- Isekais are notorious for three things: usually being trash, god-awful tropes, and OP main characters. While the first two aren’t always true, the last one is almost a given! Today, we’re putting the king of isekais, Rimuru Tempest, to the test against four other overpowered MCs: Rudeus Greyrat from Mushoku Tensei, Ainz Ooal Gown from Overlord, Shadow from Eminence in Shadow, and Misumi Makoto from Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy.
To keep things fair and square:
We're only using the anime versions of these characters in their current states.
No backup from their organizations or kingdoms.
It’s just the characters themselves-no Rimuru summoning any pocket dragons!

Raphael just gives Rimuru too much of an advantage. If Makoto had something like Raphael in his head helping him learn how to use his abilities, he would be unstoppable. He's just a 16yo kid trying to figure these things out on his own. Keep in mind that lake was created using the equivalent of a level 1 spell with a couple explosives, that being devices he used to store the excess mana he radiated. Now he has much more control of his powers, knows a lot more about magic, and while they haven't explored it yet, the ability the Goddess just unlocked for him, being that he now can understand all languages, means that he can control all magic. Remember, even before he gained the new divine skill (why his brain broke after the goddess unlocked it), he had figured out ways to shorten magic spells by altering and condensing the words used. He could even create new spells that he himself couldn't cast (wind and healing), but were highly effective for people with those talents. So now he has his immense mana pool and can create spells just by speaking the ancient words. Could he wipe out Rimuru completely? No, but that's because he has parallel existence. As long as Veldora exists someplace using a body cloned from Rimuru, then part of Rimuru exists and can recover. Rimuru just hasn't figured that out yet, the same way Makoto doesn't know about his new powers yet.

Also, if you're going to compare Cid's ability to go nuclear to Rimuru, keep in mind that Cid's ability allows him to cast spells on a city-wide, or possibly even kingdom-wide scale. Cid used his ability to turn all the ghouls in a city back into normal humans, and even healed everybody in a city instead of killing them all (I don't remember if that has happened in the anime, or was something I read in the manga). While Rimuru could possibly heal everybody that was injured in his town or army if it was attacked, he can't do it instantly on a huge scale, all at once like Cid. He would have to gather them all together within his immediate vicinity, then cast some sort of healing effect, or maybe somehow expand his slime form to cover them all and heal them with the effects of a greater heal potion or something. Cid's greatest power seems to be that he can make up a story about something happening that seems like complete fantasy, on the fly, and have it turn out to be accurate and true, as if the Gods of his world are setting the stage for his performance.

One thing about Rimuru, he's got a lot of power even at this point in the story but arguably that's not where he's really dangerous, it's his ability to think and calculate. His army wiping laser spell wasn't actually that powerful magically, probably just a little more than a party trick for an in-universe competent magic user in terms of magical power used, it's only effective at all because of his Great Sage later Raphael ability that can perfectly control it and turn it from some floating water into a high powered laser array.

He can have 10 years of strategizing with Ciel using Thought acceleration and still have time to imagine his Elf Club, he would only lose if overwhelmed heavily in raw power and the only one in the list that could do that is Makoto since he can just power up permanently in a few minutes or less.

In terms of growth, Rimuru has the most cheapest cheat named Ultimate Skill Raphael which gives him fucking everything. Makoto had to literally build most of his power from scratch himself. So I usually don't bring Rimuru in those discussions

I think youre forgetting rimaru only survived disintegration by sacrifice a unique skill and most of his magic. Also claiming he can maxh sid with a sword even with his forsite skill is insane. Sid isn't just a really good swordsman. He master swordsmanship so well that every tiny movement is the best possible action.
I know it technically isn’t isekai but i would love to see Anos Voldigoad from The Misfit of Demon King Academy in one of these. I think it would be way closer fight than the people in this video he clearly stomps.

Literally, during the final fight he got sent to the end of time, Ceil asked if he wanted to rebuild the cosmos as an exact replica of how it was when he was sent away, he said "Nah, it just wouldn't be the same. Lets go back." And went back to the fight Literally moments after he was sent away.
rimuru also has the pocket dragon as a backup because he wont actually ever die without veldora dying first

Considering that rimuru's skill bealzabub has a statement to be capable of consuming a space time continuum if he allowed his skills to run amuck (and it being applicable to the light novel and web novel, and thus being cannon in every version of the series), I'm fairly certain rimuru couldn't be beaten by anybody in this list (if this even mattered for determining the winner) not to mention rimuru being immune to physical attacks

There IS an Isekaid character who can beat (this current) Rimuru though.
Takatou Yogiri, codename Alpha-Omega.
He is literally the end of all things in human form. Like he says 'Die' when he wants to 'kill' sth, but he's not actually killing anything, just taking it to it's absolute end. And yes, this works on magical spells and mana as well, so it should work on Rimuru's skills as well. He can literally even 'kill' Raphael, since he has the ability of tracking intent.
He does get pretty exhausted doing this though. Currently, with only 2 gates open to him, he can use his End ability roughly 100 times before he literally collapses into some sleep state.
So It boils down to, can Rimuru survive 100 End uses? And that has to be without having the intent to kill, because as soon as he does it's GGs to Rimuru's soul directly.

