In my opinion, konosuba was made like this. Let's make a isekai where we do everything WRONG but have it look good and hide the fact of everything being wrong by TRYING to make it funny. I mean seriously, the "heroes" are awful and flawed people while the "villains" are rather well-behaved and nice?
They basicly redefined what an isekai is to main stream fans of the genre and helped cultivate a new wave of isekai, without Konouba stuff like overlord might not have been adapted
@@HarveyKing0 I understand that it was meant to be parody, but it just wasn't funny. A parody is meant to be seen as you making a joke out of something. But you can do a parody poorly. I think a true parody would have been the opposite of what they did. Instead of hiding flaws with colorful visuals, you be serious about it So that means somebody does something stupid and you got to take it seriously. It goes from sad clown to serious clown. I feel like being completely serious about something that shouldn't be taken serious in the first place would be a true parody. So with that in mind. The comedy isn't from watching them fail, it is watching them take something that should never be treated seriously as something very serious.
@@chasetanner4822 This video goes over Season 1 of the anime, which is pretty old (2016) so the humor is outdated to most people. For other Isekai's the main character is usually dropped into a world with former knowledge, OP gifts, or something that makes them different. Konosuba is different in this aspect and has Kazuma choose to take Aqua rather than equipment purely because she got on his nerves (something other people wouldn't do). Kazuma has practically nothing except his luck. Stats are bad, his teammates can't really do much, and he barely survives the easiest missions.
@@commandandconquer6303 Kazuma can't really even use his luck because it is mostly being used to keep the team alive. If kazuma didn't have such a high luck stat, everybody would have long been dead. Kasuma's greatest asset to the team is keep his sinking ship of a party afloat with his high luck stat. Every instance of kazuma not being with his party, he thrives. His party is quite literally holding him back.

It’s called a parody on a genre and using anti meta tropes
