Dude, I've had my 2002 WJ for 21 years and just today am I learning about this feature. Saved me a trip to get it checked. Definitely coulda made life a little simpler in the past lol
I know this is old video but thanks you saved me some loot today. Looking at a 2002 WJ with 4.7 and was gonna buy a scanner because it has check engine light. But the thing runs amazing. We will see tonight when I go back to read codes. Thank you
Ronnie “SIR” …… WTF?! 😫 my 2002 Jeep GC Laredo is hanging by a thread … most times. I love my Jeep. Any afford monthly payments so I do what I can myself…. THIS is GOLD!!!!! The MANY times I have gone to get it checked/diagnosed and gotten overcharged is OVA!!! Ty so much 🙏🏽 ….. I’m about to SCOUR your page to see if I can fix as much as I can now.
I found your video trying to find out why my check engine light doesn’t work, I’m very glad I did because my 01 grand Cherokee 4.0 L6 threw out P0300, P0302, P0305, P0306 misfiring on 3/6 cylinders. Went ahead and changed all the spark plugs, no more codes.
Hey Big guy I learned how to see the codes not too long ago but I have fixed a few of the issues that popped up.....but now I'm trying to figure out how to reset the codes so I can see what codes it is still throwing??? Is there a way to reset the computer with out going to parts store?
Hi everyone, I just bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7 V8 (year 2000) and am having a warning sign popping up every now and then. The official Stellantis (now owner of the Jeep brand) service tried for 3 days to fix it but failed. An "exclamation!" mark inside a circle appear and also a "P" inside a circle. Typically this happens when I drive faster than 100km/h. when I stop the car and turn-off the engine, the warning signs (both) disappear. Any help, much appreciated! Thanks
My guages, door lock buttons and windows all stopped working at the same time if you have any info would appreciate it. I have 2001 jeep ppl grand cherokee
I did that with my Cherokee 2.8crd and it showed 4 codes. Then I tried my Thinkobd100 reader, and it showed just two, different codes.. I reset with the scan reader, but it still had one code left (EGR valve.).. still puzzled here...
Okay I have a 04 GC Overland 4.7 HO and it has never gave me a problem in 2 years. My wife and I went out a couple weeks ago and we have a teenager that always has a reason she needed to drive it. So if we are going to be gone all weekend I pull the TCM AND ASD relays because then it won't start so she takes her car. We got back Sunday the battery was dead. I have charged it up jumped it and it just cranks over. I tried some starting fluid still no. I've tested all fuses and relays I've replaced both cam shaft and crank sensors still just cranks over. And I have tried this key trick and the only thing that comes up is the millage nothing else and I plugged in a code reader and no codes show. PLEASE ANYONE HAVE A IDEA?
Hey Ronnie, my dad has a 2004 Cherokee with the 4.7. One day he went to start it and nothing happened. We replaced the TCM and the starter relay and still nothing. I even switched the Auto shut down and TCM relays. Battery has 11.9. Any suggestions on the next step should be? I’m thinking starter and solenoid, but I want another opinion… Thanks in advance
Check the wires connected to the fues box from tha batter to alternator to starter I had burned out one of the wired connected to the main circuit on the fuse box
No codes. But I know something is not right with the circulation... New water pump, thermostat ok, head gadget ok, renewed cooling water and cleaned/drained rediator. No air bubbles. Water level ok. No residue around radiator water top. No oil nor water loss. Just a little drop of oil underneath oil filter. Still car runs too hot , to my opinion, just over half. What's wrong? Why is there no code? Jeep Cherokee sport 1999 4.0lt
If I had water in my mouth when P0300 showed up, I would’ve spit it out. That’s an engine code you do not want to see… For those who don’t know, it means multiple cylinders are misfiring
P 0300-303 My dad says something about the engine cylinders or something like that I put gas in so we’ll see Still has the engine light on tho But I just got it towed for 400+ total, So who knows man
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DOES NOT APPEAR WHEN I START ENGINE I THINK PREVIOUS OWNER REMOVED IT I WANT IT BACK BUT CANT LOCATE IT I TOOK MY CLUSTER OFF(2001 JGC) BUT DONT KNOW WHERE IT SHOULD BE .
Just hold the cluster to a light and look in the back side, you will see if any missing or take out a bulb and look to see if the printed image is a check engine light icon
Had to look in the comment section to see if I'm the only one that has this problem mine won't do it. I've tried over and over and over it will not do it
Jeeps have been doing that since at least 1995 and probably before then.....why does it take some ppl so long to learn that?? 😉 Or maybe I should say why doesnt Jeep let ppl know? Strange 😒 But somehow I knew many years ago.
You don't crank it, just turn the key so it's on in accessory mode (where it makes the ding noise and the gauges light up) and then turn it off and you do that 3x