Where you get 100 end uses from? Did you read the novel ? Yogiri didn't have limitations like that from vol 1-14. I don't know much about instant death sequel though. Yogiri didn't have to use 100 times to kill rimuru if his targeted all of rimuru, example of that when yogiri kill the sorcerer and his billions of part in other species. When yogiri "kill" it's automatically kill it all the target has and if the target has multiple part and separate from the target, yogiri just change target to all related part from target even though yogiri didn't know where's it, how much part and when it is. Unless yogiri got outhax or his target is higher dimensional being than his true form, then yogiri will lose but rimuru is not that (based on WN from what I know, I don't read ln tensura) imo.

Rimuru is, basically, what fan fiction in an OP iseakai world looks like.
I highly disagree since Cid is basically Rapheal and Rimiruru the fight is more 50-49% in either's favor and yes Cid whole shtick is pulling techniques out of his ass. his near autistic level of obsession with fighting and honestly HORRIFYING ability to BS his way through anything is still tied to his near perfect genius state of mind (only in battle). This one is a deranged fight that pits two adapters against each other. The fight will evolve at a rapid rate as they both get further and further drawn in.
It boils down to rock, paper, scissor, GUN, GOD, DEVIL...
The problem is that Rimuru moves and reacts are more than light speed and can increase his thinking speed by millions of times with thought acceleration. Cid has absolutely no feats to back up how he could even perceive Rimuru or even land a single hit on him.
Cid does not have the brain speed of Raphael, and he loses because he is not able to harm Rimuru's soul. Raphael's auto-battle mode is far superior to Cid's skill with a blade. As stated in the video, he survived disintegration, which is far superior to 'I Am Atomic' when it comes to killing a singular person. Disintegration is an attack that causes spiritron decay within the target. Anything within the area of effect gets erased at the speed of light, and not even souls can avoid annihilation. Now Rimuru can produce that attack. On top of that, no attack Cid produces can break through the Universal Barrier.

It’s more explained in the novel that atomic destroys everything, including your soul because it could destroy spiritual power as well can damage the imagination. This is also how he kills Ragnarok.
@@liamgillies3182 Due to how Tensura's Soul works, I'm not sure if that would work against anyone that exists within the Tensura universe, even though the soul is powered by a dense collection of spiritrons, which act as a source of power. I highly doubt he could manipulate, let alone destroy, spiritrons due to their unique nature. That's the problem with cross-verse power scaling.

ainz's goal of all life is death and time magic has a much higher chance of killing Rimuru than you think. first - even though hinata's attack was faster than light it was not as fast time stop(I know physics says that faster than light theoretically means you go back in time but in tensura's anime that is not the case). later on in the light novel Rimuru takes a while to learn to adapt to a time stop ability of demon lord guy and can only see what is going on during time stop not able to move or react initially. if the ability the goal of all life is death is able to kill souls than it would kill Rimuru fully. but by the skills description it should be able to kill Rimuru but not permanently as people are able to survive the skill with a resurrection item. so i think if Rimuru and ainz were to fight going all out the instant they saw each other while not knowing each other's abilities ainz would be able to kill Rimuru but Rimuru would be able to revive later due to the soul corridor with valdora.
overall I think Rimuru would lose the first fight they had at current anime levels however that doesn't mean he won't come back and win a second match.
Rimuru is not able to auto revive currently it would take some time for Rimuru to revive

Debatable. I don’t think Rudeus ever stood a chance but I feel like some of the others could stand on par with pre-demon-lord Rimuru. For example I dont think Makoto would lose that fight so simply, he wouldn’t win by a landslide idk who would win but I think the match is pretty even

Yea I understand how overpowered rimuru is, but you're smoking if you think he beats ainz before he becomes a true dragon. The goal of all life is death is an absolutely busted ability that Ainz has that can kill anything even if its immortal. And rimuru has no way to combat time stop until he becomes a true dragon. Anime rimuru gets folded by ainz but light novel rimuru wipes the floor him without even blinking.

