@@acecreates I do! Currently have an Etsy shop selling tees and other items but looking to create a more photography centric shopify website in 2022! The shirt is for sale on etsy here - tidd.ly/3FVSP4x Let me know if you pick one up!
I have two of them that I recently pulled out of storage. I wish people would stop calling them beginners cameras (unless that keeps the prices down) - I prefer to think of them as a simple honest working man's tool. My third SLR is a mid-60's Nikon F with the (typically) non- functioning Ftn finder.
So I have this camera and just as so, the light meter is not there. So yes the battery is indeed dead, however, my specific model does not have that tiny battery screw on the bottom, there is simply no screw there at all, it is just a tripod mount. is there another location for this battery compartment or is mine a fake? I am very confused.
Very confusing. I’m not too sure on this one. Remove the bottom plate… it’s very easy.. and see if the battery is in there. Someone might have replaced the plate with one without the screw? Odd for sure. It’s definitely a k1000?
looking back at it, it looks like its an S3. the model number is 445529 i'm not sure if that helps. I’m going to try to take off the bottom plate next.
I got a SuperProgram model from the 80s I want to learn to shoot still photos with. My only experience with still film cameras are those disposables from the 90s and 00s and Polaroids.
Going with the k1000 since I’m starting out on film. I’m seasoned on digital (a7iii) but I don’t want to film and spend a ton then regret it a month down the road.
I replaced the battery but no light indicator. Looking thru the viewfinder I see the bar on the right (plus on top etc) don't see anything within that bar when moving it between a light source and dark. Battery looks like it is correctly plus up. I inherited this from my Mom and never used an SLR before. Thanks for the video
Sounds like a bad light meter or connector. These are notorious for having a corroded wire near the battery compartment. If you are comfortable soldering you might be able to fix it yourself if you find that is your issue. 👍
Hi. I have this camera I got from estate sale. Came here, because I couldn’t open the back.. after seeing this, I realize my camera doesn’t have the handle to pull up and open the back.I’m wondering if it is repairable.
Absolutely repairable! I’ve had to fix these pieces a few times. Very easy to do but tricky at the same time. You should be able to buy the rewind knob on eBay. Is the stem still there or is it just a hole? If no stem you would need that too. I’d imagine there is a TH-cam tutorial on this somewhere. 👍
Nice review! A beautiful camera!
Thanks!
Love the k1000.. great video Teddy!
And I love your tee!!
Thank you and thank you! I made the tee! 🎉
@@TeddyJuras do you have them for sale?

Nice find! That’s essentially my experience too! It’s fun to get back into it for sure!
A classic
Yeah and this one was mint!
Hmmmmm I think I made my choice. Between this or the Olympus OM-2
Nice! I’m intrigued! Which are you going with? I’ve yet to get my hands on an om2!
