The reason why business laptops have 180 degree hinge is because one of the most common failure points in a laptop is its hinge. So opening a laptop beyond a particular angle will damage the hinge. So incorporating 180 degree in a business laptop ensures that the hing is much stronger. This is my observation, I might be wrong too.
A critical business feature for me is the hinge stiffness - there is nothing worse than sitting on the train with the screen wobbling all over the place. This one looks solid - thanks mate.
I just got this model for work too. Mine does not have an Ethernet port. Does yours? I tried connecting a USB-C dock, but the bandwidth speed is much slower than than the built-in WiFi. Are you you solely using WiFi, or do you have a USB-C dock that supports higher speeds on its Ethernet port? Thnx!
I bought this one used, it is such a nice laptop and I love it. The only problem is that the sim card is not being detected. It does have an LTE modem installed and compatible drivers, but it always shows "insert sim" anybody have any idea about this?
No idea could just be dirty or need a driver update. How much did you pay? I see 7400s 8th gens gong for $200 with 16GB ram and 256GB SSD. About $50 more than the HP Elitebooks of the same era but these Dells have much better screens. Was also looking at 5000 latitudes because they come faster for the same price (IRIS Graphics) but have really dim screens.
Hey , I got this from my office and it sucks, it heats so much and speakers, they sound very low, is there some kind of tuning that needs to be done in order to have a loud voice on the speaker
After using this laptop for a year, it's hot trash lol the WIFI antenna stinks and the only thing it's good for is Office word programs. I hate this laptop with a passion.
It runs like a million degrees and its fans spin up so loud I have to put ice packs on it to keep it cool, its literally the worst work laptop I've ever had. Our company switched everyone to Thinkpads after everyone complained about these, leagues better.
Please tell me if business laptops are good for programming like android studio? And please tell if this laptop is good for programming, previously i used older versions of latitude it used to work perfect and now i want to upgrade it would be helpful if anyone answer.
I think the idea with the 180 degree hinge is you can lie it flat and use Ctrl-Alt-Down to show what's on your screen to someone sitting across from you
Is it me or does this keyboard and track pad cut your fingers? My company purchased this for me and my fingers tips are killing me from using the keys and trackpad. I use a 2013 late edition MacBook Pro with retina as a personal laptop and is soooo much better than this crap. I'm so confused why it's not being brought up.
What do you think about Dell Precision series 5000 that is the professional version of the XPS with Quadro cards? Can that be the best machine for pro works?
I was sent a Dell dongle which isn’t what I need. Is there a powered Dell hub that will allow me to plug in all my peripherals, and USB C out of it to laptop that will also charge the laptop? I have the 7400
Can you please-specify what the Dell Dongle that you received is for? (Example: to ). Also: Yes. I have-heard there are Dell port-replicators that connect to the “USB type C” port of laptops and on the other end there are things like VGA, HDMI, DisplayPort, USB type C, USB type A, 10/100/1000 “Gigabit”-Ethernet port, etcetera.
Hi, I'm really interested in Latitude 7400 (matt with touch). Can you confirm please the real weight of this device? I see on internet widely differing opinions about weight, from 1,36kg (many reviews) to even 1,53kg (Notebookcheck).
@@manuar9760 I dunno. look-up the particular hardware-requirements of that computer-game and then look-up the hardware-characteristics of the particular “Dell”-brand-name “Latitude”-model-name “7400”-model-number “”--sub-model-number that you are looking-at. Not all of the “Dell Latitude 7400”-laptops have exactly the same hardware-specifications. If it DOESN’T have-them, you’re screwed and you have-to look-for something-else.

The 180 recline is to use a monitor + the laptop keyboard. So the laptop screen sits flat while you are using the laptop primarily as a keyboard.

Thanks
Yes this one is the best in that category
new intro definitely better. simpler, faster, subtle woof
Thanks mate
This is what my work issued us and I really enjoy it!

What matters is the hardware that comes inside the laptop.
If it’s powerful-enough to do programming in/with.

Yer maybe
Or you turn around your PC after Ctrl-Alt-Down and when you read something scroll down with your finger
hahha nice :D
Privacy screens and integrated dock mechanisms are two common business features.
Yep 👍
Choose 7400 or T480s bro?