I think it's unfair to compare cid to Rimuru because in cid's world there no magic that can destroy the soul, but if cid was born in Rimuru's world he would learn it because even within his world there was still nothing for him to learn so if cid reincarnated in rimuru world he will high chance to beat him

I get where your coming from but from that perspective the far more raw deal is Rudi, he has the physical defence of a human his most powerful abilities are powerful for his world but he doesn't beat Rimuru at the orc invasion arc because there is a fundamental difference in the power scaling of the worlds Predator is enough for all but his most powerful magic but even then Rimuru is faster and can kill him before he does anything

Riumru would solo no dif. He can create, destroy and absorb constructs that are bigger than their entire vers combined and is immun to all Physical attacks, Natural influence, abnormal conditions (Immun against all elements status effects like fire, heat, time, physics, gravity, Instant death, mind controle,...) and is highly resistant against magic, Spiritual attacks, holy demonic attacks... (Resistant against mind contole, soul/spirit attacks, conceptual attacks, existence erasure, soul manipulation, power manipulation/ steal,...)
Not to mention his Passive barriers that can block attacks that transcend space and time and even existence erasure + everything he knows of is also negated.
Uriel alone gives him a defense that can passively negate most thing and an active defense that can negate (near) everything + seal it too.
it also gives him law manipulation that let him controle all principles be it scientific or magical. (that includes Life, death, causality, reality, space, time, souls,...)
Beelzebub is also able to eat all of them at ones ignoring space and time (can even eat that) even concepts can be eaten by him with no limit.
Raphael would analyse them with a glance and can use the optimal way to defeat them.
Btw rimurus aura would be enough to kill them + he can just deny their existence with tempter

Now, if we talking light novels. I know two characters that could beat even light novel Rimuru. They are Shiro from "Nanomancer Reborn: I'm a Snow Girl Now" and The Celestial Child (TCC) from "The Hybrid Mage". You should read both, they're really good. All three of these characters are considered gods. Rimuru is a God of Space-Time , Shiro is a God of Machines and Destruction and TCC is a God of Creation

This is for everyone not familiar with Overlord. Light novel rimuru stomps this list easily, anime rimuru loses to Ains bad. Ainz has time stop and a busted ability "The goal of all life is death" which kills you even if you're immortal. Not to mention Ains can time it perfectly so that as soon as his time stop ends the goal of all life is death begins. He used it in the first season against shalltear and anime rimuru literally has no defense for either.
Just imagine that rimuru can think million x faster than a regular human and can has nullification and an always active barrier and automatically deploy it's ultimate skill to shield him or eat the attacker entirely
this is accurate since rimuru weakness on LN is only the time stop but after raphael evolve to ciel he overcame that but the current rimuru on what we see on the anime don't compare to ainz yet.

There are characters with unique skills that have beaten characters with ultimate skills. Perfect example, Dagruel was going to kill valentine and going toe to toe with veldora with no ultimate skills. And "the goal of all life is death" bypasses any immunities or immortality. It buffs ainz instant death magic to the point where even if you have resistances, it still kills you. As long as you're alive you die, hence the name. Honestly it kills undead to, so as long as you have sentience you die.
Edit: And rimuru in the anime has no defense for time stop. Michael would one shot rimuru as he is right now just off that ability alone. And if you try to use the "ultimate skills only beats ultimate skills" argument. Only someone with a world item can beat someone with a world item. You see how dumb that sounds?

The one caviat I’d say for the fight against Ainz is how the tenth tier spell we see in the anime works. All of that magic is consumed as a ritual of sorts, it doesn’t actually do anything to the targets. What kills the targets is the literal act of a god. But I still don’t think he’d be able to activate it in time

Shadow's mana (aura in Tensura) is so dense that it materializes in a solid form with ease. Rimuru's mana doesn't materialize meaning it's not dense enough. Makoto forces his mana to solidify. Meaning out of the three, Shadow's mana is stronger. Since they're all being put up together when each world they come from have different sets of rules, if you're just gonna take them at face value, Shadow is the strongest when it comes to magic output

The only one I disagree with is the Ainz one, he has way better gear then Rimuru and defensive magic that is on par with him.
Ainz also has Anti scrying magic that would stop Rimuru from seeing Ainz actions with magic, so his ultimate death magic would have actually kill Rimuru and Rimuru adaptation isn’t instant so he wouldn’t just counter death magic but it is extremely fast.
I am pretty sure Rimuru might get a counter to time later on but that isn’t in the anime

ainz's goal of all life is death and time magic has a much higher chance of killing Rimuru than you think. first - even though hinata's attack was faster than light it was not as fast time stop(I know physics says that faster than light theoretically means you go back in time but in tensura's anime that is not the case). later on in the light novel Rimuru takes a while to learn to adapt to a time stop ability of demon lord guy and can only see what is going on during time stop not able to move or react initially. if the ability the goal of all life is death is able to kill souls than it would kill Rimuru fully. but by the skills description it should be able to kill Rimuru but not permanently as people are able to survive the skill with a resurrection item. so i think if Rimuru and ainz were to fight going all out the instant they saw each other while not knowing each other's abilities ainz would be able to kill Rimuru but Rimuru would be able to revive later due to the soul corridor with valdora.
overall I think Rimuru would lose the first fight they had at current anime levels however that doesn't mean he won't come back and win a second match.
The only person who even stands a chance is makoto but he won't last long because of his inexperience in fighting

