These are super helpful videos. I circulate a fleet of these cameras for a school and this will certainly help me diagnose problems, and possibly begin doing some repairs on my own instead of sending them out.
Hello, Do you know whether the Pentax MX is fundamentally the same as the K1000 inside? Superficially it has much in common and appears to be just a more compact K1000 (with fancy 'traffic light' meter) but that could be misleading of course...
Hi Sam or rally like your videos, I recently dug up the Pentax K1000 my mom used to let me mess around with as a child, it has two stripped gears underneath the film under arm, I ordered a cosmetically bad body to strip for parts is there any advice you can give for replacement?I already removed the larger diameter gear on the shaft of the under, now I need to get at the smaller diameter gear near the shutter button
I think I might need some pics to understand exactly which part you are trying to replace. If you like you can email me at samscamerabench@gmail.com and I can try to help out.
Excellent and thorough work! Are you taking on camera repair work? I have some relatively healthy and working Pentax KMs and a few K1000s but getting them accurate (shutter timing, verified meter accuracy) would be nice.
Hi Sam, do you have much experience with the Super Program/Super A? I have one with a film advance lever that feels like its disconnected internally. It just flops around. I'm wondering if that is something fixable or if its better to just buy another? Love the videos btw.
Already in love with this channel ! ! !
Amazing chanel just bought one of these hoping I can keep it working the rest of my life

This was my first real camera. Got it for my 13th birthday and taught me so much and sparked a hobby I still enjoy today.
Glad I stumbled on this channel. Well explained and detailed! Satisfying to watch!
Amazing work ❤

Not a ton. At least not enough to pinpoint what the issue might be. It's either poke around time or by another camera time. Good luck!
