So legit just following your video and my sub is set up and bumping. I have a 2017 gti sport. I used the scosche adapter and your wiring guid helped sooooo much. Took me much longer then your video but I did it haha. Thanks again!!!
Hi everyone. One question, but if you add another connected amplifier besides the sub amplifier, would it disturb the sound? It happens to me that I hear the engine noise. Or when I start the engine, it slams the loudspeaker with that aux stealing system. Please help me
Hello, bad or poorly insulated RCA wires, poor or bad ground to amp or adapter, and also cheap speaker wires, are usually the main cause of engine noise coming thru speakers, I would check to make sure you have good connection to ground first then if you still have engine noise try replacing your RCA wires, then your speaker wires, if that doesn't work try a ground loop insulator.
Thanks for this video! I did everything but got stuck on the battery terminal of all things. Ended up stripping the terminal thinking I could take the nut off. How did you attach the power cable to the battery? Did you use a U shaped prong looking end?
your welcome, yeah those nuts don't come off, I used a ring connector, i just cut a notch of the ring so that i could split it just enough to go around the terminal bolt.
Hey man, really nice video, but i have a question, and i hope you can help me about that. I have mk7 TDI from 2016, but i don't have the radio in the Glovebox, i was thinking if its possible to do the same and install my subwoofer or if its need other equipments for instal the sub..
I'm trying to install 750W RMS with a pioneer amp to stock stereo. Would this method still work? Would I connect the RCA adapter to rear speaker stock wiring? Bare in mind car is hybrid.
Awesome video! Helps a lot with my install! I am using a LOC I got from bestbuy and I have the fender audio so I tapped my left (+/-) and right (+/-) to my wires in the trunk. My LOC has two ground wires, do you know if it’s necessary to ground these out? Thanks :)
Alright is there an easier way to wire a subwoofer to the radio without cutting wires? Any help would be appreciated, was thinking like an adaptor or harness
Does wiring to the back of the CD player allow bass for all other audio (Bluetooth, radio, etc) this might be a dumb question, just want to be sure that it doesn't limit bass to just the CD audio.
I wired up everything exactly as it is in the video. However even with the remote line wired up correctly the amp still draws power with the car off. Any thoughts? Great video btw
A fused switch of I think 20amp max would be needed but dont quote me on that but having a fuse will be safer and more well worth your time in the end since it's only power to turn on the amp and nothing to do with main power wire but also buying a smaller battery to hook up before or a battery capacitor if you dont allready have one so you save your battery as much as possible. Getting a smaller battery is better but about 300 to 400 hundred bucks and a battery capacitor is about 50 or 100 and reduces amps going stright to the battery and surging the main battery.
I don't want to use a converter, my amp has a hi-level input, so I'm just gonna connect audio wires at the same places you did, but where can I get the remote signal, is it possible to connect to one of the wires just like you did with the battery one? I got some advice to take the rem signal from the fuse box, but I really don't like that idea. Thanks in advance)
Say Hello To The Robots you could use the same battery wire I used to wire the converter but just make sure that it's only powered when the key is on and not all the time, it's been a while since I did this so I don't remember if it had power all the time or only when the key was on on, you can also wire it to the fuse box using an add a circuit fuse adapter , just find a fuse that only has power when key is on
Hey man, used the exact same loc2sl as you did but have run into a problem. did you have an issue getting the radio to fit back in after you installed it?
Hello my friend. I hope you still read and answer questions. First of all, thanx for the video. I’m working on mu instalation, but my rca adapter does not have the remote cable. Any idea which (radio) wire I can use for remote?? ( I know I can use sigarette lighter cable or directly from fusebox, but radio would be a lot easier.)
Hey, just saw your comment, anyways, you could just hook it up to the power wire going to the radio (red wire going to pin 18, there is a link in the description with the wiring diagram)I would just check to make sure it gets power when you turn the key on and that it's not powered all the time (it's been a while since I did this so I don't remember if it's powered all the time or when key is turned on).
Great video man, helped me get all of my stuff into my TSi. Only problem I'm having is getting the radio back into its slot, I used the same adaptor as you did, but it just doesn't want to go back in. Any tips?
Sam thanks, i had the same problem it took me a while to get it to fit, i just pushed the adapter into the hole behind the stereo and wigled it until it went in.
thebeastmedina thanks for the fast reply man! I got it a few minutes ago, had to lay upside down in the seat, but I found a hole above the stereo that I was able to fish it into. Just putting trim pieces back on now, everything is all hidden and clean. Thanks again!
Figured it out. You have to push the metal tabs on the left and right side to release the keys. I had to use a flat head screwdriver and really push to the point where I thought I might break something. Maybe my keys are too wide, but that’s how you do it. Thanks, good video!
Thanks for the video man got a question. How did you make the adapter and the cable converters fit back in with the unit? Did you have to position the adapter a certain way or tuck it in a certain place? I got the set up going and It sounds great just got my head unit hanging out bc i can’t get her back in lmao
It took me a while to get it to fit too, I just tried different spots until I found a good place where it would fit, I don't remember exactly how I got it in, it's been a while,
hey man, quick question. I see you are installing a subwoofer in gti s or sport , very nice set up bro however if I want to install a second sub to my se model, how would that work? thanks
you can use the same adapter but instead of using the signal from the rear speakers like i did you can use the signal from the wires going to the sub woofer at the trunk of the car, that sub has a plug with 4 wires (brown(L-), brown -yellow(R-), white(L+), white-yellow(R+) here is a diagram and plug wire pic I found in a vw forum www.golfmk7.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=3583&stc=1&d=1419285716 www.golfmk7.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=3584&stc=1&d=1419285731 And of course you would have to run power wires for your amp, and for the power for the inverter adapter you can just tie in to the positive and negative wires going to your amp, then just hook the RCA wires from the adapter to your amp, and also the romote wire from the adapter to the romote on your amp.
