WORKED GREAT 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD 4.7L FI SOHC HO 8cyl *My connector was a (squeeze from rear - pull) type (no red tab on mine) *PS535 oil pressure switch *Performance Tool W80590 socket 1" to 1 1/16" socket to remove switch *63250 adjustable oil filter remover (attach to bottom of filter to remove with rachet) Removal was smooth I allowed jeep to cool before removing oil filter to avoid messy spill. You dont have to drain oil. The only oil that will spill will be whats in the oil filter. (If your carefull enough when removing you wont really spill any). When I replaced oil filter I added oil to the new filter before replacing it and checked the levels after the job was complete. Thank you!
My 00 jeep grand cherokee limited check gages light came on. Oil pressure at 0 when running. My 1st thought, shut the engine off, maybe the oil pump went out. Now it works intermmitantely, engine running fine. Oil pressure sensor going out. Got one on Ebay for $10. Thanx for the video, just what I needed to know.
Great short direct simple video, THANK YOU. Maybe you can put the Duralast PN and the Socket size in the description for easy reference. Thank you. Q: Have you ever heard that the harness to the sensor ought to be replaced? As if it’s the cause of the voltage drops creating the RED Check Gauges light, and not the Pressure Sensor?
Today my 2004 4.7L V8 had the same. Check gage red light on and pressure in dash go down and up. My firs reaction was put engine off. Thanks for your video 👍🖐️😃
The connector has 2 locks. 1- Pull the red clip out. but there is a tap that has to be lifted from the middle. If not too old, the tab can be pushed from the rear of the connector and the middle of the tap will lift, If old, or if cold, it wont lift, better pick it out with the angled pick and toss it. You need only one lock, not 2. Hard to pull connector out ? Pry it off from the sensor with the pick making lever againts the oil filter base. Most videos only teach half of what you need to do.
Nicely decked out Jeep! Mine started spitting "check gauges" with oil pressure dropping to zero at idle, but going back up to normal when revving the engine (even just keeping it above 2k rpm). Strangely, this happened right after I changed the oil and filter... hmmm, is there a chance it doesn't like the oil? Conventional, 5w30.
I seen that you have to get the oil filter out of the way. Do you have to do a oil change after removing the filter? I just did a oil change not to long ago and don't want to waste the oil
Great question. No you do not have to drain all the oil out but you do need to have your oil pan ready to catch whatever comes out from the filter area it shouldn't be more than half a quart or so.
I had 2 janky places bump that switch while changing oil filter - I knew right away because once it went out on its own - Quick tip if you want codes turn key 3X,s fwd w/o starting vehicle then back to starting position and you should gets codes works up too 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Any Ideas On What My Check Gauges Could be , Changed the Oil Sensor , Bettery , New Oil Filter , and oil change but still throws check gauges after a few minutes of driving it also bettery seems to not have enough power even though i just bought it like 8 months ago n the new one still isnt it
Pause at 5 minutes 3 seconds and look at those gas prices! It’s now two years later and on april 11th 2023 in Kalamazoo Michigan gas is $3.51 a gallon smh

excellent video - plenty of light - good job~! Saved me a trip to the shop.

It's been driving me nuts having my oil gauge pegged at 40 but now I don't think it's worth the trouble of getting to that sensor. Thank you sir
Do you change your own oil? It’s right above the oil filter 😅
@@SRTyler392 people don't change their own oil?! I replaced the sensor, waste of money.
@@ghandi215 haha I actually had trouble with it myself today I bought a socket for it but it wasn’t deep enough
Of course I change my own oil 😂 I replaced the sensor but the needle still stays in the center and barely moves almost like a dummy gauge

Sounds like it's time to replace that relay
Did you figure out what needed fixed , I’m currently having same problems right now oil pressure dropping to 0 at idle & have no idea
@@jacobijones8304 Yup! Bought the part on Amazon. Easiest fix in my life! Still good...
@@hikeflydive well what was the part?
@@tylerhouser5591 he shows it in the video
And thank you your a huge help now I’m gonna go fix my pops jeep
Thankyou. Nice. Straight-forward no bullshit video.
Appreciate the vid! Mine just went bad on my 2004 Jeep GC Laredo 6cyl

👍🏻 much needed video thought engine was about to blow 😌
I just bought a '99 GC for $400 because the girl thought it was gonna blow up on her... it was just the pressure switch
Helped me enormously. Thank you Sir

How do you know if you need an oil sensor?
Would this sensor cause my jeep not to shift properly cause it has oil runs fine shows 0 all the time and is like its in limp mode
No this will not fix limp mode.
Check your engine codes
So my jeep grand cherokees oil pressure sits at 70psi all the time even when the keys on and the engine not running what would cause that
A bad oil pressure switch.
Any recommendations if that red clip is broken ?
My jeep cherokees oil pressure stays at high the whole time I drive it. Could this be causing it?
Y’all save yourself the headache… if you got the 4.7L use a 27mm socket to get the sensor off. And thank me later ‼️💯
How much oil came out when you removed the oil filter? Love you channel.
Probably less than half of a quart. The oil pan sits lower than the filter and that's where the majority of the oil should be.
@@FastestIntegra Thanks!

These I’ve heard are known to leak also. You know if this true?
Things are ezer when you can see them, thanks I'll plan this for oil change
Now time to work on the Air Bag light!!!
Great video. I learned alot. Thank you.
Thank you, sir!It helps to know how to un clip the plug, keep from breaking it!
Did it start still before you replaced it ?
Nice and simple. Thank you

My oil pressure is staying at 20 at all times, what can it be
Well I have the same mirror motorcycle give it a try thank you very much
Que medida es el dado para apretarlo
Not related to the oil pressure sensor.
What front bumper are you running?
It's from a eBay seller I'm not extremely happy about the build quality for the price I paid on the front, rear bumpers and Rock sliders
@@FastestIntegra that's disappointing. Thank you
Thank you sir nicely done
Great thank you so much!
Great video. I have one concern though. I searched part number and it seems like a WK sensor. Does 4.7 WK and WJ share the same sensor?
Thank you very helpful!
If the red tap is broken 😞
Thank You sir
Thank you
How the FUCK do you get that red tab out 😭😭 I'm at my wits end here.