Aside from that. Rimuru possesses abnormal attack nullification. Ainz instant death is an abnormal attack magic. Rimuru has a lot of resistance and nullification. If I'm not mistaken demon slime Rimuru is immune to any physical, magic, and abnormal attacks. While demon slime Rimuru has resistance to any spiritual attacks and holy attack. After becoming a True Dragon Rimuru's Spiritual attack resistance became nullification meaning all of Ainz magic is useless against Rimuru.
Anime Rudeus doesn't even compare to Rudeus later in the novels, and he still was like the 8th strongest person on the planet in the novels.
You were saying that Cid would need to pull a new techniche out of his ass every few seconds, but that's legit his whole gimmick, we've never once seen him ever put even close to his full power into a fight, at least not in the anime. Allow me to throw in another contender... Ryner Lute (from: Legend of Legendary Heroes). By himself, he can copy and empower any spell he sees. With his Cursed Eyes (requires going berserk) the Dark God within him can erase anyone or anything from existence just by looking at it (some things unknown to this entity might require an analysis first but from the few fights we've seen of the anime, doesn't matter what it is)

Ok my dude i have read all the books of slime, this includes the extras where rimuru, revives a destroyed nuclear world. It took rimuru the entire story to become a god/defeate a god. Mean while makoto has already kill a god and defeated a goddess of war(one of the most powerful in our world). And already created a world. And its no even half of the story yet(novel is being updated slowly). But if you want a even more radiculus mc, just check"A wild last boss Appears!" It soo stupidly at the end, i can not take it serious.
you underestimate Absolute Defense and Rimurus own resistentes....
Absolut Defense can only be bypassed or broken if you either use particles smaller than magicules to go through the gaps of Rimuru barriers that is made out of magicules which are smaller than atoms, even than you have to hope that those at least exist outside of time so Raphael needs a second to predict them before absolute defense can even block that. Or you use energy equal to whats needed to create a universe or even multiverse as complex as Tensura -> star dust, nihility/void energy -> non of those charcters have something this powerful not even Ainzes world times can do THAT much. i judge world items to be as strong as a regular Ultimate skills as they do more or less the same thing (most of the time): change the laws of nature, and in some cases even permanently.
RESULT:
no one here is even remotely strong enough to get through is permanently active passive defenses
in addition to that Rimuru is immune to instant death magic and status effects to do his will power (-> a phenomenon present in his entire verse that as long as you have the (greater) will power than the opponent force (magic spell, physical attack, or just pure manipulation of the laws of physics) and his resistances which are pretty much already perfect with having nearly everything at the highest level: nullification

Rimuru could see Hinata come at him at normal human speed while seeing things a 1000000 times faster -> so nowhere near light speed only the particles around the sword (just like with a real disintegration spell) move at light speed and Raphael is still able to predict their movement of every single one of them.
Ainzes Time stop magic: it does not work on a fundamental level like in Tensura -> ainz could still walk normally and gravity still seems to be a thing and Rimuru as a spiritual lifeform can think without his physical body, so there is a chance he can even think during ainzes "time stop". (Ainzes spell as designed for a game so abilities and stuff are quite balanced, unlike a certain slime i could mention) But all that is doesn't matter anyway since it works only in a limited space around the user so he as to be near Rimuru to cast it and that will result in the casting being stopped before he can activate it or does he have a item/skill that activates instantly? Even if time stop doesn't work on Rimuru as best as it can ainz is still not able to harm him so its useless anyway.

Rimuru(or at least Raphael) knows every single spell Diablo (a demon who exists since the begin of time itself) has come up with and Raphael has a complete analysis on 2 Schools of magic (elemental and spirit) in every element except holy magic. I don't know how many spells that includes, but maybe its more than Ainz i don't know ^^ -> and this is just the quantity in performance Rimurus magic wins and if you include skills its just game over from the start (pun indented xD)
Rimuru has complete control of the laws of physics (magical laws included) in a not so small radius around him (Uriel subskill law manipulation), except maybe world items in corner cases. So for ANY of them to even cast MAGIC or wearing armor for cid they would have to beg Rimuru to ALLOW it.
so basically he can one shot them all while they can't even hope to at least harm him a little. This match up is just a bit unfair.
