unit is just the job for all your rebuilds just need a bit more equipment sure it will come in time.

Great car, great content. Worth keeping I’d say. I drive an Impreza Wagon and they tick all the boxes. Fast if you want to be a hooligan or useful for family stuff and shifting a fridge 😄 Keep it, you’ll love it 👍🏼

Slid on full lock into a curb, knackered the wheel, continued to rotate and ripped everything off causing the wing damage as the wheel made a break for freedom would be my guess, cheers Rich
I know you have some time before the engine gets warm but I was willing you to get your move on while the engine was running 😅 Next time you can put the water into the coolant reservoir before starting it. Armchair mechanic tips here 😉

Another good video Phil, there called door edge protectors alot goes missing easily replaced though either on ebay or local Ford dealer about 20 quid each, just check the key is under the ford bit on the fob coz they can be quite expensive to replace
