As a Golf MK7.5 owner, its very interesting to see this install. It sounds great even without a DSP. A good install and amplifier adjustment can make wonders
I’ve been running these exact speakers in my MK7 GTI, for 5 years. My build: Audison Voce 6.5 components front Audison Prima 6.5’s rear Massive Audio 9-channel equalizer Massive Audio Flatline II line-channel converter Sundown SA10 Classic D4 sub Custom trunk side fiberglass box NVX VAD17001 Mono Amp NVX JAD800.4 4-channel Amp 3mL sound deadening in F&R door panels The car sounds amazing to say the least!
Nice simple clean system giving 130w to each set of comps, how do these two sets of speakers perform when given 75w x 4 ? naturally they won't get as loud but do they still perform ?
With the sub being downward facing and being mounted on the flimsy false floor in the Golfs boot, do you have to add sound deadening to the underside of the false floor to combat this? It just seems like a less than ideal surface to me? Great video as always. Love the content and your top quality work.
Great video guys!! Big question for me is what do I do if I can’t print my own speaker adapters ??? It’s great that you can do it, but how do install these same speakers you used if I can’t create custom adapters?
another MK7.5 owner here, in the US. at around 11:00, the plug and play harness, did that come with the amp? Shortly after I bought the car, I did the factory so-called upgrade, came with sub and built-in amp. Even with also upgrading to very good speakers, disappointment. What you did sounds awesome. also wondering if you kept the spare tire in your design. My other car is a Pontiac GTO (Vauxhall Monaro), hope you do one of those and video it!
hi guys, great video, very well detailed and presented. Keep up the brilliant content. Just a quick question as i have a MK7.5 golf also, did you guys have to modify the back of the door card behind the speaker grill in order for the skinz waterguard to fit snugly? What i mean is, did you need to trim the little tabs where the factory foam sits since the MK7 GOLF has 6 inch instead of 6.5" speakers? Many thanks
Hello, I use Audison 165p on the front doors of my car, but I cannot get a good midbass sound. Below 90 Hz is almost inaudible. My car is Opel Grandland x. There is CTK brand sound insulation on the front doors. What can you suggest?
Hi I’ve just purchased the apbx 10, I’m struggling how to tune it correctly as I’ve not really done this before, I know every car is different but where do you tune them to? Thanks
I own a mk7 it's frustrating you can't replace the original headunit since that's the first thing I do in all my previous cars preferably with Apple car play which I've had in my previous 4 cars
I think Alpine do a replacement HU, dunno how much of the original functions it can keep though. TBF though, most cars of that generation had already started integrating their HU's and making it harder to replace them.

Yes, they perform really nicely

Yes and no. If you had it mounted onto a more solid floor, it would improve but it is always a balance between budget, the car and sound :)
Sound quality sounds wicked I need this for my vw polo gti 2012
Let's do it

You will need the adapters for this, there is no way to do it without adapters
Video is advertisement of services.
Does the box stay in one place or does it move around in the boot/ trunk?
One place but it can easily be removed

We made the harness in house. We don't have any booked in currently but if we get one in we will try film it :)

Thank you, no we didn't, this is taken into account with our speaker adapter
You have used silicone rain guards. Was it used as it is or did you cut the back to help with better air movement for the speakers. Thanks
As it is on this install

We use Skinz, if you want low end, add a sub or amplify the speakers to help them drop lower
Hi, what are you using to convert to phono/rca inputs from the headunit
We use high level input
Hi I’ve just purchased the apbx 10, I’m struggling how to tune it correctly as I’ve not really done this before, I know every car is different but where do you tune them to? Thanks
Normally around 90-110hz
Is the instillation the same for a Golf R 2024?
Yes

We can normally add car play to your existing screen

Good video, but you talk too much, this video could have been 10 minutes long.
Thanks for the feedback
