- Well, the clip I recorded just the moment when the took Papa Emeritus III and Papa Emeritus Zero appearance... he said in italian: "I'm Papa Emeritus 0, party time is over. Middle Age starts now!"

I’m just now catching up on the entire lore of Ghost, that being said I find it funny how Nihil says that “the party is over and the dark ages have begun.” And then the band proceeds to be fronted by the goofiest character Tobias has ever created.
hahahaha, yeah. Like Papa Nihil says party is over and 6 months later we have "RATS" and dancing, hahahaha... :P I really love Ghost!
Yeah. and Nihil is goofing off sneaking in on stage doing Saxophone solos :D
Thats the joke, it was supposed to be one of nihil's sons to take place, but .... Watch the ghost chapters and you will see

@@Heretical at the end of the Meliora album cycle/ start of Prequelle’s album cycle Papa Nihil killed off all Papa Emeritus 1, 2 and 3 so that Cardinal Copia could front the band for the new album. This video is basically Papa 3 being taken away to be killed off

@@Vardalon only on stage when tobias was performing a terzo, swiss would take over as emeritus, but in songs it's always tobias singing

I'm sure he absolutely knew something was about to happen. Apart that only the "character" died, the man behind the mask is the same since 2010, so all Papas and Cardinal Copia are the same guy but in different costumes, which means different eras for Ghost.

They finished with Monstrance Clock and, right before the end, this happened: they took Papa III out of the stage and Papa Emeritus Zero showed himself saying that a new era was about to begin.

Papa Emeritus Nihil, who introduces himself here as Papa Emeritus Zero, is the only Papa so far that isn't played by Tobias Forge. He's played by three different performers that I know of, one for character performances like his speech and the story videos, one that plays his younger self in a few of the videos, and another entirely for his musical performances. All the other Papas have been played exclusively by Forge with occasional assistance from body doubles for scenes that require more than one Papa on stage - like the transition of power from Papa I to Papa II, or Papa II to Papa III.
Swiss (one of the Ghouls who sings backup & also plays rhythm guitar) usually plays Papa Nihil when the band performs live

He was my favorite of the Papas. I don't really like this new Cardinal character. He's not as charming and smooth as Papa Emeritus III.
Same here... It broke my heart watching this. And when Cardinal showed up I didn't like this new character at all (even more after that magazine cover with Papa III head). But I do like this new Ghouls.
@@YamiSixx So glad to know I'm not the only one! Even Tobias said he doesn't really like the Cardinal yet but is hoping "he" will eventually earn his place. I imagine his looks might also change since he's not a Pope yet. I just don't really like the new mask - it looks too fake and it almost reminds me of Michael Meyers and the black eyes are the only thing remotely "demonic" about the look. Normally I don't mind tight pants - and believe me, he fills them out well but that's just the point - the crotch is a total distraction when I watch the live stuff! LOL!
